"Get moving! You think you are so powerful!"
Ruth was vicious in her training but new Jei could handle this if she could focus her mind.
The boar squeeled loudly and snamped its little hooves on the rock. He was mad. With or without tusks he could still trample the kitten to death and he knew it. He took off in a straight shot towards the kitten, fully intending to run her over.

Jei let out a yowl, tossing herself to the side, nearly falling over as well. Going as fast as she possibly could, the kitten swiped blindly at the boar, not really expecting anything to hit. She wasn't good yet.. She knew it. She knew it. She had to try or.. She tried to focus on the young prey, again raising her arms, preparing to launch out of the way again.

Eris blinked at the stranger. How did she not know who she was? Everyone knew who she was. And what kind of answer did it give? It was somebody and no body at the same time? Everyone was someone.
"I am Eris. What are you doing here?"
The hooded cougar chuckled deep in its throat. Not even the wind of Gust Cliffs seemed to be able to reveal her identity.
"I live here. Free of all things. What are you doing here? Do you wish to be free?"
Freedom? Yes she wanted freedom. But the cougar said she was free of all things. What did Eris want to be free of?

"You weakling! You expect to take care of that good for nothing sister of yours with THOSE moves. Ha! She'll be dead her first time alone from you."
Ruth had another secret to keeping Eris around. It riled Jei up and forced her beyond her mental limits.
The board came to a quick stop and squeeled loudly again at the kitten. This time, he began his approach and then moved to trample her. If she stopped him, he'd kick her to death if he could.

Jei let out a loud, harsh snarl, diving to the side and hoping she didn't get run over. When she didn't feel the sudden weight of the boar's hooves, she spun herself around, leg kicking out farther..
In the path of the prey.
'Pleasepleaseplease..'

And it worked. The boar tripped as one of his legs was kicked from under him. His own speed and body weight causes him to fall flat on his face and even do a nice little flip. He is stunned from the impact.
"Now Jei! Strike!!"

Jei launched herself onto the fallen boar, reaching down and just ripping at the face, the neck, the shoulders, everything she could reach. When she started to smell a bit of blood, she went close to mad, clawing angrily at what she could only picture as her mother. She really didn't know what she was doing - the most she had ever killed was a small, young rabbit.

"Yes, I want to be free. Free of weakness. Free of being powerless. And..."
She didn't say what she wanted last of all. The last she kept even from herself most of time. It was born from her anger and fed on her sadness and pain. But the rest, thats what she wanted. Freedom of herself perhaps.
"All freedom has a price."
The cougar stood up, laughing again. It walked slowly over to Eris and put a hand on her head. Looking down at her, all that could be seen were two red eyes that looked exactly like the kitten's. They stared, unblinking at her for a time. Then it spoke again.
"You seek more that freedom. You....seek power."
Eris was amazed, someone who could actually understand her without her having to say it. Yes. She wanted power. Power to stop those that hurt her. Power to gain respect. Power to make everyone fear her as much as they had made her fear them. Everyone always caused her pain, making her fear every step should took would lead her to bloodshed and misery.
"Yes, I want power. But what can you do? No one else can teach me."
The cougar lifted her hand from Eris's head and walked to the edge of a cliff.
"I am not going to teach you anything. You have within you what you need. Its just chained, bound like your name in the tribe. It is helpless where it is."

The boar screamed its death all over the cliffs. It was a slow and painful death as Jei ripped it apart. Even Ruth was slightly taken aback by her daughter's utter visciousness.
"Jei! You are just suppose to kill it, not destroy it!"
A carcuss cut to ribbons was useless as food.

Jei let herself tear absentmindedly a bit more, slightly more calm, after a moment wiping the mess off of her hands onto the boar's back. "I did kill it." she said quietly, leaning back.
She loved that smell..
She fought to urge to just.. dive back in and rip all that was left to pieces. That would just result in having to do it again.. The first thing she had to get into her head. A huntress does not tear, a clean kill was needed..
Maybe Jei could find something else. She knew she wouldn't hold back, and the mass of blood, muscle, and fur below her wasn't really able to use for food.. But.. She'd figure something out. Maybe another huntress had the same 'problem'..

"You still have a lot to learn about actually keeping your prey in tact when you kill it. How many times must I tell you. Just go for a quick throat jab so we can get as much meat as possible."
Ruth sighed softly as she looked over the blood carcus of the boar. Oh well, her daughter would learn sooner or later.
"Come on, lets get cleaned up. Your sister better have come back home and be ready to get your dinner ready."
The elder cougar staulked off.

Eris thought all of this over slowly. This cougar was odd and a stranger to her. But she could see something hidden within her, chained up inside her. She suspected Aunt Ruth or the spirits were stopping her from reaching it. But how did she get in touch with it?
"How do I find this power? How do I release it?
"You must let yourself go deep. Release all before it so nothing stands in its way. You already know how to release things. Do so how. Show me how you can find the path to your power."
The mysterious cougar sat down on the edge of the cliff, the wind still not even rustling her robes.
Eris began to think. How do you release everything infront of something if you don't even know where it is? And how did she release things.......wait.....she released her anger and sadness when she sang. Maybe this cougar ment for her to sing. Ok, she can do that. But what could she sing? All her songs usually just came to her. Perhaps.....she could...focus on herself. Focus inside on her feelings. So, the young cougar sat and did just that, she slowly began to focus on her inner turmoil.

Jei let out a slow sigh, lingering along with the still messy body. ".. Mm." she glanced over to her mother's retreating form, starting to walk away from the mess..
When there was a familiar scent in the air.
Eris? But.. Hadn't she said.. Jei scowled, crossing her arms and stalking towards the faint scent. Her sister was going to die someday from not listening to her, she just knew it.. Mumbling under her breath, she stopped when things started getting a bit gusty.. Eris? She peered around, seeing the small form of her sister. Oh, definately, but..

As she sat on the edge of the cliff next to the older cougar, she gazed down into the dark abyss at the bottom. Her eyes unfocused a bit as she thought of the void in her own heart. Alone, afraid, and powerless. The black abyss began to swirl, she didn't even blink as it parted like smoke on a fire. Eyes looked back up at her, no visable bodies but just haunting eyes of the fallen. Two red ones seemed so familiar to her, but she couldn't place them. Thats when the song slowly came to her head and she started to sing.
"Catch me as I fall Say you're here and it's all over now Speaking to the atmosphere No one's here and I fall into myself This truth drives me into madness I know I can stop the pain if I will it all away If I will it all away
Don't turn away The spirits of the fallen sing. (Don't give in to the pain) Don't try to hide The spirits of the fallen sing.(Though they're screaming your name) Don't close your eyes The spirits of the fallen sing.(God knows what lies behind them) Don't turn out the light The spirits of the fallen sing.(Never sleep, never die)"
((You guessed it, this is " Whisper" by Evanescence

Jei looked fairly.. confused. Each song that her half-sister sang touched her in some way, but this one..
Jei dared to edge closer.
A few words would catch her ears before she could honestly hear her. Aah.. Her sister was hurting, she knew that.. but.. Was her sister honestly thar worried she wasn't going to be there anymore? She would always find some way to protect her. She would have to. That was the only thing she knew for sure..
