Mirohoshi shook his head with a small smile. He could certainly tell that Sanyu wasn't used to being taken care of in any way. In a way, it was rather amusing. Here she was, acting as though helping her out was a drain on his resources, when he spent most nights risking death.
"Fuss?" He chuckled. "It was no fuss at all. It'd take a lot more than that for me to consider something an annoyance of any sort."
He thought for a second, part of him wondering if she'd be OK.
"Perhaps you'd allow me to come along with you? I think I can prevent any more problems if I can notice the energy flare early enough...."

Sanyu stopped, then frowned.
“Come with me?”
To her martial arts class? Oh to count the problems with that… For one, it was an advanced class. For two…
She just didn’t want to hear it. She didn’t need another person trying to tell her to take it easy. She had specifically not mentioned it was a martial arts class BECAUSE of that. Would he try to talk her out of attending? It wouldn’t work. It’d only be an annoyance.
“I don’t know if the teacher would allow it.”
Oh great. That was a half-assed excuse. Now he was going to just come along to see, wouldn’t he? Ask the teacher himself. Can’t be helped. She couldn’t just make up another excuse. Then it’d be obvious that she had something to hide. Then he’d know anyway. She wasn’t going to assume him an idiot.

I don't know if the teacher would allow it. Boy, wasn't that a classic excuse. It was also an excuse that tended to hint at other, entirely different reasons that one might not want company. Normally, he'd let it drop. But these weren't normal circumstances.
He tried to think of the best way to keep the situation relatively calm. "Well, I suppose we'll never know unless we ask, now will we?"
One way or the other, he was, of course, coming along. It was just a matter of how.

“Yeah…”
She shrugged. Oh, she really wasn’t looking forward to this. He probably knew that she wasn’t pleased, her tone of voice didn’t help. But what could she do? So, the cracked open the door and began to step out, leaving it open for him to follow.
“Well, come on then.”
It wasn’t going to be a far walk from his house, anyway. If his house was walking distance from the bar, it was walking distance from her house, and that meant walking distance from her class.

The annoyance in her voice was not difficult to catch. It wasn't as though she was trying to hide it. However, Mirohoshi was not going to be discouraged. In the long run, him tagging along was for her safety. While she might not be suffering from any obvious permanent effects of her 'energy surges', he couldn't guarantee it would stay that way, and she knew it.
He quickly followed her out the door, closing and locking it behind him, grabbing his backpack on his way through and settling it on his back, straps resting comfortably on his shoulders. To him, the added weight was negligible at best, and the design of the pack meant it wouldn't shift while he walked. Heck, he could fight with it on if he really had to, though it wasn't something he liked doing.
"So, what kind of class are we heading off to anyway?"

Sanyu’s head fell back as she sighed. She brought her hands up so that they interlaced behind her head, supporting it as she seemed to stare at the sky. Her eyes moved to look over at him, moving her head as little as possible so that she wasn’t actually facing him.
“Martial Arts.” She hurried to add: “And don’t ya dare lecture me about it because I’m going no matter what ya say. If you don’t like it, you can leave.”
Then she continued to look up at the sky. She was half expecting him to say something, half expecting him to leave. She was prepared to ditch him if her started nagging her about it. She didn’t know how well he knew the place, but she was confident in her ability to run like hell and hide. The last thing she needed was someone to get on her back about her classes.
“I can’t miss it. What kind of example would that set for the younger ones?” She mumbled, like an after thought. Maybe something that she was only saying out loud, not necessarily to Mirohoshi.

Mirohoshi couldn't help but find Sanyu's reaction at least mildly amusing. Here she was, having had issues with her arm at least three times, and she was handling everything with almost an easy boredom, as though it didn't really matter. Of course, the only response she got was a mildly raised eyebrow.
But who was Mirohoshi to argue with her? He spent much of his time risking his life. He couldn't really say anything to a girl who wasn't even sure there was technically anything wrong with her. Although her continued distrust and annoyance with him was starting to grate on his nerves. He hadn't technically done anything wrong, had even given her more of an answer than she could've from anyone else on what the hell was going on.
"I'm not asking you to miss it. Hell, I'm not asking you to do anything but let me tag along as a safeguard, unless you'd rather the arm go out with no one around who can stop it or who knows what's going on."

