*mutters* a work in progress that I need a break from.. day and a half to ink, the rest of the second day to flatcolour, I'm entirely tired of this piece. ._.
http://img.playtragic.net/random/rylena-mace_prev3.jpg
done entirely with tablet, sketch in openCanvas, ink + flatcolour photoshop.
:/
and yea, I still gotta put the spikes on the mace thingy. |:

Took about 1.5hrs on this, changed a lot, erased alot, but tried to make it look good. Only part I like is the hair ^^; Done in PS7 with just the paintbrush and eraser.

alright, not posting art yet, but I might soon.... I just bought a tablet today, and I need advice for what to practice with to get good at using it... any of youuse tablets, and anything you did that really helped you get good at using it aside from just using it?

Put a sheet of paper over the tablet and draw on that when you're working with the pen. Otherwise, there's no friction and it doesn't feel as natural.

I have a tablet, but I just used it enough to get used to the feeling. Not the same feel as paper, but if you doodle with the tablet enough, you'll be used to it in no time 3nodding

Tablets are uber strange, but they're so much better than mice.
Make sure you're in a comfortable position when you use it. I find it helpful to use short strokes [meaning, release the pen from the board at shorter intervals] instead of long strokes where possible. It gets frustrating coloring for a long time, removing the pen from the board, then realizing I colored it wrong so I have to "undo" the entire thing I colored, instead of just the part I don't like.
[Hope that made sense.] xd heart

I'm hoping to post a colored version of the plushie I already posted in a day or two xp

heart I love this thread! There's so much great art around. I think it helps inspire me, even though I don't think I could ever be as good as most of the people here. But oh well. sweatdrop whee
