Wheezing Smoker

Confusion set in once more over the man's face once more as he eyed the rock given to him instead of a hand shake. "Huh?" He expressed to show his confusion, shrugging his shoulders, he rested it on the counter in front of the girl and gave a small chuckle. "Keep your goods, little lady. I'll find something for you to do to pay off for your food..." The man laughed as he walked away, his hand raised in the air to wave good-bye.

Walking past Keri, the woman gave an amused grunt. "You never change, do you?" Marcus paused in mid-step next to the woman and lowered his head as a smirk played across his face. "Do I ever?" He questioned before continuing his trot back to the fireplace and warm leather chair. Keri gave a weak smile as she shook her head as she went into the kitchen. By the smell of things, the soup was done.

It was only minutes later did the woman in brown reappear with a hot bowl of soup and some silverwares. Resting them in front of the girl on teh counter, the woman gave a warm smile. "Here's some chicken soup. Should keep you warm." She cooed as she spotted the precious stone resting on the counter. Turning her attention back to the girl, the woman gave a warm smile. "Better hold on to that. It looks mighty valuable." The young woman said as she took her place back behind the ocunter in front of the girl.

Glancing over to the silent customer in the back, the waitress smiled as she moved a little closer from the bar side. "Miss, do you need a refill with your water?" She questioned, unsure if the girl was still lost in her writing/drawing.

Vay walked into the tavern, the moment she opened the door the first thought someone would have was a ghost opened the door, for her blueish skin and pearl white hair left her almost invisible against the snowy background. She took a few steps into the building and silently shut the door behind her. She was scantily clad in something that could resemble a bikini; it was white with a lot of unidentifiable jewels embedded into it. She wore knee high boots which were also white and had a lot of jewels that not even a professional jeweler could identify. Ice was stuck in her hair and her body had a sheen of snow that was quickly melting into icy water on her frame. Over the blue girl's arm was a blob of navy blue fabric which would have been a cloak that she usually wore.

She approached the counter and sat down, the coldness seemed to radiate off her person but she seemed completely unaffected to the fact that she was dressed for a beach party and that ice with hanging off of her.

As she watched the stone being placed infront of her, Maeve giggled. It was the first time in awhile that she was happy. Although she wondered why the offering wasnt accepted. She turned and waved at the man, although she wasnt quite sure what the gesture meant. The soup infront of her immediatly caught her attention. Smelling the sweet aroma of chiken and vegtables, Maeve closed her eyes to enjoy the moment.

She smiled at the woman in thanks. A shaky hand went over to the spoon and picked it up. Maeve looked at it. Holding it out to the woman she asked quietly. "Wha....what is this for....?"

Keri laughed at the curious nature of the little girl. Taking another spoon from the collection they kept beneath the wooden barcounter, The young woman then began to scoop out a piece of the chicken broth and brought it to her lips, gently blowing on it. "It's to help you eat your soup." She said as she gave a warm smile and sipped the hot soup from the spoon.

As she laid the silverware back beneath the counter, the woman urge the little girl to try. As she watched, her periphral caught sight of another new customer to the inn. Something was odd. Though she could see that it was a woman in a blue cloak, a cold aura seemed to radiate from her being. "Greetings and welcome to the Lost Soul Tavern and Inn!" Keri gave to the woman as her attention and gave her a small bow. "Is there anything we can get you, m'am?"

Marcus sighed as he also sense the new person enter the inn. Poking the burning logs once more, the man rested the iron stick at its place and went back to his chair and sat to relax. Oi, I guess the winter cold brings more customers than I originally thought. The dark haired keeper mused as he crossed his arms over his chest and stared into the flames. Oh well, as long as they pay, I don't care.

