"How do I manage to get myself into these kinds of predicaments?" Syreen rhetorically asked Draco.
"What do you mean?" He responded shifting a little under her weight and twirling a lock of her hair around his finger.
"I'm talking about the Quiddich match. Who do I cheer for? My House or my boyfriend?" Sy explained not moving an inch from her comfortable Slytherin seat as he laughed at her predicament.

Angelina rolled her eyes in disgust as she and Fred walked by the two, who were sitting outside under the shade of a large tree by the lake. As if Syreen being with Malfoy wasn't bad enough, now her house loyalty was wavering. "Ridiculous," she muttered once she had passed them, earning a nod from Fred. "I mean, I'm all for house unity and everything, but honestly, Malfoy? The only Gryffindor he'll ever be nice to is Sy, and she's going all out for a git who's probably only with her to say he's dated yet another one of the seventh years."
"Well, if Malfoy ever made a pass at you-" Fred wound his arm around her waist defensively.
"Ha, I'd hex him," Lina laughed and kissed him quickly on the cheek. "Don't worry, then you could have a shot at him, but if he ever tried anything, I'd want first crack."
Fred grinned, turned her to face him, and kissed her, a bit longer this time. "I knew there was another reason I love you," he laughed as they pulled apart.
Angelina looked at him, smiling slyly. "So how many other reasons are there?"
"Too many to count, darling, too many."

"Uh oh," Sy said looking up just as Angelina and Fred passed.
"What's wrong?" Draco said, brushing her short hair off her neck and kissing it.
Sy bit back her laughter as Draco's kiss tickled her neck and finally managed to say, "I think she may have heard me trying to decide who to cheer for."
"Mmmmm." Draco groaned as he placed another soft kiss on her neck. "Don't worry about it. Wait in our room and read a book or something. I'll tell you about the game after I've showered. That way you won't have to decide who to cheer for."
Syreen couldn't hold it in any longer and laughed as she slid off Draco's lap and sat next to him. "Why do you insist on kissing my neck? You know I'm ticklish." She sighed then continued. "That'll work for my sticky situation, but it won't help me deal with her in the dorms. She'll probably tell everyone in the common room about my wavering loyalty. There'll be no living with them until the match if she does."
Draco shook his head and kissed hers as he continued to laugh at the things that were coming out of his girlfriend's mouth.

Back in the Common Room that night...
"We need to make sure we crush Slytherin in the match," Lina frowned and leafed through Quidditch Through the Ages yet again. The team was seated around her and the mood, aside from Lina's, was relaxed.
"Come on, Angelina, we always beat Slytherin," Ron yawned; it was probably midnight by now, if not later. "We don't need to stress out like this."
"I know we always beat them, but they are the only team who has ever given us a run for our money, and this match, we're going to make it look like we're playing Hufflepuff," Angelina spat angrily and ignored the portrait hole swinging open as Syreen returned from wherever the heck she went to snog Malfoy every night. "For the rest of the week, I want to do some one on one practice with each position, starting with Seeker, alright, Harry? Tomorrow, we'll practice from eight to...whenever I think we're good and ready for the game-"
Harry groaned at this. He knew they would be on the pitch as long as they possibly could be, and tomorrow was Sunday, there were no classes and the next scheduled practice wasn't until Slytherin had the field at two in the afternoon.
"Oh, don't whine," Lina snapped and rolled her eyes. "This book is so outdated. We need a new one. Alright, nine to whenever, because I need to go to the library and find a new book first. Monday, I'll work with Ron, then Katie and Alicia the next day, and Fred and George on Wednesday, then we'll scrimage the rest of the week, alright?"
The team shrugged, some nodded, and some just looked plain relieved. Others like George and Alicia looked horrified. They would much rather have practice every day than the one on one practices, because they were a terror with Angelina.
"Good, well, then, now you can all go to sleep, Harry, be on the field by nine, and the rest of you are excused from practice tomorrow. Night," she didn't move as everyone but Fred did, but leaned over the book once more in frustration. "Malfoy has better...everything than us, the best money can buy," she narrowed her eyes, ignoring that Syreen was still in the common room. "No doubt he'll have some moves he's been dying to try out, I hate to admit it, but he's gotten quite good. Harry and I have a lot of work to do," she groaned and sat back against Fred, eyes scanning the pages of the book frantically.

