Taxi took his neices hand, smiling down at her comfortingly. One could only guess what was running through the vampires mind, but it certaintly wasn't what Winny was thinking about. What a nice man, her cousin, he was so the best cousin she ever had. The only cousin, actually. Who cared how cold and hard his hand was? She followed him to a nice large comfy chair, and when she sat down, it practically dwarfed her. Taxi stood behind the chair, resting his limbs on the back of it, simply seeming to wait.

Winny watched her uncle curiosly, and was tempted to say something, but just sat with her hands in her lap and kicking her feet a little bit in the air while waiting. This place, though, it was HUGE. And it was so nice. Sure, the man looked a little bit wierd, but he was apparently her uncle, and was therefore the best uncle ever.

Right? Green eyes flicked over to Winifred, and the first thing they did was scrutinize her from top to bottom. Those eyes, they didn't just look at her though, they absolutely pierced her, every fibre of her. From toes to ears. With a nod he dismissed his son, and Winifred watched him so with a bit of a frown. Before she saw where exactly he went, though, she looked back to her uncle, unsure, not smiling. That voice, it came again. "So, Winifred. You're certaintly your mothers daughter." It was so... so big. It was a big voice. It was important. More important then any voice she had ever heard.

"What would you say if I told you everything anyones ever told you was a lie?"

"Have you ever wondered how your... mothers, two females, could have babies? Despite everything you know about reproduction, somehow, here you are. And not to mention you had a sister. They told you she was indentical. But.. you were completely different. You didn't even look alike, did you? And then, oh then, she was a half vampire.

"And everyone, they ignored you. She was suddenly more important. I know, I know, they still loved you, right? But.. did they, did they truely? How could they when she was so much more interesting. That's why they left, wasn't it? And your mother, my neice, was stuck with you. But, your mother, she can't biologically have children, Winifred. It's simply... not possible. You see, she has no womb.

"Winifred, my dear, it just isn't possible. These people, they could never of been your parents. Didn't you ever wonder why they never loved you? Why you never felt as though you were like them? I do not know how you came into being, how you even remotely resemble them. But, I am here to help you. I am here to give you a gift no other man could. And i'll do it... for free. With no clauses, or questions, other then that you give me the love of a daughter. You see, i've never had a daughter, Winifred, and i've been watching you.

"You're perfect. I would never lie to you. You don't belong with those people, down there. Stand, look out this window here. Do you see them down there? They're tiny, nothing, nothing at all. Just little specs, like your family was. They didn't deserve you. I can make you better then all of them. I can give you what you want. I can give you eternal life."

"But then.. why was I living with them? Since I was a baby? And why do I look like them?" Winifred stood at the window, hands pressed against it, staring down. She didn't see the disgust on Kefkas face when he noticed her handprints on his beautiful glass, she was too enthralled by being told she was perfect. "Are... are you my father?" Brown hair flipped a bit as she turned to look up at him, and when she did that sneer turned into the perfect mask of a fatherly loving smile.

"I can be if you'd like me to. The father you've never had. I can give you the love you've always wanted, but always known you deserved." Kefka kneeled down to run his hand along the back of her head to smooth out her hair. Winifred was all too happy to trust him for the most part. He was here, talking to her, he actually cared about her and what happened to her.

There was something dreafully exhausting about spending hours with children. Not only that, but female ones, who were biologically related to him. For 600 years he had avoided having anymore blood come into the family. And what does that stupid niece of his do? Take advantage of technology. These stupid mortals and their technology, ******** around with life and death. It just wasn't something that should of happened. Finally the girl had gone to sleep, he had had his son arrange an actual room for her in this hotel. God, this was grating on his nerves, the short attention span, the squeeky loud voice, the simple innocence in her... and yet it was for those very reasons he stole her from her mother.