~A cloaked figure staggered through the door, and made his way to the nearest corner, leaning heavily on the wall. Once he'd reached the corner, he huddled down, and began to cough uncontrolably.~

~He fuddled Around in his robes until his hand wrapped around a thin vial of green liqued. Drinking it down in one gulp, his coughing eased, but he remained huddled in the corner, shaking slightly.~

Keri caught sight of the other newcomer and repeated the welcome to the man, however his state seemed less than favorable. Having a concern look plastered across the young woman's face, the woman wiped her hand clean with a table cloth and studied the dark clothed man.

"Sir, are you alright? Marcus, could you come here?" With that, the dark haired man suddenly appeared through the dining room doorway, studying its occupants. Upon his observation, the sight of the coughing man caught his attention the most. With noiseless footsteps, the innkeeper walked towards the man only to pause some distance away from the man.

"Sir, are you alright? Cold? Flu? Plague?" Upon mentioning the last part, the bartendress's left eye twitched at the thought, her mind praying he was infected with the deadly and highly contagious plague. Sighing, Marcus turned to the group and gave a motion with his gloved hands. "Every stay calm. I don't think he's infected with the plague. Appears to be something else." Turning his attention back to the ill man, the keeper named Marcus slid a chair towards him as he himself grabbed one to sit on.

"Tell me, stranger, what's wrong? I'm not the best doctor in the world, but I know enough to keep myself as well as others alive long enough to find one." He mused, his brown eyes narrowing upon the dark clothed figure. Either way, the man was ready for anything, for his experience taught him that nothing ever seems to be what they are.

Vay smiled kindly to the bartender before the next stranger walked in and started hacking and coughing and the bartender quickly moved to his aid. Vay as well stood to check out the man, she placed her cloak down on her stool before she approached the stranger.

"I know a bit in healing potions and elixirs if I can be of any help, but if I don't know what it is that ails you I'm afraid I can't help anyway." Her voice was concerned but she had a strange accent that said English was not her first language. She kneeled close to where the man was seated and stared up to his face.

~The man strained to turn and face them. The lighy caught in the hood of his robe, and a red glint could be seen trickling from the corners of his mouth. He spoke slowly, his voice raspy and weak.~ I appreciate the sentiment. However, I fear I'm not long for this world. ~He pulled back his robes slightly, revealing a deep gash that ran from his waist to his shoulder.~ It's of no consequense. My deed is done... I'm no longer needed. ~His eyes wandered for a moment, and he began to trail off.~ All I ask is that you find... find a suitable.... a place for my body... before they're here. Just don't let them take me....

A brow raised upon the tan visage of the innkeeper upon witnessing the huge gash across the man's body. Sighing, the man got up from his chair as one hand went behind his head to rub it for comfort. "Blah, that's pretty nasty." Turning his attention to Keri, Marcus's face harden to a stern expression. "Keri, get me Invision." Upon the request, his attention fell once more to the dying man.

"Hey, lay back on the floor. By the looks of it, blood lost is whats gonna kill you and not that bloody cut." Marcus uttered as he turned to the woman. "Do you have a sewing kit or some such? Keri! Bring me our first aid!" The man then shouted turned back to the two near him. Sighing another thought came to him.

"Also...who is exactly coming after you?" The question carried importance. If there was going to be trouble following after this man into his little tavern, Marcus might as well be ready for whatever comes. Just when I thought I left the excitement of adventuring...

~He did as the man instructed, and laid on his back. As he did, the hood slipped back from his head, revealing the face of a man who could be no more than twenty. His face wasdisfigured by a large burn covering it's left side. If one looked closely enough, they would see that the burn somewhat resembled the outline of a dragon. The man looked not at the people around him, but stared streight up.~ The Dak-nar... they will come.... They will finish... finish what they've started.... It's of no matter now. We've escaped... all escaped........ Alonious... poor Alonious... so foolish... why didn't you run with the others?

Keri quickly rushed back into the room and handed Marcus a large brown medical bag. Leaning in to his ears and whispering, the woman took a quick glance around the room. "I didn't bring Invision...I didn't want to spook our customers." Marcus nodded to what she said as he quickly openned the large case.