Her arms dropped to her sides, her head turning so it glanced off to the side instead.
“My arm… can’t go out.”
She tilted her head a bit in his direction, just so she could see him.
“It can’t stay like this. It can’t be serious.”
She sighed, crossing her arms over her chest as she glanced to the side again. It didn’t look like she was angry. Somehow, when she crossed her arms, it looked more like she was trying to comfort herself than anything. A silly thought. She’d deny it. She didn’t have to comfort herself over anything. Facts were facts, plain and simple. Her arm just couldn’t be messed up. That was all there was to it. She didn’t need to comfort herself.
“I need my arm. I can’t survive if it… just stops working.”
And that’s what she felt it was doing. It wasn’t broken. It wasn’t injured. It just stopped working. There was no other way she could describe it.

Mirohoshi shook his head in utter disbelief. Now the girl was just being ridiculous and idealistic. This was the real world for her now. It wasn't just something for horror stories. This was life. This was monsters, ghosts, and supernatural powers, like in some far-fetched TV show, dropped in her lap just like it was his. It was serious, and it could stop working, and there was no denying it.
He followed the movement of her arms as they crossed, the fairly normal action for some reason grabbing his attention, and thereby drawing attention to where they went, attention he very earnestly tried to divert rather quickly. His gaze grew dark, angry, almost insulted at her final statement.
Can't survive? Hadn't this girl ever LOOKED at the world around her, SEEN the lives of others. People survived without such things on a semi-regular basis. Was it fair? No, not at all. But few things in life were, and it wasn't a problem anyone could fix by a longshot.
As he spoke, his voice was soft, quiet, his anger leaking into his words. "You may just have to get used to the idea. But gods be damned, I'm going to try to keep it away from that possibility."
Almost visibly, the anger evaporated, as though Mirohoshi had merely pushed it out of the way. He could feel his own energy peaking, as it did at times when he was annoyed, and had to calm himself down before he released it. It was different in battle when he was actively using it, but having it flare in normal situations was not a good idea at all.

Sanyu felt his energy as it built up… then ebbed away. She remember when she got pissed off at him for not telling her how to control her powers. Her energy had done the same thing. Well, without the ebbing. So, did that mean he was pissed at her? The anger in his voice… She hadn’t done anything this time! She had given him plenty of reason for him to angry at her before, but not now!
It’s wasn’t HIS arm! He had no right to be pissed at her! And for what? She was only stating a fact! If her arm went out she wouldn’t have a job and her shot at teaching Martial Arts would be gone! She had no other talents! She’d be in the streets! She was already broke as is! How was she supposed to make money? She couldn’t even waitress a normal restaurant with an arm like that! She couldn’t do anything else. She wasn’t skilled, didn’t have a college degree in anything… No one would hire her.
But he was angry at HER!?
But gods be damned, I’m going to try to keep it away from that possibility.
Why? Why even bother? If she pissed him off and he pissed her off, shouldn’t they just part ways here?
She yelled at him and screamed at him before, but he had just taken her back to his house and made her hot chocolate. But now… she just mentions how she needs her arm and he gets all pissy? And then still insists on helping her?
What’s wrong with this guy?
She turned to him as if she was about to say something. Something that wouldn’t be nice, either. Something like ‘if I piss you off, then why are you still around? Can’t you just leave me the Hell alone?’. But she didn’t. Her lips pressed together so hard that they made only a thin line formed into a frown. Then, without a word, she turned back around and kept walking.
She said nothing else to him until they reached the Dojo.

