I carried on reading the book and i actually lost time, not that it was hard to do so down here as i continued reading about Reiats control. I tried a new exercise which was to gather Reiatsu in different parts of your body. This was a different level from what i had experienced before and really piled the pressure on my body.

I tried to focus, but the only thing happened when i did that, was that it would all try to merge again, something that wasn't the aim of the task. Thus i decided once again to start meditating on it. I marked my page and put it to one side before slowly beginning my meditations. If i was to become stronger and better at this then i would have to increase the amount of Reiatsu in each area and keep it under substantial contro, since it wasn't about just being able to do it, but being able to hold large masses of Reiatsu in one area for a long time, perhaps to conserve the energy from a Kidou.

I continued, and already i felt my Reiatsu burning around me furiously, straining back together, but that wasn't my aim...i had to control it at this level, i had to control each of the pieces to obeying me. By no means was this as easy feet and I spent what i didn't realize was hours trying to just get them all to stay in one place long enough so that i could increase each of them at the same time equally.

My Reiatsu didn't seem to like me for this either, and in fact I had to stop doing because my Reiatsu was just not quite ready for this. I set up a small running course through the Aquaduct and started running it, it came back to my spot twice during the circuit so i could tell if anything was taken, and it was a three hundred metre run each lap.

This i continued for as long as i could, i actually managed five laps before i came back to the beginning and stopped for a breather.

However, instead of completely stopping, i stopped and did a few press ups before moving onto sit ups to regain my energy. I drank a little of the water passing through and stood up again and ran off around the circuit once or twice more.

It was really getting to my muscles and i doubted i'd be able to make it to the dormitories easily, especially after such a strenuous work out.

I finally stopped the running after a few more laps, my legs couldn't take it, i wasn't as strong as i used to be, but that i would have to build back up slowly. I hadn't expected to become a Shinigami after all.

Then again, the less i thought about it...

I faced the wall and placed my finger at one corner. This would be one interpretation of using Kido.

"Hado #4," I said building up my Reiatsu, "Byakurai." A white light burst from my finger slicing into the wall at about an inch diametre. I stopped and observed the hole. Then i placed my palm against it.

"Hado #1, Spirit Ball," I murmured and instead of producing a large sphere, i produced a small one, although at a high density. I slammed it into the small opening, "Chirai." I said and broke up the ball into small pieces exploding them simulataneously to create a huge hole a little deep in.

I focused again and placed my palm against the hole.

"Ye Lord, Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man, Inferno and pandemonium, The sea barrier surges, March on to the south!" I began, "Hado #31 Shakkaho!" I said and sent the red ball straight in. I quickly made a movement with my hand.

"Hado #1 Spirit Ball," I said and instead of making it dense, i made it quite sparse enough so that it created a barrier around the wall in front of me. The red ball exploded and i focused on my new Hado as some of the tone blew out from around it, although perhaps only a millimetre.

I pulled the wall back with what little strength i had left and put in the books for safe keeping until i was finished with them. Once i had put the wall back in place i sat down in front of it and focused on my Reiatsu again.

I stood up after a while once i had regained my energy and started climbing the ladders. Every muscle in my body ached seemingly uncontrollably. I headed down into the lower district o the Restauraunt again.

I jumped down the hole into the aquaduct again and flicked through the book to start learning about Hadou and Bakudou. As interesting as this would be, i would like to see how this would turn out.

I waited for Kenji to join me as it was him I was tutoring. Not just myself as I looked through the book. I opened the wall again and selected one on Kidou. A good over view.

I climbed down, closing the lid after us and then jumped down and followed him to our little place as i was starting to come to terms with it as.

"Hey Sensei, how good are you at Kidou?" I asked.

"Most likely, I am as good as you with Kidou," I sighed it was more than likely true I was pretty much useless, and a beginner. However, learning Kidou in seven days was going to be a pretty quick achievement.

"Since we have possibly a maximum of three days to learn Kidou we are going to be down here a lot longer than i had at first anticipated, in order to learn everything. However, you will also need to be determined enough to learn at this constant pressure of an exam looming ahead of us," I said quietly. I focused for a moment and closed my eyes going over what i had read over the past few days. I had read quite a bit though, only a fraction of what was availible. It was then that i noticed my Zanpakuto humming, though it wasn't an angry hum, more of a pleasant satisfied hum. I frowned, why was it doing that. Then i realized, by Reiatsu was seeping into it.

When the hell had I lost control of my Reiatsu. I focused and quickly maintained it. I couldn't understand why my Reiatsu was going into my Zanpakuto, but it had stopped humming now. I scolded myself for not maintaining control. However, where had the reiatsu gone, and how long had it been humming for. I sighed slightly frustrated. I would need all of my energy in order to be ready for this exam.

"Firstly," I opened my eyes, "We will go over an introduction into Kidou, and then we'll get on to the practical side and learn it through and through." I nodded quietly and then began.

"And thus we begin," I said and collapsed my hands in front of me, "Kidou is a form of Magic used by Shinigami in the war against Hollow." I carried on talking, "There are two main types of Kidou. Destructive, otherwise known as Hado, and Binding otherwise known as Bakudo. Let's go into a little more detail now."

"Hado is used for targetting enemies and mainly damaging them. Bakudo is used more for binding and ensnaring targets, however, it is also used for communication, much like how the teacher communicated to us all moments ago. Are you getting all this?"