Inside the case was a variety of medical supplies as well as different types of herbs kept in small little glass vials. Keri stepped back and went to the little girl, hoping to comfort her some during the scene while Marcus turned to the other woman near him.

"You said you were good at making healing potions..." Going into the case, he removed a mortor, "I hope you are also good at making salves. If you could, take these two herbs as well as this aloe and grind it until it makes a thick paste." With that, gave all four items to the woman as his attention went back to his patient.

"Listen, I need you to stay focus and alert. Try not to close your eyes or else you will fall into shock and then we really will have to worry with what to do with the body." Giving a weak smile for assurance, the dark haired innkeeper then removed an odd clear rubber tube that connected to a glass jar then to another tube. At the top of the jar was an odd device that looked something like a pump. At both ends of the tube was a thin needle. "Because you lost so much blood, I'm gonna have to pump you with some blood..." Saying this, the man quickly rolled up the sleeve of his right arm and then went to roll up the sleeve of the man's.

"You will feel pressure in your arm, but it wouldn't hurt as much as that cut does." He assured as he quickly pierced his skin and slowly began pushing and pulling on the small pump. Quickly strains of blood from where the tube connected from Marcus started to ooze down to the tube and fill into the jar. Keeping his eyes on the badly wounded man, Marcus sighed. "Ma'm, once you are done with the compound, smear it over his cut." He then commanded as he watch the jar fill with his own blood.

Though she did know most everything about healing, alchemy and restoration of most sorts she did not carry anything but the clothes on her back. She took the mortar and the herbs, rushing to a table to set the stuff down and began to grind the herbs. She grinded them in portions, making sure to mix them together evenly but only doing so much at a time, it took a few minutes before she finished grinding the herbs into a thick paste.

Vay rushed to the injured stranger and dropped to her knees beside them, setting the mortar down on the grown beside the innkeeper as he gave blood.

((I'm back...if this post doesn't fit tell me and I'll re-do it (even from scratch if you ask!). I only know the past few posts while making this, since my character is just now walking it.))
A woman wandered close to the inn and stopped at the window, peering in. She had pitch-black hair and dark enough eyes to be called black, and wore a simplistic dark-shaded dress. She had a kind of beauty, but didn't seem to flaunt it much. A strange flow of dark energy seemed to surround her...
She tilted her head to the side slightly, but otherwise didn't react much to the scene. She had a cheerful, perky attitude, and it seemed it was untouchable by even injury, disease, or threat of death. Maybe she was just morbid, though...

A bad feeling overcame Marcus as he felt a presence outside, though it radiated an odd aura. Please tell me it isn't those creatures this guy is ranting about... A sigh escaped as he took one needle and forced it into the man's own flesh. Continuing his pump, blood from within the jar suddenly filled the other tube and into the other man's body. Glancing over his shoulder, the innkeeper had a grim face plastered across his tan visage.

Removing the needle from his own skin and pumping with the other hand, Marcus studied the paste and the woman, his head nodding. "Excellent. Now there is about a pint of blood in this jar I filled. Keep pumping untill there is none." Taking the paste, he quickly ran it over the cut on the man. "Heh, a little trick I learned from the Far East. Now you are gonna feel a sudden cold sensation run through this part of your body, but it shouldn't hurt." The man said as his hands skillfully ran along the cut in a gentle caress. "Now don't move when I'm finish. Give the paste some time to dry. When it does, it will act like stitches and help close the wound. A spiffy, but expensive trick." He mused as he finished and raised up, his attention towards Keri.

His eyes narrowed as his face bore a grim expression. Though it wasn't caused by the wounded man, the source of the solemn face was from what he said and the sudden feeling of someone watching. "Keri, get me Invision." He sternly commanded this time, not caring what his patrons might think. Nodding her head in a somewhat daze, Keri slipped into the back room where the ktichen was.

Turning his attention back to the two, his face slowly went dull from all this excitement. No one is going to destroy this inn..
