Apple swallowed his leaves, then laughed a little. "Sorry, I couldn't resist." He said licking his chops and following the mare to a little opening it looked like they were heading to. Hearing the mare giggle a little, Apple perked his ears up to listen. "So I'm guessing we are really close?"

[sorry for the lateness. bath took a little longer than expected and then i started feeling queazy]
Midnight nodded her head slightly. "Yup," she said in a chipper tone of voice, though it sounded softer than it really should have. She pricked her ears up as she trotted into the small clearing that was surrounded by berry bushes. Gazing in the center, she noticed a small flower growing. Trotting over to it, she lowered her muzzle down near the flower and sniffed it gently. "It's just like I remember it looking," she said softly.

Apple smiled at the mare. Watching the mare's ears p***k up and she started trotting, Apple also picked up the pace and followed the mare into the small clearing. Licking his chops a little, the stallion reached over to the bush and took a berry from the bush it was hiden in. Carefully he took another, trying to avoid the thorns that might be sticking out of the bush. "It's gorgeous." Watching the mare walk over to a small flower he blinked a few times as she sniffed it.

Midnight lifted her muzzle away from the flower and gazed at Apple curiously to see him staring at her. She flicked an ear slightly as she diverted her gaze from the stallion to the bush he was standing next to. Seeing the berries, she trotted over next to the stallion and carefully began to eat the sweet berries.

Noticing the mare look at him, Apple turned his gaze to the bush he was standing next to. Bending his head towards the bush, the stallion nipped at some of the sweet berries. Licking his lips, Apple smiled then ate some more. "mmmm, these are good." He said taking a few more bites then he looked back at the mare with a big smile.

Midnight blushed faintly at Apple's reaction to the berry's sweetness. Nodding her head, she gazed around the small clearing and sighed. She used to spend many days here, but now she rarely came here. 'Maybe it is best for me to come here whenever I feel lonely,' she thought to herself, wondering if she would even come back here when she and Apple left to go to the rest of the human's "settlement". Perhaps she could find a new human to hang around within the next few days.

Mouth covered with juice from the berries, Apple licked his lips trying to get the delicious tasting juice off of his face. The berries were mouth watering to Apple, and he could barely keep himself from eating more. Looking at the mare, he again smiled hoping that she was feeling a little more comfortable around him. He did not want this mare to think he was crazy. Tilting his head a little, he wondered what the mare was thinking about, as he started to paw at the ground some.

Midnight flicked an ear as she heard a hoof pawing the ground. She knew it wasn't her hoof so it had to be Apple's. She turned her gaze towards the stallion next to her to see him staying at her. Blushing faintly, she took a few tiny steps away from him, instantly going shy again. She was doing so well getting used to being around others of her kin but now she had clammed up again. Sighing, she turned her gaze downwards, her eyes half-closed. "So, what do you want to do next?" she asked him in a shy voice.

Noticing the mare looking at him, Apple quickly stopped pawing at the ground, and turned his head. Seeing the mare's faint blush, Apple wondered why he made her blush. Smiling at the mare, Apple swiveled his ear towards the mare. Her sweet voice stuck in Apple's head. "I don't know, what do you want to do my friend?" The stallion asked feeling a little full from the berries that he was munching on earlier. Trotting in place, Apple stretched his legs then flipped his mane a little.

Midnight blushed a little darker as Apple trotted in place. She turned her gaze towards a tree before turning it back to Apple. She heard his question and she canted her head to one side. "I would love to meet your friend," she said in a soft voice.

Seeing the mare blush a little made the stallion want to ask her what he had done. Did he do something stupid, and she was embarrassed for him? Shrugging a little Apple smiled and tilted his head. "You want to meet my friend?" Maybe the mare misunderstood him. Thinking a bit, he thought of a way to cover up her answer so that she sounded smart. "Well I have a friend I want you to meet, but I don't know where she is." Looking around, he wondered where his friend Maylin had gone off to.

Midnight flicked her ears up as she heard Apple say that he didn't know where his friend was. It wasn't the sentence that made her p***k her ears up it was a single word-'her'. She had avoided others of her own gender because she had thought that they would judge her and shun her away. Here was a chance to get to know another mare and become friends with her. She nodded her head, the blush faded from her cheeks. "Maybe we can go find her. She must be around here somewhere."

Shrugging his shoulders, the stallion put his head down to the ground, like Maylin had taught him. "I don't know, she might be out hunting." Apple said wondering where his wolf friend ran off to. "She's a little blue wolf, I don't know where she might be." He said lifting his head back up to the mare's level. Looking into the mare's soft eyes, the stallion smiled. The stallion didn't have that many mare friends, so this mare probably wouldn't meet many mares through him.

Midnight canted her head to one side when Apple explained that his friend was a little wolf. She flicked an ear back against her skull and shuffled her hooves for a few seconds. She didn't know why Apple had made friends with a canine, but there must have been a reason why they were friends. Nodding her head, she glanced down towards the ground and began to look around as if expecting a wolf to be around. "Maybe she might be in the meadow? There might be something out there for her to hunt for."

Apple shrugged and smiled. "She is the greatest. She is very nice, and always is there to protect me." The stallion said thinking about the small blue wolf that wouldn't hurt a fly, unless it was time to eat. "She only hurts things when she wants to eat, but usually it is our two-legger that gets the food for her, and myself." He said smiling and sitting on the ground like a big dog for a second.