It would be shameful to their family name to have this thing running around wearing pink and pretending she was normal. To have this THING in the sun, oh god, and what if she turned out like his brother? Heaven forbid. Sure, his brother was useful sometimes, but generally the big lump of pathetic flesh was utterly useless and just depressing to think about. Kefka ran his fingers through his hair with a sigh, leaning on the arm of his perfectly white couch. This all could still be avoided. He could just kill her. That way her short as hell attention span and moronic questions wouldn't bother him anymore. It was something he was going to have to keep in the back of his mind if he ever gets too tired. At the same time, he considered the notion that she could turn out just fine. His initial protege, his son, Taxi, had turned out fine except for a few unredeeming qualities. Perhaps Winifred, once she was perfected, wouldn't have as many errs as his own son.

"Speak of the devil." Just as he was thinking of the boy, he walked in. Taxi looked a bit dismal, shoulders hung, his hair more messed up then usual with his arms crossed over his chest while dragging his feet. The blonde settled on the couch with his father, but on the opposite side, staring at his feet. "Father... are you sure about this?" Stolen green eyes looked up at him pleadingly. "She's so young. She's fresh to this world. Shouldn't we give her a chance?"

There it was again. That human quality to the boy. Everytime, every single time Kefka began to have faith in him he pulled something like this. Pond scum green eyes rolled and he looked down at the necromancer, "What would you have me do? Let her go back to her mother, who we both know is completely inept at even keeping herself alive, let alone a child? I can't even count how many times we've found her all bled out at the bottom of some cliff after throwing herself off." The sound of victory came in the form of a disheartened sigh as Taxi nodded slowly.

"I just wish there was some other way. It just seems wrong to do this to her, when she has the chance to experience life in ways we never could." One thin, black brow raised into a perfect arch. It didn't matter if his son had a point, because there was nothing they could do about it.

"Sohn. We do have options. But they don't work. If we were to let her experience life now, she could fall into the abysmal state of her mother and of my brother. Never truely enjoying life and going off into fits of complete madness. Mother-" There was a pause there, and the expression on that pale face changed to nearly match his sons. Dissapointment. "Mother should of let me deal with it when this first came up. But.. but i'm not to understand her. She didn't say why we couldn't just deal with the problem initially. I suppose this is for the better..." Kefka stood, cracking his back as he spoke again. "Go back to her room, make sure that sister of yours doesn't try anything."

Glancing over at the window which was covered in black scrawled out runes, Kefka decided that it was getting light outside and that he might as well head to bed. There was a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Winifred was enjoying her stay. It was cold, though. She always had to wake up at night now. That was annoying, but, she figured it was the least she could do. Afterall, she had always wanted a father. And she had begun to grow into the routine quite well. The girl woke up, took a shower, as it was important she was always very, very clean. Her hair wasn't allowed to be cut anymore, and the streaks that were in there were fading away now. No makeup unless they went outside. She did, however, have to do her hair every evening. Winifred had actually gotten used to waking up earlier then either of... they woke up and starting her routine earlier, that way she would be done by the time they got up. Apparently the smell of burning hair was too much for them, but he liked it anyways.

The girl hadn't taken the time to question why he wanted her to look nice or to be so clean. It wasn't that she didn't know what vampires were, or that she didn't have some hint at what they were planning... she just, hadn't thought about it. She couldn't be bothered too, or, she really didn't want to. This was what she had agreed too. So anyways, she woke up, did her hair, and then there was the process of getting dressed.

On the very first day, her cousin brother had taken her out shopping. He hadn't come. She had been afraid of the blonde at first, but she had grown to like him, despite that look in his eyes. The sort of sadness she thought she saw whenever he looked at her. She didn't know why. Did it matter? No, not really. Because he had boughten her clothes, she didn't even think twice. He picked them out for her in her sizes, and he had even picked out some clothes which weren't her size, but he thought she'd grow into. Every type of clothing imaginable. Sports clothes, undergarments, swimming gear, evening gowns... Everything. And they were all whatever was in the highest fashion. Winifred was afraid to look at the receipts. She was ashamed to think that she used to read magazines, and a few weeks or months ago..

