Areli's nipped Jax's ear slightly, as if telling him to relax. She then nuzzled his neck, and turned her gaze to Cade. "Some birds do, other sing the most beautiful song." she said with a smile, nosing him lightly as well, hopefully to make him feel better.

Jax growled to himself, but said nothing more.
"I've only ever seen the ones that chatter." Cade said with a shudder. "They were so big back then." He shook his head. "I never knew that some of them know how to sing. They used to chase me away whenever I tried to talk to them."

"Some birds don't like lions, afraid that when they are older, the lion will try to eat them, but, if you are nicer to them, proove them wrong, you can show them. Just be nice to the birds that chirp." she said. "Yet don't be nice to those that caw." she added afterwards.

"But why not?" Cade wondered. "Are they scavengers that steal our food? Vultures caw, don't they?" He said, thinking back to when he had once felled a small meerkat, and vultures had gathered round him almost angrily.

"Yes, they are scavengers. Stay away from them... but the smaller, humming birds, are not half as mean as they are." she said with a calm smile on her muzzle.

"Oh." He fell silent again, as if contemplating what she had just heard. "But why can't vultures hunt on their own?" He asked, ever eager to learn more than he already knew.

"They aren't half as fast, or strong enough to get their own food, so, they wait for it to be killed for them." she said. She wasn't compleatly sure to tell the truth, but, she thought she was close.

"Ohhh. But how come they weren't made to be faster or stronger?" He suddenly started wondering. "How come there are scavengers about?"

"I don't know. I didn't make them." she said, looking at him. "Everything has a reason they were made, and no one really knows. The scavengers were made to pick up what the lions and other creatures left behind. Its their job... I'm not sure why." she said.

"But the... hyenas do that too, don't they?" Cade blurted out suddenly. "If there's already vultures, then how come there are hyenas around too? They're meaner than vultures. And I don't like how they laugh."

"Oh, okay." He said with a smile. At least he'd learned. He was so different from Jax, in that his half brother would have suddenly turned sulky and stalked away, and he would look at the good side of things and realize that at least he had learned something from it all, even if it hadn't been all that he'd wanted to learn about.

Slightly giving a breath, she walked over to Cade and Areli. Giving a deep breath, she got the courage to speak. "H-Hello. I'm Synda...who might you be?" Her tail gave a little wave. Synda hoped that they wouldn't be as mean to her as Brooke was. She held no quarrel against the blue lioness, just confusion.

Jay padded through the grass, purring as he did. The purple form of the Shaman followed him, letting him lead the way. It had worked! He was so happy, and anxious. Every now and then, dusk purple eyes would glance back at Tay-yibah, running over the bulging sides.
Every now and then the lioness would grunt, making a face as a kit dug a appendage into a organ. Then she would smile, and he would smile too.
It was true that he didn't care for the small, yowling bundles but this was different. His! And not only his!
Spying a flat boulder, the Dark Prince hopped up on top of it. The roar that was let out scared the nearby birds into flight and the preybeasts into a panick. The Consort was home again, and he had good news.
