A GD-like Subforum?
That'd be awesome! (sooner than later)
That'd be okay with me. (make it whenever you feel like it)
I would not like that. Please either PM The ED Coalition or post why

Ok,well this might seem a little unrelated but please read it through, (I haven't been through all the threads so I hope I'm not repeating anything sweatdrop )
It seems to me that this is kind of like Utopia (it's an online game at swirve) anyway In Utopia, the 'world' is set up into kingdoms that basically try to kill each other off, each kingdom is made up of something like 25-30 people that have to learn to coroperate or their kingdom will fall.
That being said successful kingdoms have very organized forums. In these forums they basically plan most if not the whole of the war before moving to start it. We need something like this.
-First the target is selected, from what I've seen our target is: Trolls/Spammers in ED
-Next we need the move that will start the 'war':
I suggest that we show them we are out there and willing to do something about it, put links in your signatures, start topics about it, post in topics about it, show them you care and are pissed
-Third we need to amass our troops and attack:
petitions, more moderators, get more people to join our cause, inform people who are spamming, politely, that they are in the wrong forum (this might sound stupid but the newer people probally don't realize what's going on), etc.

ok, well I hope this helps

Why not have a subforum for records? It just hit me the other day. Why couldn't we house copies of major debating threads in a subforum here? It would have all the spam taken out and flamers would be gone. We wouldn't continue unique posting, but we could keep them for future reference and for just in case the thread is destroyed or something. I don't know, I thought it was a pretty good idea.

Sounds great to me. I've always liked the idea of being able to get to know my fellow EDers better.

I think we should have a couple of 'getting to know you' threads, but not debating. Kind of like a 'how was your day' kind of thing. You're not going to go at each others' throats for saying 'yeah and then my boss started yelling at me for not doing my paper work in blue ink'. Maybe there should be a rule against debating here, but there should be a rant thread or something to that degree.

*EDIT* And more mods. Everywhere.

look eh... I don't know about you guys, but I'm not looking to resurrect the ED forum. I'd much prefer taking my convo's elswhere. why doesn't somebody make a copy of the ED and run it right?

That's the opposite of the entire guild mission statement. The purpose of this guild is to resurrect the ED, and not to make a copy. There are other guilds for that. If you want to take your conversations to a place more conducive to creativity and intelligence go the the Essence of ED, that's what they are for.

I have a copy of "ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS", I got it for my college critical thinking course, and throughout the whole thing are really REALLY good guidelines for ED participation. I spent 45$ on it so I don't really feel guilty about this suggestion;
ought I make a thread with it?

edit; 8th Edition (M. Neil Browne * Stuart M. Keeley)
