Silence Is Golden

I'm the one who listens
I'm the one who cares
I'm the one they talk to
My cross is too heavy to bear

They never stop talking
I can't say a word
They look to me as if I'm God
Why, oh why

When another starts talking
The other talks louder
They talk over each other
Just to see a smile from me

Leave me alone
I just want some quiet
Why did they choose me
I never wanted this

I can't stand the noise
It's dragging me down
Down, down to my death
I cover my ears

I don't want to listen
I don't want to care
Why do they have to talk to me
My life is ******** up enough
So please just leave me be
To peace and quiet

can't sleep
The demons of my past haunt me
What shall I do?
Everytime I close my eyes
They appear, hovering close
Nothing I do can stop them
Why won't they just
SHUT UP
I want them to leave
I want them to go
Stop bothering me
I thought I had forgotten them
I was mistaken
They come back when I least expect it
Ruining my life


What Happened

What happened to the trust
What happened to the love
I feel like I'm alone in here
But I'm not

You told me you'd never forsake me
You said I was your best friend
So why then when I waved
You turned your glance away?

I see you standing with Them
You vowed you never would
But there you are
Running away from me
Turning away from me
Just the way you said you wouldn't
Why are you standing with them?
Leaving me alone like a rose in the winter

You could have just told me you didn't like me
You could have just said you wanted me gone
Instead of leaving me without explanation
Leaving me alone to cry

What happened to the trust
What happened to the love
I'm all alone in here now
You've left me.


This one's crap...

Why must you accuse me
I haven't done anything wrong
You smile and bestow love
Upon the other two
But to me
You deliver frowns and reprimands
I need love too
I don't thrive on hate
I don't enjoy your yelling
I don't feed upon your loathing
If you would only see
That all I need is love
I'd be a different person
I'm not perfect
No one is
And yet you expect perfection from me
I'm not good enough for you
Yet I try my hardest to please you
I'm not what you wanted
But please, at least try
Love only works when it's used by both sides
I'm working so hard
Why can't you see
Whenever you think I'm wrong
You turn the air blue with obscenities
I cringe and lock myself in my room
Then you yell at me to come out
I don't want to

I don't want to be yelled at
Why does it seem
That everyone loves me
But you two
I need your love
I yearn for it
I'm loved from all sides
Except the side you're on

Is it really so hard?

This one sucks too

I longed to be loved
My heart was starving
Famished, almost gone
Then: water.
Smallest of tricklings.
Wetting my parched heart
It gulped it greedily
Praying hopefully for more
It begged me
Yelled and pleaded
I could hear it saying
'Give me love'
When I discovered I was loved
My heart was overcome with joy
It drank in the light
Nourishment at last
It had almost died
A stone, beaten by the waves
A glass, shattered on the floor
A leaf, crushed by a careless foot
A tree, uprooted from its soil
A book, burned upon the fire

A heart, broken by the one I thought I loved

i said i would always love you,
i said i would always be there,
i said i would never forsake you,
i said i would never hurt you,
i said i would never lie to you,
and what i said was true.

With Every Cut

Emptiness, a cold feeling,
Nothing more is left.
My heart is torn from my chest,
As the feelings of bitterness return.
My vision turns tainted red,
As I see the blade upon my skin,
As the crimson drops appear on my legs,
As the fire of anguish burns in my soul.
With every cut, with every incision,
I remember the pain.
I remember the pain that you caused,
The pain that humans brought to me.
And as the memories flow back into my mind,
So does the blood flow upon my skin.
Emptiness, a cold feeling,
Nothing more is left.
Nothing, except,
The pain I feel,
The pain I create,
With every cut.

My Mask and My Heartache

I cry inside my soul, although you cannot see.
I feel my heart burst open, but I don't speak a single word.
I refuse to reveal my real self to you, for, when I do,
You will shut me out, cast me aside,
Because you don't truly care.
I set up a barrier around my heart,
And I put on a mask of happiness.
If you mention my pain, even without knowing,
The mask trembles for a moment,
But goes back to the expression you desire it to be.
I will never let you know who I truly am,
I do not wish to be hurt again.
I have opened up my heart before,
Hoping you could understand,
But of course, this proved to be a task too great.
I gave up, and hoped that,
After hearing of my heartbreak,
You would realize you should learn about me,
Before making assumptions about things you know nothing about.

Icy Breath (An Ode to Celsius)

She holds her head high and proud,
She holds it high to the world.
She appears strong and good-willed,
Although rumors and lies about her are told.

She sits in her cave all throughout the day,
And she sleeps by the icicles all night.
She is not allowed to leave this prison of rock and ice,
Until a master is found who can face her might.

Her only companions are penguins,
ice spiders, and strangely chilly hounds,
She requires no nourishment, but she wishes
That soon, her master would be found.

Wearing clothes that resemble almost
The very essence of cold,
She waits in the ice-covered chambers,
She waits in the chambers of old.


"With Every Cut" and "My Mask and My Heartache" are based on some of my own experiences, and "Icy Breath" is based on a character from Tales of Symphonia.
