Mekare's lonesome heart was what had him wandering, taking him up to the mountains. Soon he stopped... he knew a boarder was here. It was marked well. He was lonely and needed a safe home. mustering up the best roar he could, he waited... hopelessly.

Apollo's ears perked up and he looked toward the path. A visitor who had found his home? Glancing around his empty paradise valley, he trotted up the path, then back down it's winidng trail to the hidden crevice in the mountain side to meet a marked lion. He could smell the hurt on him and his made his heart ache for the lion, "Greetings, stranger. I see you've fallen upon my pride?"

"I have fallen into a pit of despair... I need help..." He said truthfully, looking up to the beautifully marked lion. "My name is Mekare... I have wandered most of my life... found my true love... then it ended in hell... I have hoped to return to heaven... or as close as I can manage... I need a safe place for me and my children... they have grown but I need them close..." He breathed all at once. He felt like he could pour out his sins to this lion.

Apollo bowed his head and moved aside to reveal the ascending path into the mountains, "You are more than welcome here for as long a time as you and your family needs... We are small but close here, and my sister shall soon join us." He smiled warmly at the battered lion, examining his markings and colors before starting up the path, "My name is Apollo, and you've found Heaven's Guardians."

"I thank you with what ever is left of my heart..." Mekare said as he bowed low. "Thank you so much for your generosity Apollo..." He said in a gentle whisper. "Givenna, Aoha, and Teysu... I will retrieve them when I am settled..." He said as he glanced behind him. He was going to get better... finally...

Apollo smiled warmly, tohugh knew it was not visable as they worked their way to the peak of the path before starting to descend sharply into the valley. It was a misleading passage, but as the crested the final cliff of the valley-side of th mountain, the setting sprawled out before them, the ruins glistening with their stone in the sunlight, the grasses moving gently in the wind, the trees dancing and the bisecting river shimmering, the sun rays dancing off of its surface. This view made Apollo remember why he was so lucky to find this valley - it had everything. "The cave is nested in the face mountain face..." he said quietly, feeling guilty for disturbing the serene setting with his voice.

Nodding slightly Mekare stepped up beside him. "This pride will bustle with generosity... because you are so kind Apollo..." He said in a tone no louder than a whisper as he began to meander about, gaining his bearing and trying to push past his depression.

Apollo grinned - they were now in the cool valley. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened to his sister - she was very, very late... "I'm glad you found my home, Mekare. I hope you are able to find peace here," he said with a wink. "I'll go and find food..."
Artemis had met a bit of trouble on her way - not to mention she had gotten lost on her way up the mountain. Aside from her lack of directional skills and a bit of blood being shed at her paws, she had finally managed to find her brother's pride and bugled a loud roar as she started up the path into their valley home. She could tell that someone had just come through with her brother and made sure that all of the blood was gone from her glistening white fur before she entered the valley.

"Thank you Apollo..." He said as he laid down in the cool grass. It felt nice compared to the hot savanna... where he no longer wished to reside. He would be comfortable to stay up here for the rest of his life... Sighing heavily he rested his head on his paws and tried to clear his mind.

Apollo turned and grinned over Mekare at his sister, "Artemis!" he said happily, "You've made it!"
Artemis regarded the new lion with a deep bow, then stepped over to Apollo and nuzzled him, "With a touch of trouble, yes, I'm finally here. Those rogue lions can be a bit brutish when they feel like it. Well, the ones I met, anyway." She turned to Mekare with a small smile, "My name's Artemis, and I'm Apollo's older twin sister," she said in a much different tone than she had been speaking to Apollo in about her excursion across the Pride Lands.

Rising immediately he turned and bowed. "Apollo's sister must be just as gracious as her brother, Artemis!" He said in a please tone as he rose. "I must thank you both for the generosity you have shown to me... I know I will be at ease soon..."

Apollo snickered, knowing my Artemis's implications that she had, indeed, only made her passage around the rogues by killing them.
Artemis raised her eyebrows, "Well, I wouldn't go that far. There's a reason he's the king and I just tag along." She chuckled, but it was true - he was far more diplomatic than she on most occasions.

Nike wasn't always the best with directions just quite yet. It was her disadvantage of telling directions that got her in the position she was now, parentless, lost and alone. The golden cub had treated through many prides without bothering into anyone and was honestly thankful she hadn't ran into any trouble. Her pink ears were dodging from side to side listening for any hint of someone coming. But the scenery kind of took her off guard, it was so beautiful... Much more appealing than any of the other prides she had ran into. The only sound that could be heard coming from her was the growling of her stomach as she was very adgile on her feet.

Artemis's ear's shot up, and she soon saw her brother's follow. It seemed a lion had wandered up their path without realizing that it was hidden. "I'll take care of it," she said with a hint of a growl in her voice as she trod in the direction of the winding path. When she arrived at the crest of the hill of the path she noticed a golden cub with peculiar square markings adorning her entire body, and she cocked her head to one side at the sight. Certainly no threat, but a surprise nevertheless. "Hello there, she called upward and gave a sort of bow, graceful despite the fact that she was walking. "I see you've fallen upon our pride, young one..."
Apollo nodded as his sister departed, but couldn't help but wonder who could have so easily come upon them. It wasn't as if they were easy to find, even to the most worthy of lions.

Nike saw the odd lioness infront of her and thought quickly if she should act dumb, start appolgoizing and crying or take off. She decided that her first instincts were the best and decided to appologize and play a little dumb. But first she bowed. "I'm so sorry... I got lost.. I didn't mean to disturb anyone..." She repented as if she had killed someone almost at the verge of tears. "I'm Nike and I'm sorry ma'am..."