"Hai," I said quickly jotting the infomation down trying to absorb it as fast as i was writing the notes down. This was actually quite boring, but if i wanted to become a Shinigami, then i'd have to learn it.

So i poured all my efforts and concentration into learning it, learning how to find it enjoyable.

"Very well," I said and continued.

"There are some requirements in order to perform a Kidou spell. The harder the spell, the longer the requirements will be. The requirements to perform a spell are: The recitation of the incantation, the recitation of the type, the number, and finally the name of the spell. Some spells, for added control have seals and hand movements that accompany them." I took a deep breath and carried on, this was actually quite informative to even me.

"You can actually bypass the incantation for speed, however, this reduces not only the control of the Kidou, but also the power behind it. The lower the number of the spell, the easier it is to control it. The higher, the harder it is. Kidou can also be combined to use as a single attack, although, i'm not personally sure on how to do this. Now lets start with the practical side."

"Instead of learning Hado, which we have already partially covered, we're going to learn about Bakudo." I took out the book again and flipped to the relevant page. I frowned. This would be a little different i focused on how i could do it myself to demonstrate to him first.

"The first Bakudo, is Sai, otherwise known as "obstruction". Since it's the simplest, it has no incantation." I looked in the book again and then put it away. This was going to be a little bit tricky. I gathered my reiatsu into my fingers pointed them at Kenji's chest and focused on where i wanted the binding spell. Which was of course on his hands and feet to stop him moving.

"Bakudo #1: Sai!" I said and flicked my fingers out to the side inflicting the first Bakudo upon him.

I fell to my knee's almost instantaneously.

"Wow...that's a nifty technique," I said with my head touching the ground. I couldn't move at all. My feet were bound, and my hands were locked to my elbows behind my back. He was good at this. I could feel his reiatsu around me, tight and strong. I tried to move.

"Wha?" I said surprised, "I can't move?" I tried again but the reiatsu held me firm. I tried using my own Reiatsu to break it but to no avail. This was going to be hard. I knew that if i increased the control of my Reiatsu, i'd be able to focus it over his and escape this Kidou.

I carried on focusing, "Don't release me, i'll get out of this myself." I said and concentrated on my Reiatsu some more. Suddenly there was orange in front of my eyes. It burned brightly, and it was becoming slightly more opaque and yet also stronger and calmer.

"Hnnnnng," I tried to break out of it.

"As you wish," I said and monitored the Bakudo spell. It was actually quite locked on him, but it seemed that it weakened under the pressure of Reiatsu, but it's own power was related to the Reiatsu of the caster, although not as strong. I studied it as much as i could while watching my student trying to get out of it. He'd also summoned his Reiatsu at will, quite impressive and it was growing quickly.

"Focus and control Kenji, don't try to over exert yourself, it seems that your Reiatsu is the key to breaking it." I said watching his Reiatsu grow.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 25, 2006 2:24 pm

"Hai" I said and continued with the Reiatsu pressure. I stopped trying to move my hands apart though and just worked on the pressure of my own Reiatsu on the bonds that bound my hands. This would be good if i could break it. I could feel them weakening. I stared at the color of my Reiatsu.

"hnnnnnng," I concentrated on my Reiatsu again seeping it into the bonds, tearing them apart, and then suddenly. They shattered. I brought my hands up.

"Whew..." I said and looked at him. From what i had gathered with Kidou before it was about visualization stuff. So maybe i could do the same to him. I stood up and concentrated my Reiatsu into my hand, as much as i could.

"Bakudo #1: Sai," I mimicked his movements from earlier and grinned as the spell took hold.

To be truthful i hadn't expected him to inflict the same spell upon me. The binding spell took hold of me in much the same way as it had him, however, my Zanpakuto shrieked outs its distress bringing me out of my shock and into denfensive mode.

"Brat," I said as i fell to one knee refusing to go down. The bonds however were tighter and stronger than what i had inflicted upon him. He was also stronger than he had been the day i met him at the academy entrance hall. I bowed my head under the pressure. Then i followed my own teaching and gathered my Reiatsu. Suddenly the blue/black reiatsu gathered around me furious at my situation. I calmed it, and got it to work almost immediately. Little by little, i moved my hands round to my front and brought them together, folding my third and forth fingers down. I built up the strength of my Reiatsu to counter the power binding me.

I looked up at him with no spark of emotion on my face but irritance. Then after a moment I grunted and stood up smoothly, shattering the binding spell. I flung out one hand to the side just to emphasize the point.

"Impressive," I said quietly, "That's something we can use to build our Reiatsu stronger. That is your first Bakudo and yes we will be practicing on each other from here on out."

I stepped back as his Reiatsu built up. I couldn't believe the amount he was pouring out. I stepped back again. The pressure was quite heavy, at least, enough to make me feel heavy and slow me down.

"Hai sensei," I said when he finally released it all with his hand. I felt very much relieved that the pressure had gone then, "That's some awesome Reiatsu there."

"Alright then, i presume we should start a little more on the Hadou. I've already told you what Hadou is, and i've already taught you the basics. Show me how well you can do the Amber Cannon." I ordered pointing to a target. I knew i could do it, but was his Reiatsu up to the standard yet?

My self, i started practicing my Reiatsu control and stopping it from seeping into my Zanpakuto every five minutes. I looked up at Kenji, and wondered what his Zanpakuto would look like. It would definately be interesting to see.
