The journal was a horucrux, when one becomes attached, emotionally, to or wears a horucrux it becomes able to control there mood or to possess them.

YEESSH! Finally! Ginny will die in Harry's arms! I was looking forward to that in the book..but it never happened crying
BTW: Ginny's not a horcrux. She was just posessed, nothing more nothing less.

PurplePandaPerson8 EricTastic It's that easy, you see, it fits perfectly. Harry could never kill Ginny because he loves her, so it makes perfect sense that Voldemort could make her a Horcrux, harry would never suspect it, and even if he did he could never destroy her. on page 310 of the chamber of secrets, Riddle say "and then i began to pour a little of my soul into her" meaning that he started writing back to Ginny through teh journal. But what if he meant it litteraly. And then if Harry chose to destroy Ginny *gasp* Voldemort knows that Ron would hate Harry for it, and Harry is always off without ron. Also it makes sense after all Ginny was doin, killing chickens, writing on walls etc. it would make sense that that was the Voldemort part of her taking control. And as for the "having to kill somthing to make a Horcrux" there were plently of skeletons on the floor of the chamber, Voldemort could have used any of them, not to mention the chickens... Just something to think about. wink Is ginny an INANAMATE OBJECT? THIS POST CONTAINS A SPOILER ALERT,BEWARE!keep in mind,a horcrux can be a living thing.if you read the 7th book you would know the snake is a korcrux, and harry himself is also a horcrux.(remember when harry died then came back to life, that destroyed the part of voldys soul in him)

each Horcrux is something that VOLDEMORT cherished and also they were all made before he was defeated the first time. So Ginny could not be a horcrux to begin with, the diary (which tom riddle put part of his soul into when her was in school) was a horcrux possessing her body