Mirohoshi didn't bother attempting to break the silence. As far as he was concerned, a quiet walk was just fine. He wasn't that much of a talker anyway. Instead, he thought as they walked. Here he was being presented with a problem - a pretty big one at that. This girl had power, there was no denying that. But he didn't know what exactly it was, or how much she had. She needed his help. He knew it, and she knew it too, whether she wanted to admit it or not.
But was she going to be worth the trouble? It could kill both of them, an idea that had apparently not struck her yet, as she was only worried about her arm. But if it didn't, she was help he really needed, help he couldn't really turn down.
Not to mention that him training her meant he was likely going to have to support both of them, as he knew she simply didn't have the time for training and Hollows on top of her current life. Of course, that wasn't technically a problem. He made more than enough for that.
He glanced up at the sign on the dojo. Interesting...He'd heard of the master before. He was supposed to be pretty good. Mirohoshi had never met him before though, and was vaguely intrigued at the possibility.

Sanyu took off her shoes at the door, setting them over at a designated spot to the side.
“Sanyu, early as usual.” The Sensei stepped into the hall. Instantly, Sanyu stood up and gave him a respectful bow. A bow which he returned.
“Ohayo gozaimasu, Sensei. I hope you don’t mind, but I brought a… friend… with me today. He’s interested in watching the class today.”
Why was saying the word ‘friend’ so hard? It could be because she wasn’t really sure if they were ‘friends’. Most likely, they weren’t. Not yet. It was too soon for that.
“Well, any friend of Sanyu is welcome.” He turned to Mirohoshi, giving him the same respectful bow that he had shown Sanyu.
“I’m going to go ahead and change into uniform.” Sanyu said, the drop her respective turn signifying that it was Mirohoshi she was talking to. With that, she took a brief leave to the locker room where she kept her clothing. It was a small and traditional styled room, only with a row of more modern lockers.
The Sensei gestured for Mirohoshi to take off his shoes and come in.

Mirohoshi very nearly raised an eyebrow. Friend? That wasn't exactly how he'd expected to be referred to. Actually, he'd gotten the distinct impression that Sanyu didn't actually like him much, but was keeping him around simply because he might be able to help her.
Mirohoshi was honored that the Sensei had bothered to bow to him, technically a student, even though he was an expert in multiple forms of martial arts, and returned the bow deeply, stepping back slightly to make sure he didn't bump anyone in the relatively close quarters due to his height and the breadth of his shoulders. Without a word, Mirohoshi removed his shoes and placed them next to Sanyu's. He fought back a slight chuckle at the huge difference in size.
He turned back to the Sensei and spoke, trying to keep his voice low. "If I may be so bold as to make such a request, Sensei, I have a mild interest in more than watching your class today. I have an interest in Sanyu's abilities specifically, and would like your permission to perhaps engage your student in a spar under your supervision after the class." He paused. "Or perhaps, as a demonstration during your class."
He knew many martial arts forms believed in the idea of ki, and somehow, he had an idea that his source of power, and Sanyu's, might be enhanced versions thereof. If his theory was correct, he thought that a martial arts master might actually notice at least the focusing of the energy, like ki is often described as being used, and might be able to help them better. If not, he could at least give pointers in fighting to both Mirohoshi and Sanyu.

“I’m afraid that a demonstration would not be possible. You see, first is Sanyu’s class and such a thing wouldn’t fit in today’s curriculum. And after that I’m afraid is the morning class for children. Sanyu is going to be demonstrating for that class today already, but sparring would be out of the question. It just, wouldn’t be a good idea around such young students. However, after that class I believe there is some spare time. That is, if you don’t mind me eating my breakfast while I supervised.” He smiled.
Sanyu came back into the room, fully dressed in her uniform and bare foot. She had redone her hair tie. It was obvious by how suddenly neat her hair was. On her hands were a pair of fingerless Martial Arts gloves. They were cut out in the palm and had no real thumb area, either. Over the back of her hand to her knuckles was a thin amount of foam in three separate sections. She was still putting those on, wrapping the long Velcro strap around her wrist.

Mirohoshi returned the smile. "That would be fine." Technically, Mirohoshi would prefer it to be alone with only the Sensei. Less distractions, less for the Sensei to have to focus on.
Mirohoshi's attention was diverted as Sanyu walked back in, her hair pulled back neatly. He couldn't help but notice it looked good that way. However, he said nothing, understanding that now was the time for class and more proper 'rituals', for lack of a better term in his mind. He would not interfere in any way with how things would normally work.
