Spaz pocketed the shiny thinger, then shuffled over to Kali and gave her a huge, unsettling grin.
"Yeah, ten floors of FUN! Let's go go go!" He started walking again, waving for Kali to follow.

"Oh yeah, death traps, killer creatures, and bitchy computers, LOADS of fun." She rolled her eyes sarcastically and followed Spaz, looking around the forest as she walked.

The path ahead split into three...Left, Straight, or Right.
So many choices...just like Hometown Buffet!

Spaz tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Well, if right is right, then left--by proxy--must be wrong. So we should go right. It's the only logical choice." An idea suddenly struck him. "Hey computer lady, what's this shiny thing I got?" He held up the shiny crystal thing.

[Well done! I was hoping to mask the fact that she was still present.]
Ah. That crystal is a pretty rare item to get in your first battle...but, if you have proven yourself worthy so far, there's no reason not to use it! I'm sending the details to your plasma...now.
Soon, a detailed image of the crystal flashed onto your arm-bound screen. It was paired with a sketched outline of a human form. Accompanying bullet points described this process:
-Item: Neutral Moral Quartz -Function: Affects morality* 10 points in either direction -To absorb: Hold the crystal in any hand. Channeling your energy as if to apply any skill's effects, then cry out "Moral Charge!". -To select direction: After you feel the crystal begin to burn in the palm of your hand, bein thinking eithr dark or pious thoughts. If you do it right, the process will work and you will absorb the quartz. If not, the crystal will shatter, indicating failure. -*For help on morality, inquire about the topic.

Huh, well there's no time like the present. But which side should he take? The Spaz in him liked the thought of chaos and bloodshed, but weren't monks supposed to be good and stuff? Eh, what he needed was a way to have his cake and murder it too. He'd just play it by ear.
Focusing his energy as instructed, Spaz gripped the crystal in his right hand and,
"Moral Charge!" When the shiny rock started getting hot he closed his eyes and imagined smashing and slaughtering more stupid, weak monsters, jumping up and down on their corpses while laughing hysterically, and... uh, stealing candy from babies. Tasty AND evil.

A cold shiver flooded Spaz' body as the crystal melted in his hand. He faintly heard a low, ominous cackle in the back of his mind...
It was his own voice, projecting visions of what he could become...
Creepy.

"Come on Kali, let's find some more monsters to beat up!" Laughing like a... well, like a mental patient, Spaz trotted around the corner to the right. He was really enjoying this, it was like Disneyland, except everything was trying to kill them and it wasn't quite as creepy.

"See, it's just like I said. 'Right is wrong'. That's what I said." Spaz nodded to himself. He rapped on the wall constructed of pseudo-plantlife with his knuckle, just to make sure it was really there, and then turned around a few times checking the corners for any unexpected surprises.

Nope. Everything checked out.
Well, where to now?

((Dunno. Maybe she's just busy))
Well that was about the most boring thing ever. Turning around, Spaz jogged back the way he'd come, passing Kali along the way, and when he got back to the intersection he took the path that went left from their original route.

Before long, he was facing two more imps...and a cute little monkey!
OF DEATH.

Spaz laughed like the little sociopath he was and leapt onto the second Imp. Grabbing the sides of its head, he gave it his most unhinged, bloodthirsty grin and siphoned off a chunk of its soul.
