The king returned to his pride, a proud step to his walk as he moved inside the cave. the smell of fresh killed hit his nostrals and he looked tothe dead antelope on the cave floor. He had heard the last reminants of the conversation between his den mother and the young Kun Yi. He was surprised that the adolescent could hunt as well as she could, a shame to lose such a fine hunter.
He passed Leanna at the enterance and glanced around, Nola and Akira at play, young forever in their minds and in Ling's. Shaitani and Kun Yi, strong, formidable. Ling had hear the rumors of their leaving, he would speak to them each in turn about that.
He moved to the center of the cave, his eyes guarding the young cubs and the others. He was calm, very calm as he thought, perhaps, just perhaps Xia would take him up on his offer. Perhaps it would no longer feel like the odd one out.
He looked to Shaitani for a moment before speaking. "Shaitani..." his voice was low, prepared. "A word with you..."

Maribelle had seen the large king enter the cave. She hadn't seen another lion like her dady,..till then. She wanted to go say hello, but she didn't want to be rude, and leave the other cubs. Plus, he had already requested council with one of the other pride members,...she would just have to wait. So, with a happly smile, and the flick of her tail feathers, she turned her attention back to the pther cubs.

The king took note of a new face in the crowd. He nodded the small cub and smiled. He would see about her later, right now were the pressing matters. "I welcome you to my pride little one..." He fell silent then, waiting for Shaitani.

Shaitani was about to reply to Kun Yi and Leanna in turn when Ling confronted him. His cool demeaner returning, eyes becoming almost lifeless as business pressed upon him, he tensed his muscles, looking bigger than he actually was, carefully etching out all of his words, he looked Ling square in the eyes, "Yes, what is it?" His voice was cool and smooth, showing no strength or weakness, emotion or lack thereof. He didn't really have to ask the question, because he had a general idea. However, he needed to remain 'clueless' in times like these, not letting his wits get ahead of himself.

A small black bundle was curled up under a palm frond. Dark gray stripes decorated the black pelt, paws swathed with some white. The little female was shivering, in shock from the attack she had suffered earlier. Not to mention a lengthy run.
Blaze mewled pitifully, trying to lick the wounds on her rump. Three, fresh claw swipes marred the coat.

Leanna opened her eyes and looked at the scene before her. She wondered what Ling would do about the two leaving. Sighing softly, she slowly got up and quietly slipped out of the den. She was thirsty and thought a cool drink, as well as some time alone, could help her out. As she came upon the lake, a sound came to her ears. It seemed to be in pain. Suddenly, blood filled her nostrils. Leanna quickly responded to the mewing and began to follow it, giving off reassuring chuffs and growls as she went. Soon, she found the injured cub alone and quite pitiful looking. Leanna's heart began to freeze in her chest at such sight. "Oh..." She breathed softly leaning down to the baby. Carefully, she began to clean the baby's wounds as well as purr to the young one. "Shh..hush now.."

Something was nearby. The mewling stopped and she held herself completely still. Then a soft voice and a rough tongue licking her wounds. A comforting smell reached her nostrils' and the liger relaxed. This new lioness almost smelled like the other one who had helped her, named her.
Blaze shifted towards the warmth, wanting to be near the dark-colored female. "...hu-hungry..."

Nola giggled a little as Akira helped her up. "Its ok. My name is Nola Meribelle. This is Akira." She gestured to the male next to her. "Would you like to play with us?"
Adelle moved towards the front of the cave and waited to speak to Ling about staying with the pride. She had not asked yet formaly and she liked to keep things like that straight.

Ling nodded to Shaitani and moved furher back in the cave. "Come with me..." He sat in the back of the cave, waiting for the other to join him before speaking. "I have heard rumors of your wanting to leave us." He sized up the male and waited for his response to him.

Sensing the baby's hunter, Leanna carefully picked her up by the scruff. Forgetting her own thirst, the female walked slowly toward the den. As she entered, she was oblivious to her surroundings and the others. Going toward Kun Yi's kill, she placed the baby down near to it and began tearing strips of meat off the carcass. Placing a few infront of the infant, she sliced it up small so the baby could manage the food better. Leanna never left the black kit's side, her whole body wound around her. The magenta lioness suddenly felt like a mother again.

The black cub curled up into a ball when the Den Mother picked her up. Neon pink eyes watched the surroundings, amazed at the various shades of green the oasis plants achieved. When Blaze was carried into the den she tried to shrink into a smaller ball. Her experience with Prides was a bad memory.
The coolness of the cave was welcome and the babe looked around for a bit before she noticed the meat in front of her. With a small growl the baby pounced on the meat, ripping into it with abandon. The liger never noticed the lioness's presence until her tummy felt near to bursting.
"Thank you." Solemn pink eyes gazed into Leanna's.

He remained standing, making himself level with the larger male, "What you've heard is true," he replied, voice remaining smooth and unbothered. He wasn't going to offer any more information than needed quite yet, nor was he going to tell anything that was uneeded.

"I wish you luck in the future, Shaitani..." He nodded tot he male, knowing that there really was no real reason for this talk other than to satisfy his curiosity. "I've seen how you look at Kun Yi...you love her?" He glanced out of the dark shadows in the direction of the teenaged lioness. "She has hunting skills that go unmatched in this pride...She is a great asset to me, I think you realize that."

"And I to you. I feel bad leaving this pride - you gave me a home as a cub, and put up with me. However, I feel the need to xplore further than the grasslands and create a home for myself." He sat now, seeing as the conversation was slightly more relaxed than he had expected. As the discussion rolled quickly to Kun Yi, his eyes softened.
Nodding, he lowered his voice, wanting no one els ein the pride to hear what he was about to say. "Yes, I do love her. And while I do realize that she is an excellent hunter, and extremely important to your pride, I have no intention of leaving without her."
It was completely out of character, and he had no intention of showing that he did, indeed, have red blood pumping through his cold, blackened heart to anyone else of the pride except Ling and Kun Yi. "I respect you both more than I have respected anyone in my life, and even more than I respect myself..."
His mind flashed back to the massacre of his family, and how he had just stood by and watched while they were heartlessly murdered.
"...and while I understand that the need of your pride is very important, I cannot put it before the rest of my life."
