Lita_Concord OK, I need some assistance; My friend is sending me my new violin here in the next few weeks and I need some ideas for a name (geeze its like a baby name pool!) anyway, its a full sized black violin any ideas, suggestions, comments? domokun Someone named their violin "Black heart," but in elvish... I can't remember the exact wording though. stressed ViridianEmbers A name should real have more of a non-realistic appearnce to it. Like Ajan, it think that's lovely. Naming an instrument isn't quiet as intence as naming a pet, but naming ur fiddle Spot or Ringo is really....weird...TO ME. maybe not ne1 else, but right now, only my lovely bow has a name....Goldie. I'm such a hippocrit. lol...hippo, that's funny.....! Thank ou! biggrin Although Ringo was part of the name of a member of the Beatles, so that might make sense. blaugh Is there any particular reason that your bow's name is Goldie?

jojo Haha, my friend joked around with my violin and I (she plays too), and said she called hers Baiorin (Japanese saying) from time to time. I thought it was so great, and amusing that I decided to call mine just the same. Alright, so I copied, sue me XD I love it th ough. Baaaioriiiiin <333 XD Omg, I do the same thing! Except me and my sisters always purposefully say things with an accent, so mine's called "Biioriin"...When I say that at school people get confused and then I say "Biioriin, you know..my Baiolin? ...Hello are you stupid? MY FREAKING VIOLIN (only i say it in spanish which is spelled the same way as english, and they still dont get it)! Then thats when i realize i've forgotten how to say it in english. Then i have to resort to pointing and going "the thing I play that makes music?!?" And this is in my orchestra class, mind you. Outside of it, the kids get it much faster. Now that I think of it, I wonder if they are just pretending they dont understand me... sweatdrop domokun domokun domokun

Hey...ur right! i completely forgot about that! Well, for the LONGEST time I've had the WORST FRIGGIN BOW EVER, like i couldn't sell it for $20, i swear. So for a while I asked for money for a carbon fibre bow. for christmas, my Dad GAVE me a bow from poland, and it's painted gold! a really nice gold, not the kind of dusty gold that you get pencil crayons in (lol!). I'll get another bow in a few years...ha, many years, maybe, but my Goldie is an awesome alternative. Really sturdy, doesn't wabble. *glares at previous bow, who, by the way, was NOT NAMED* ooo, that reminds me, it's so uncanny, I decided to name my violin, today, Brogan. hehe! *giggles uncontroalbly* it means....*hehehehehehe* Little Shoe! YAY! blaugh *hugs nobody inparticular*

I need to name my violin, I think...or should I wait until I can buy a better one? My current one is not a Lady size stare with a thick neck. (sry about the excessive smileys) It's yellowish brown, mellow tone, can be very loud... Ne suggestion for names?

My violin's name is Lenore. I heard the name once in a poem and I fell in love with it. It just so happened that I played my violin within the hour of that, so I named it.

My violin I call Cor. Basically because of the legend of the corinthian column (I'll assume you know it). Also, because after I play something lovely, I can't believe I played it and automatically say "Cor..." as the appropriate interjection.

My violin is named Assyra, because...well I'm not really sure...It's an old yellowish color, which reminded me of sand, and I thought of the country of Syria, and I really liked that. It just seemed to fit. When I name things, they usually are something random that comes to me.

I have yet to name my violin. I've had it for almost 9 years and still no name. Will continue my search though. It's an old, somewhat scratched (my cousin's fault!!) kind of light colored violin, but has an amazing sound. Love it to pieces whee Anyone have suggestions?

I can't name my violin because whenever I try to give it a name it seems to make it feel more seperate from me. "My violin" makes it more apart of my soul, while a name personifies it and makes it a seperate entity from me. 3nodding
I am so totally freaky. O.o
Sita87: how about... BUTTER! Well... you said it was light colored. >.>
