I dont like MCR or AFI's remakes, it just adds to the Misfits having an untrue reputation of being an emo band.
If you listen to The AFI cover, you can tell that at the time, they were still more of a punk band. They only began to seem emo after the album "Sing the Sorrow" came out. Listen to the albums "Very Proud of Ya" or "Shut your Mouth and open your eyes." These are very punk.
But I, too hate MCR doing covers. They suck. I don't like Aiden's, either. Metallica I like.

I think Metallica has a more Misfitish sound, such as the Die Die My Darling and Lat Caress covers. The Halloween cover is ok, but I do not like AFI, nor do I like MCR or Aiden or even the NOFX cover.

I say AFI's cover of Holloween was one of the best. I thought the NOFX cover was "Meh" And I hate the MCR cover.

I hated AFI's Halloween cover, but I loved their Demonomania cover. I also hated the metallica covers. I dunno. I've just never been fond of his voice. But my favorite misfits cover would have to be Astro Zombies by 800 Octane.