Syreen sat down in her favorite chair and finally spoke, "He is good, but his dad didn't buy any of the things he has, and it's not the equipment that makes the player. He'd be good on Fred's broom, no offense Fred." Fred shrugged. "I bet I could get Draco to help you and Harry practice or you could ask Cho. Whatever would help our team win."
Sy didn't look up from her gaze into the fire or more an inch from her spot in the chair. She just talked to the fire, but loud enough for Lina and Fred to hear.

Angelina nearly dropped her book. "You would convince Draco Malfoy to help Harry practice to beat him in a game?" She asked Syreen in surprise. "You could actually get him to do that??? By nine in the morning?"
"Harry's gonna hate you," Fred warned, whispering in her ear.
"I don't care," Lina snorted. "I want to win."

Syreen shrugged, even though she knew that they probably couldn't see. "I could try. I can't make any promises. But I know that he'd do almost anything for me, so I can try." I hope he loves me as much as I think he does. But I don't have another option to get Lina to forgive me for what I did to Harry. "If I can't get him to do it I'll find someone else to help him practice."

"I dunno, Lina," Fred whispered so Syreen couldn't hear. "Malfoy will never agree to it, or what if he jinxes Harry or something?"
"Oh, come on," Lina rolled her eyes. "We need to win this game, or we'll be behind Hufflepuff. That's embarrassing, Fred. We are not going to lose the cup to Hufflepuff this year." She sighed and turned back to Syreen. "It would be a miracle if you could get Malfoy to help us, but anyone who can give Harry a run for his money will work, too. Thanks, Sy."

Sy stood and smiled at them. "Yeah, It's no problem. Let me see what kind of miracles I can work."
Sy left the dorm. I hope she doesn't remember our second year.
In the Slytherin boys' dorm....
"Psst. Draco."
Draco groaned and rolled over. "What?" He focused and saw Sy. "Oh," he said in surprise pulling his blankets up a little higher. "How'd you get in here?"
Sy smiled at her boyfriend's modesty. "That's irrelevent," she whispered. "Could I borrow your broom for tomorrow? I want to fly around a bit."
"I could ride with you." Draco said through a yawn.
"No," Sy said quickly. "I kinda want to fly alone," she added with a smile. "You know, to meditate. Clear my mind."
"Sure," Draco said rolling over. "Go ahead. Leave it in the boys' changing room, since you clearly have no regards for the personal privacy."
Sy kissed his forehead. "Thank you," she whispered as she snuck back out the secret passage with his broom.
"Whatever," Draco yawned, going back to sleep.
Finally get my tryout . . . Stupid McGonagall . . . Stupid Oliver . . . Sy thought as she made her way back to the Gryffindor Commonroom.

The next day on the pitch...
"Did you happen to talk to Syreen this morning, Harry?" Lina asked worriedly and looked around, biting her lip.
"No," Harry frowned. "Why would I have?"
"No reason," Lina shook her head and sighed. "Alright then, let's get started. I'll let the Snitch out." She was halfway to the box when she noticed Syreen walking out alone...without Malfoy. Lina had an odd feeling about this.

"Hey, Lina." Syreen said walking over to her with Draco's broom. "Sorry I'm late. People kept stopping me in the halls and asking why my broom said Malfoy."
She walked over to an open-mouthed Harry and mounted Draco's broom. "Ready for practice?"

Lina shrugged and decided she would at least see what Syreen could help Harry improve on. She rolled her eyes and roughly pushed Harry's mouth closed.
"I'm letting the Snitch out, get up there, Harry!" She called over her shoulder and opened the box, ignoring the urge to go play around with the Quaffle and let the small golden ball fly out of the box, darting around Harry and Syreen, for a minute, then trying to escape, but Syreen lashed her arm out and grabbed it, much quicker than Harry ever had. "Woah," Angelina muttered, eyes wide and mouth hanging open.

Syreen casually gave Lina back the snitch. "I'll give him a head start."
Sy let Harry chase the snitch a little then took off like a rocket and caught it in seconds, then touched back down next to Lina. Things continued on like that for several minutes. Harry would chase the snitch and Sy would catch it.

Angelina was more impressed than anything, so it was hard to laugh, but Harry's disbelieving face made it manageable. "Alright, come back down you two," she called and caught the snitch Syreen tossed it to her. "Wow...where the bloody did you learn to fly like that Syreen? And where were you during tryouts last year?? Bloody, we could have used you on the team!"

Sy shrugged. "I'm not that good and I didn't want to take the spot from Harry." She stood next to Lina leaning against Draco's broom.