How long had it been, anyways? She had no sense of time anymore. But, she had gotten all of these clothes, and after she did her hair, mind you, sometimes her cousin brother insisted on helping her with that, he picked out what she would wear that day. Winifred had no idea how he knew exactly what to dress her in, but he did. They never really spoke. He was far too sad. Well, she saw him be quite happy, and he tried to be happy around her and be nice like she was his sister, but it was obvious that it was fake. Winifred paused in her thought, bringing the comb through her locks of hair. They didn't seem to break anymore when she did it, there was never any hair on the brush. It didn't scare her, though, and she continued on with her considerations.

It wasn't that he was a good actor, he just seemed to treat her like she was a dead person. Not that he wasn't. But like she was just a... a... what was that saying? A sheep to the slaughter or something.

So after she was dressed, she went out to see him. He would like me to call him my father. She had never had a father. She'd always wanted one. And that's what he initially offered her. But she still was not quite sure. It just seems odd to call him my father while we do all of this. Not that he ever does anything WRONG. He's just so cold. She means, he acts like he's warm, but it's the opposite of Taxi, her cousin brother. Is Taxi her cousin or my brother, anyways? He told her to call him her cousin, but... he refers to them as siblings. She doesn't get it. Why can't he just be one thing. She tries not to think about it.

It scares her to think about. A lot of things scare her to think about, so she doesn't. Like why, after she gets dressed and her hair is all nice, he insists that she comes up to the top floor with him when they meet. It can be a variety of things they do. He can teach her school things, which in that case, they stay in the main room. Most of the time though, they go to the top floor. It's very odd there, and it gives her the creeps. But she really doesn't think about it. Once there, they do exercies. Like in school, in physical education. But this is different.

They fight. Physically. She knows he isn't exerting himself at all, he's teaching her the basics... but why? Why would she need to fight? What's he waiting for? He always talks about that too. That he's waiting for it.

She wonders what it is a lot.

Blone hair fell over his green eyes after he pulled the now wet towel away. Taxi wasn't needed today, so he was going to relax. Try and clear his mind. He knew it wouldn't work, but it was worth a try. So the young vampire had taken a nice long warm bath, washed his hair, and was now sitting in the living room looking out the giant windows onto the street.

He rested his cold chin on his equally cold knees. The warm water never lasted long. Nothing warm ever did. Those little people all the way down there. They wouldn't last long either. They were too warm for this cold world. His father was so vicious he hadn't even put any effort into fooling the child, he had told her some nonsensical lies when she would recognize as lies, but she was so desperate she would grasp onto them and try to.

The man had already cried his eyes out for her. There were simply no more tears left in his body, both metaphorically and literally. The envy he held for her, for her getting to live a real life, a real true life. He had to do something. He couldn't sit just around and let him take that from her. Sure, she wasn't a normal being, but she had the chance to be. Couldn't she atleast have that? Gods, the years he had spent wishing he could be one of them, just, be warm like them. No, Taxi had never even seen the sun.

Taxi professed that the only reason he hadn't killed himself was because one day, one day before he died and went off to hell, he wanted to be human. To atleast try it. To atleast experience what it was like to be warm blooded, to be able to be human. It was his greatest fantasy, and one he had never told anybody. It was laughable, really. It would never happen, and it was a stupid reason to not get life over with already. Atleast, that's what his father would say.

His mind was made up. He'd do something. He HAD to. It was the only... human thing to do.

His father wouldn't be awake yet. The younger one woke up earlier, Kefka used more energy, and therefore couldn't stand the heat of the dawning sun. It hurt him, but he could tolerate it. He needed the head start, anyways. Taxi had already prepared a note and left it on his fathers desk. Unlike Winifred, this was his true biological father, and it was also the man who 'fathered' him in the vampiric sense. Although there was no honest to god love between them, he was in debt to him, and he just couldn't leave.

