Hello, you can call me Isil or Isi. I started when I was 4, I'm 16 now razz I also play a wide range of other instruments (viola, flute, oboe, cello, clarinet, french horn, timpani, piano). I'm working on ...uh...a lot of pieces right now...as I always do. razz I switched into conducting this year in school orchestra. I havn't set an occupation goal yet, so hopefully I get some more inspiration from music in the next 16 months or so, or I won't go into it at all. biggrin
I'm Christian too! biggrin heehee

I'm Vinnie. I'm 15, and I probably started playing the violin later than anyone else in the guild (about 6 months ago). Beforre that, I played the alto saxophone, until lugging the thing around started to really bother me.
I'm pretty good for a beginner, and I'm positive the I made the right choice to play violin.

Hello! I'm Cookiin, a senior in highschool and 17 years old. I've been playing violin since 4th grade, and I"m like..completely the product of public schools...never had a provate teacher or anything..no self-taughtness, lol. And I'm about to graduate. Feels good, man. So anyways...I uaually practice by my self about 30 minutes per week (or rather, I DONT practice is what i shoudl be saying) but then I go to all school rehearsals (which is about 1-2 hours a week depending on wether we have a concert or not) and I go to church rehearsals (Which is another hour each week). I'm second to-last chair of the first violin section (all our first violins are in the chamber orchestra which is our "advanced" one) And I'm "first chair" at church. I play every single sunday with the organ player, my sister on bass, two other girls on violin, and a euphonium player. Yaaaay! I love purple. I love chikins. I love DDR. And...X Japan. Ya that's all I can think of for now. I look forward to talking with all of you ^_^;

I wish I started playing the violin earlier... I've wanted to since I was four, but didn't until middle school. (envy directed at all those who have been playing forever)
And I love DDR too, as well as RPGs. Yay. biggrin

I only wish I coould have been playing at the age of four or five. I didnt' get to start until I was 13. I took several years of piano before starting though so I have progressed quite well. I also teach piano and flute after school when I'm not at my other job. I would give anything to play music for competitions and such, but I tend to be a better teacher than a performer. In my small town, I'm considered a music genius, but I feel so small and little next to the real music talents. Music is a natural god-given talent for me, but I didn't have the determination when I was younger so I will never go as far as I wished I could have!

You can call me Gex. I've been playing violin for about a year now, I play an electric Fender violin. My favourite thing to play is pretty much Yellowcard music. (Yes, my reason for obsessing over this band is Sean Mackin on the violin) I'm 1, so I've been playing since I was 1. I also play bass guitar, guitar, and drums.

Hello everyone!
Um, here's some basic background info:
I've been playing the violin for about 8 years now. I have a lovely 1918 Stradivarius replica and a totally bitchin' electric violin. I've participated in several out-of-school orchestras and have a private teacher.
I play electric violin in rock band with a couple of friends, which is a lot of fun.
Well, I hope to have some excellent conversations with all of you!

Hi all!
I'm Sorsha! I'll be 13 in a few months and I've technically played the violin for a year but sadly I haven't focused on it very hard so I'm still a pretty low beginner. Recently I've decided to really try and boost my skill.
Um, my violin I inherited from my older brother when he dropped the violin (he's a flutist now). I think it's a "Bellafina," basically a cheap beginner violin. I also own a trumpet, though I'm worse at it then the violin. ^^
Other then the violin, I love art, reading, writing, and having fun. And I've recently got an obsession for "Call of Duty." O.o

Hello there! I have only joined Gaia very recently and decided a guild would be a good place to get more acquainted. I'm glad I found this place.
My name is Geert Hermans, but online I'm called Nekotaku. Just call me Neko. I've had a rather musical youth, with two parents that adore classical music and a father that makes woodwinds. I have played the violin for 11 years now, and the biggest regret in my life is that I haven't practiced enough at a young age, making me a rather mediocre violinist. Right now I'm at university, and don't have a place to practice without bothering other people, so I only practice during the weekends. I should do something about that. My favourite composition to play is the meditation from Thais, by Jules Massenet (the same piece as the favourite from the first poster). For some reason, I can play it much better than any other piece. Favourite composer is Beethoven, and while I listen to lots of violin music, my favourite instrument is the piano (that I regret not playing). That's pretty much all I have to say for now. Delighted to get to know all of you.

Greetings! I believe some sort of introductions are in order, therefore, refer to the following.
I've been playing violin for awhile now, and love every string and bit of wood that creates this entirely empathetic and marvelous instrument. I play a great deal of other instruments but specifically love violin.

Hi, all! I go by "Rose" when on-line, and I've been playing the violin for not quite three years. I really wish I'd started sooner. *sigh* I used to take piano lessons, so I can play an itty bit on the keyboard too. I takeclassical violin, although also I enjoy fiddle music a lot. Actually, I pretty much enjoy any kind of music.
