Namine wakes up very early the next morning from having a nightmare, feeling completely awake. She sighs and gathers her things, washing her face off in the stream before once again setting out on her journey. She follows the river as it cuts through what appears to be cornfields, the entrance of the next town just in sight. She picks up her pace a bit, hoping to get some clues from the townspeople that are awake.

Namine lingers into town, looking for any villagers who might be awake. After only spotting a few farmers tending their fields, she wanders into the bar at the Inn and passes the time. She pulls out her mother's diary, checking its pages for any details that might tell her which town she's in, and how far off from her parents' gravesite. She eventually puts the book away and talks to a few workers at the Inn, losing interest at their lack of information. She sighs and goes out to search the town.

After speaking to a few more of the elder citizens, she starts to head off again. Before she can even reach the edge of town, she is stopped by a boy with tawny skin and chesnut hair.
"Excuse me, but I heard you talking to a couple of the villagers...my name is Zell. You're Namine, right?"
"Yes, I am. Can I help you with something?"
"Your parents came to this village when I was 7 - I know because my uncle used to tell me stories about them. He joined them on their journey when they arrived, and once I heard of their death a year later I wasn't sure I'd ever see him again. You are traveling now to learn the mystery of their disappearance, aren't you?"
"I am. Did your uncle tell you anything when you were younger about where they were heading or what their purpose was?"
"He told me stories about your parents hunting down a powerful and dangerous enemy, one who's name he left unsaid. He did draw me a map of their route from back then. I could show it to you, if you like."
"I'd appreciate that very much."
"All right, then follow me. It's at my house just down the road."
Namine follows Zell back into town, her hopes restored.

Zell leads Namine through the door to his house, having her wait in the living room as he runs upstairs to fetch the old map. While she waits, she examines the pictures hanging on the walls, showing a smaller boy in them that resembles Zell. She smiles as she looks upon a picture of him standing next to a taller man, one with the same golden eyes but different features. She assumes this is his uncle. Unexpectedly, Zell jumps down the stairs, carrying a worn-out scroll in his hand.
"This is it. Over the years I learned the names of the actual locations on this map, so I wrote them down in red ink. I would insist you take it with you, but I was actually hoping I could accompany you on your journey. It's not exactly safe for a girl to travel so far away from home alone."
"You think I can't take care of myself?"
"No no! Like you, I also want to learn the truth behind my uncle's death. Since we have a common goal, I figured it wouldn't hurt to join you."
"...All right. Pack your things, but be smart with it. We should leave while the day is still young, since we don't know exactly how far away this next village is."
"Thank you. I'll be as quick as I can."
Zell rolls the map back up and bolts upstairs again, packing some essentials into a bag. After about 10 minutes of preparation, they head off out of town and continue along the road together.

Prinz awoke from his nap and stretched, "oi, i need to get more food later...." he shruged and continued down the path.
