rurica We read that last year xDDD redface I didn't catch the satire very quickly... That's ok, because that is the best kind of satire... when you think someone is making a serious point, and then it finally dawns on you. It always makes me think "Brilliant!" and I get a warm fuzzy feeling blaugh

It always makes me think "Brilliant!" and I get a warm fuzzy feeling blaugh true, true. I was starting to get worked up about it too, "Is this guy serious?! What the hell?! How could anyone..." Right about the time I was plotting a vicious rant, I realized the humor. Then I laughed until I died.

I used to be into the Redwall series, but.. then I fell out of it, I don't think I'll be able to get back in, I never really read them in any sort of order. I liked Outcast of Redwall.

I just started an awesome book last night. It's about an autistic boy who is trying to solve a murder mystery. It's really well done. I like it even more probably because I work with autistic and other mentally retarded folk everyday.
It's called "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" by Mark Haddon.

I read quite a few of the Redwall books (in no order) when I was in middle school. After reading a bunch of them though, all of the plots become repetitive. I wouldn't call it a great series.

I should also mention the wonder of Sir Thomas Mallory. Le Morte D'Arthur was amazing.

Don't forget the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis! I devoured those books.

I believe I had heard something about a new movie being made out of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. They're just one of those series' that are permanently appealing in all forms.

Indeed they are- but it's starting with the second book. Disney is doing it, but Weta (guys who did LOTR creatures) is the creative force behind it. I liked the old british mini series.

I *adored* the old British mini-series. I had heard they were skipping straight into the second book, but that is generally the most known one anyway.

I got a book that had all the stories in it for Christmas (even though I already read them all)
I've heard that he actually wrote the second book first and then went back and wrote the first.

I don't think they are doing the whole series. They are filming it here in New Zealand too. I think I heard it is nearing completion. Things like this are primetime news here in NZ. We knew about the LOTR movies 5 years before filming started!

Wow, remind me to never move there. I'm far too metro/goff/eurotrash/Godfatheresque to enjoy very much of that.
