I know what its like to not have money. But at least you have your own violin right? That has to count for something and $1500 seems like a pretty penny to me so tell the people you know to "sit on it"

Go you! Good job standing up for yourself. xd

Mine is a 118 year old Loui Lowendall. I got it for about 5,000 it has 2 sets of lines that frames the violin ( heh i know i don't know what its called but thats ok!!!!!XD) ummm it has a really deep rich sound i really like it its a full size by the way. My 3/4 had a much better sound tho i have to admit. It was much richer and playing on the lower strings was like heaven! heh i sound like a geek.

I have an Eagle since I started, but my teacher said I'm becoming a better player and I need a better one. I'm waiting for the end of the year to buy my new one :3

my violin isn't signed, but the ones i bought it of said it might be a klotz, but they're not sure. it doesn't matter if it is or not, it's so, so very good to play on.

I have an violin that says 'The Primerva' and it's made by 'The Sound Post'. Don't ask me how old it is, but it cost £200. Still, it's better than the string of 5 council ones I went through-cracks and all. I was at ensamble the other day though, and there was this really small beginner girl who had my first violin (yes, I can tell by the case and the scratches), really cute and it bought back memories.

That's really cool, that you found the person who had your violin. In seventh grade, when I found out that I had to go to another school for eigth grade, I put a note in the case of my school violin, to kind of pass it on I doubt the person who got it cared much, but I did it more for me then for them anyway. (I don't remember what I wrote; it was around three years ago and I try not to remember middle school much sweatdrop )

When I got my new violin, I had to trade my precious Galadriel to the store owner... I wish I could meet the person who bought her. She was just a student violin, and I almost broke her just by playing too hard and snapping strings a lot, but I miss her. One of the hardest things I can remember having to do was leave her up on a peg in the store...

Fortunately for me, I play the viola, so I ge nice new instuments for cheap. Mine is almost $1000, and from Romania, its from 2000. But my bow is a whole different story. $40, fiberglass, virtually indestructible (unless you have the Empire State Building to drop it off).

Lucky! My bow cost $600! And that was because it belonged to my teacher's father, and he practically gave it to me.

I sitll have a student violin and it only cost $750. Within the year I should get a real professional. My beginner one is a Glassel.

Ok, what's the difference between "Student" violins and "professional" violins? I've never heard of these terms till i joined this giuld. My violin cost $600 but i've always thought of it as one of the better ones..My understanding was the older it was the more it cost and the better sound it gave. But that doesn't make new violins crap, does it? (else why would they keep making them..? lol) Someone please explain! domokun domokun domokun