That didn't matter right now. What mattered now was finding that girl. The blonde hurried to her room, which was rather conviently one floor below them on that horrible elevator. Of course, hers was a REAL floor, not whatever the hell his father had cooked up in this imaginary space of his. So Taxi actually had to get into the room the old fashioned way, seeing as this was a real door. He rummaged around hurriedly in his pocket for the key, looking at his wristwatch. He'd be awake in just a few minutes...

Taxi rushed in and spotted Winifred, she was in the bathroom, just now waking up and was about to get ready for a shower. "There's no time, Winifred," He wanted to throw her over his shoulder and make a run for it, but instead he took her by the hand and nearly dragged her. The vampire wasn't too surprised at how she just followed willingly, didn't even ask what was going on. She was in her pajamas and didn't seem flustered at all, despite the look of horror and worry on the mans face.

He hurried them out down the elevator, pressing the button for ground level so much you would think he would have broken it. God, she wasn't even asking where they were going. That in itself was more horrible then anything he could have done. By the time they got out of the front door and into a REAL Taxi, his father had woken up.

Warning: Kefka uses derogatory language. ): Excuse him plz. It's not his fault. He's old and mean.

When Kefka woke up, he knew they were gone. Their presence wasn't in the building. To say it wasn't often that he woke up with a frown would be a lie, but this particular morning, it wasn't just a frown. It was a scowl. And that, while to normal people may have just been a little change of details was a rather big deal.

That no good b*****d son of his had run off with the girl. His stupid, warm, ******** mind had made him so incredibly deranged he had thought he was doing the right thing. What in the hell was WRONG with that boy? Kefka knew it hadn't of been him. He had raised him right. Was probably that brother of his. Swear to god, Kefka was gonna kick his a** so harsh. As he threw on a house robe and left his room to see if they had left any tracks, split eyes caught something on his desk. A note? Lurching over he grabbed it and held it up so that he could read it. It was his sons writing, that was for sure, and the ink was from last night. So he had been planning this. Weasely b*****d.

Quote:
Father:

I've taken her. I'll bring her back. I wanted to take care of that problem for you.

Taxi Blackblood

And at that moment, the most vile, revolting and delighted grin coated over every one of Kefkas facial features. So maybe his son wasn't so bad. Maybe he wouldn't need this replacement afterall. He tucked in the drawer of his desk, he'd want to look at this again later. Because it was just too wonderful to see those words from his son. He'd leave them alone, no matter how much time that boy needed.

Why did he look so worried? Winifred couldn't place it, but something was wrong. She didn't want to say anything, she very rarely spoke anymore. The girl did sit nicely in her bedclothes, one hand was held tightly by Taxi, the other was placed nicely in her lap like she had been taught.

Right, so, as she was thinking earlier, Winifred was really just quite happy to feel so important. She was constantly doted on, afterall. Rather like a princess, really. She was even taught Etiquette. That was just one of the things she was taught. She was taught combat, and school work, but one thing she hated was math. It was something he had drilled into her head, numbers, and more numbers, and even more numbers. The only thing she really complained about, ever. It was too hard for her. She wanted to know why she had to do it. Why he always talked about money and banks and savings.

But now, she was worried about why she was in a car she didn't know with the blonde who looked nervous. He was fidgeting, pulling his hair behind an eye, letting it go, curling it around a finger, and then putting it back behind his ear. He sure was wierd. There was no doubt about that. His eyes were probably the wierdest part, because she had noticed that they gradually became duller and duller, and slightly darker and glazed over... and then, one day, they were just back to normal. Usually a shade off of the previous green, though. And once she had even SWORN that she had seen them be a different colour. He had come home near the morning and his eyes were blue. It was almost as though he had thought they were green, but no, they were blue with a bit of a green tint. NOT his eyecolour.

She'll never forget that. The frightened look he gave her, like a deer in the headlights.

That guilty look.
