Shunsui chuckled as she puled him up and pulled his hat off his head.
"Yeah, I'll teach you. I promised, didn't I?" he asked as he took off the pink haori and laid it carefully on a low-hanging tree branch. Drawing both curved katanas, he handed her one, hilt-first.
"Have you ever held a sword before?" he asked as he waited for her to take it.

She took it in her paw, and it fell slightly. She made a face as she tried to hold it back to the position he had given it to her. "N..no." She said, not knowing it was gonna be that heavy. "Guess I'm gonna have to get used to holding it first." She laughed.

Shunsui nodded and resheathed the other sword.
"I guess it is rather heavy," he mumbled and walked around her, reaching his arms around her sides.
"Here, hold it like this," he whispered in her ear as his paws directed hers into a more comfortable position on the hilt.

She smiled as she felt his paws on hers. They felt so strong, yet gentle at the same time. She nodded as he moved her paws. He was right, it made it a little easier to handel, and the weight felt evenly distributed through her paws.

"See, this is only the sealed wakizashi, so it's smaller than the other. Released, they're roughly the same size, but that's only for me to use," Shunsui explained as he moved her paws back and forth a bit, so the blade swished a little in the air.
"Have a feel for it now?" he asked, taking in the scent of her. He kinda hoped she'd say no so that he could stay there a little longer.

"A little." She said as she let him move her arms, her eyes following the blade. "How do you release it?" She asked as she focused her attention on the grace of the blade, the way it sliced through the air with such ease. He must be a skilled swordsman to be able to let its grace flow out of the blade with such ease.

"Mmm, it's a little difficult to explain. I have to put some energy into it, but it's also a matter of calling the true blade, the spirit within, out... I can't be doing this all the time, because it's only for serious battles and the spirit tends to get annoyed, but... Would you like to see?" Shunsui asked, letting his chin rest momentarily on her shoulder. Releasing a blade's potential would probably be something he could never teach her. It took tremendous skill to learn the name of one's zanpakuto, but then... he never was very good at detecting other's shinigami potential. He made a note to ask Ukitake later.

She turned her head to see his face. "Ya, that would be cool." She smiled as she turned around and gave him back the blade. She took a few steps back to give him some room, and if something happened, she wouldn't get hurt.
She always wanted to see Shunsui at his full potential. Weather it be by himself or fighting with someone else. She wouldn't mind seeing him fight someone. She'd have to talk to Juu-san to see if he would spar with Shunsui.

Shunsui carefully took the small sword from her and sheathed it. It was more dramatic, this way. He put his paws on either hilt and closed his eyes.
"Hana Kaze Midarete, Kashin Naki, Tenpū Midarete, Tenma Warau," he said strongly, energy flaring out around him as he drew both blades. He crossed the blades as he the words, whipping them apart as they transformed into much larger scimitars, the wind rushing from him causing branches to shake as if in protest.

She watched in amazement as the enegery surrounded the blades. She brought her hands up to block her face from the fierce wind came out to meet her. She took a step back to brace herself against the srong gust, and sowly brought her arms down to see the swords. Her eyes became wide in awe as she saw the transformation the blade took.

The swords stayed that way for a moment before Shunsui lowered them, sealing them once more. He hung his head slightly as he resheathed them, his hat shielding any view of his face. But then he looked up and smiled at her.
"You alright?" he asked, tilting his head.

A small smile appeared on her face before it grew to a large grin. "That was amazing Shunsui!" She sang with glee as she ran over and hugged him around the neck. "You think I'd be able to do anything as cool as that?" She looked up to him.

One of Shunsui's sandle-clad paws steppewd back to keep him from falling over with her hug and he hugged her back. His hold loosened, however, she she asked him if she could do that and his smile faltered as well.
"I... I don't know, Artemis. I'm... not all that good at finding the spiritual potential in others, but..." here he sighed and his arms fell from around. She'd seemed so happy and this would probably just dampen her spirits. Why had he been such an idiot and showed her??
"I don't think you'll ever be able to release a zanpakuto, Artemis. It's... It's not easy and can take years of hard training..." he sighed again.

She looked at him with a strange look, her smile fell when he let go of her. She tilted her head to the side, onfused by his actions. When he started to speak, her ears perked up to hear his soft voice. After he was done, her smile returned, and her tail swayd from side to side.
"Well I guess we should get started then." She winked lightly. "If I'm gonna need alot of training, I should start now."

Shunsui smiled at her eagerness, but shook his head.
"It's not just that... I don't know if you'll be... able to interact with your blade as Ukitake and Hitsugaya and I can. We... we're different. I was going to ask Juu if you would be able to, though. Like I said, I'm not all that good at detecting the capabilities in others, but Juu might," he tried to explain, placing one paw on her shoulder, the thumb rubbing a little affectionately.
