'Wow...' She breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. It was the kind of thing that took your breath away, and made you forget you needed the air. Her gaze swept over the land, tinged with gold and orange and yellow. It was wonderful, magical even. 'It's beautiful...'

It was harder and harder for Amaree to get up with Rellick these days. He was always in his pride taking care of things, but it was a lazy day and Amaree decided it was time to take a stroll back to his pride, to the Scarlet Shadows, where she had left her little rock sitting on one of the small turrets in the stone den. She had taken Rellick's idea of using them for a hiding place. She looked around for Rellick in the den, but couldn't seem to find him. She made a low whining sound in the back of her throat, thinking she had missed him again. Just when she was going to ask him about osmething very important. (We're continuing on here, I'm supposing...)

Rellick smiled at her, then realised Amaree had just entered the cave. He grinned at Brooke.
"Be right back!" He said softly, then crept down the other side, trotting into the cave. "Heya Ree! Long time no see!"
He smiles at her. "Wow! You grew!"

Amaree nearly jumped out of her skin as Rellick startled her. "Hey... yeah. You're right.. I guess we've both been all over the place." Amaree blushed when Rellick mentioned her growing. She stood and walked in a slow circle, swishing her tail. "Yep... like it?" She asked, pawing at him happily. "I was wondering if you were around. You said something about having to tell me something the other day when you showed me the stone... I wanted to know what it was... and I needed to ask you about something..." She said looking down at the floor of the den, looking a little embarrassed.

Rellick laughed, but smiled an apology for startling her. He eyed her and nodded.
"Yeah! You look great!" He beamed. "We're gettin' old!"
He made a face, but laughed again. "Well.. I wanted to tell you I was starting my Pride early... Brooke is the first member.. And that if you ever needed a home.. You knew to count on me... Right?"
He glanced at her. "Ask me whatever you want.. I'm your friend.. If I can do anything for you... Lemme know..."

Amaree pawed the ground again. "Actually... that's the same reason I came to see you. You see, I've never really fit in to the Clow Pride... In fact, I've not been there since I got older. I was wondering... if it was okay... if I could join your pride..." Amaree stood up taller and tried to look serious and confident, it was hard for her, but she hadn't really been very good at doing things like this. She looked behind Rellick and saw Brooke. "I've never met her... " Amaree's ears lay back a bit and she looked a little upset. Was she... jealous? Amaree shook her head and tried to make it so Rellick didn't notice.

Rellick cocked his head.
"I don't see why not.. I'd love to have you, and if you've been wandering as of late..." He gave a little shrug and a smile. "Then you're more than welcome to stay here...."
He glanced at Brooke, or rather, her blue paws hanging from the top of the entrance.
"She's up watching the Sunset now..." He said with a grin. "But she was a cub in my father's pride.. And tagged along with me when I left... It's nice to have company."
He shouldered Amaree. "You'll meet her later..."

Amaree nudged him back. "Cool. I just didn't know if she was your... well... nevermind." Amaree turned and looked back into the den at the top turret. She shrugged and sat down. "Thank you... I'd love to join. I mean, I'll work hard. I haven't even been on my first hunt yet, but I promise I'll try my hardest!" She said, smiling sheepishly. She licked her paw and purred a bit. "I'm happy... to be part of your pride, Rellick. I really am."

Rellick shouldered her and grinned.
"Hunting isn't so hard... If it was, how can a goofball like me do it, heh?" He said with a wink. "Brooke's really sweet, so when you learn to hunt.. You might take her along? As far as I know of her... She was abandoned... She showed up in Father's Pride with very little trust...."
He shrugged and seemed to frown, following her glance up to the top-most ledge.
"Oh.. I usually sleep up there..." He gave a little shrug. "When you pick out a sleeping ledge, I'll show you how I move up and down from there.. Just so you don't get woken up everytime I go out to patrol."
Unlike most kings, Rellick chose to do his main patrol at night, warding of Hyenas as they attempted to sneak into his lands. He also prowled around in the early morning, or the late afternoon.
With a twitch of his ear, he reminded himself he should go speak to his neighboring Prides... And become Allies if he could.
He gave a stretch. "Any questions about living here Ree?"

Amaree pawed the ground and shook her head. "No, I think I pretty much get it. I just told my parents about my plans shortly before coming to speak to you... so I hope that won't be too horrible... The Clow may be helpful allies for us... if you don't mind." Amaree said, shaking her head and shouldering Rellick back. She smiled and walked out of the den. "I guess I'll go meet Brooke..." She said, then turned back to Rellick. "Anything I should know before you go off?" She asked cocking her head sideways.

Brooked poked her head down, catching a glimpse of Rellick and a pretty brown lioness, also in her teens. She grinned.
'Though I heard voices. Should I come down, or do you wanna come up and watch the sunset too?' She was hoping she could meet the lioness without have to go down. She didn't want to miss a moment of the spectacular scene laid out before her.

Amaree looked up, spotting Brooke. "Yes, I'll come up and join you. Rellick was just getting ready to go off anyway. He had to talk alliances with the other prides." Amaree said, making her way up to where Brooke was sitting.
"I'm Amaree. I hear you're Brooke.. We're both in the pride now.. so it'll be good to spend some time with you. I hear neither of us have gone on our first hunt. That ought to prove interesting. Maybe we'll go tomorrow?" Amaree asked, feeling a bit chatty. She flopped down and began to lick her paw. "Wow... It's really pretty from up here..." She said, looking out into the distance.

'Amaree, hi. Well, I used to live on my own, and I know how to hunt small things. I haven't been in a group hunt before though, and I'm really eager to. Tomorrow would be great!' She grinned. Already, she was getting to like this lioness a lot.

Rellick smiled, hesitating long enough to hear that the girls were getting along, and then trotted out of the cave. He glanced over his shoulder at them.
"Be good you two! I'll be back soon!" He called, smiling a fairwell then speeding into a run across the blood and black painted plains. As his paws hit golden light, he roared a fairwell, now officially out of his lands, and stretched out, eager to reach the mountains.

'Oh, no, Rellick, we're up to all sorts of trouble and mischief!' Brooke joked. She returned his smile with a chuckle, and then turned serious. 'I hope you find plenty of allies, hey?' Before long, she was back to her joking self. 'And don't you come back without quite a few allies, my Scarlet Shadow King, or me and 'Maree here'll tan your tail for ya good!'
