Ling respected the fact that the other wanted to keep things quiet about his love for the other. Shaitani was not unlike himself on that account. He nodded and sighed. "I cannot let you take someone this important from me without fighting for her, Shaitani. We will fight...one on one..." He sighed and lowered his head. "But know this, if you win you will have earn the highest respect I can have for you...and you will have the respect of this entire pride."
The king smiled that the young male, he really did hold alot of respect for this one, he was one of the few males he hated to see leave, but he knew it was nessassary.

Shaitani sighed, knowing that it would come to this, "I understand that we must fight... And there is no way that I can leave quietly. I just wish that it did not have to come to this." He was being completely honest with the king. There was no way that he was going to leave this pride without Kun Yi and if he lost, he would stay until he was strong enough to defeat the king for his mate.

"There is a way...that the fight would not have to happen.." He smiled and relaxed his body slightly. "Though I doubt your mate would take to it, she has hated me from the moment she set foot in this cave." He sighed and tore at the ground with his paw. "She would have to come to me, ask me to let her go and give a reason...She would have to show me the respect she has denied me from the begining."

The Dragon lioness had been watching Leanna and the new cub since Ling had taken her King away to talk. The new cub was interesting, to say the least. Gray stripes on a black pelt? She had never seen a lion like that before. The red and black lioness opened her mouth to ask Leanna about her when the fur on the back of her neck prickled. Someone was talking about her.

He took in a sharp breath that got caught in his throat. He could never ask that of Kun Yi... He looked to Ling, eyes no longer icey, "I doubt she would agre but..." he turned from the king, returning to his queen, body sagging, having a feeling that he would regret what he would ask of her now. He hated the idea of asking her to go against her feelings, but he also hated the idea of fighting the first lion he had respected in his life.
"...Kun Yi..." His voice was soft, sullen, and hesitant, unlike how he had ever sounded before, because for once, he was swamped with uncertainty and worry.

She nodded at the child and slowly began to lick her wounds again. Once finished, the magenta lioness began to hum a soft lullaby to soothe the young one. She rested her head on one of her forepaws as she used her tail to lull the babe asleep. Her ears flicked slightly as she heard the others talk. It was probably about Kun Yi and Shaitani leaving, no doubt in her mind. These matters did not concer her. Leanna concentrated more on the child infront of her trying to make her comfortable as possible.

Blaze curled up against the Den Mothers stomach, nose tucked under her paws. With the lullaby in her ears and the full stomach she was hard kept to stay awake. In minutes, the little liger was asleep.

The red lioness glanced at her King, eyebrows knitted together at the tone of his voice. "What's wrong, Shaitani?" On the outside she seemed calm and relaxed, inside she was feeling just a tad nervous.
He settled himself down next to her, knowing what Ling wanted of him, but also knowing he could never do it. "...I have to fight Ling," he said quietly. He shifted uncomfortably, knowing there was another option, but disliking it as much as, if not more than having to fight the King.
The Dragon placed a paw against his chest. "Have to or want to?" She asked.
He felt better as she touched him, restrengthening him, "I have to," he said, purring softly. He wouldn't say that he wanted to... He dreaded the day that he could gain or lose everything. However, it was important that they fight so Kun Yi and he could leave to their own lands to begin anew, able to watch over their own lands and pride.
Amethyst eyes glanced back to the black-and-white figure in the back of the cave. "Is there another way?" To have all the options would mean an informed decision. There had to be more then one way for Ling to let go of her.
Hesitating, debating whether to tell her, he thought of what could happen as a result. It was possible that others would lose respect for her, and Shaitani wouldn't tolerate something like that. "There is, but I would rather fight him than it," he said, nuzzling her gently. "The other is much less desireable."
"You would rather fight him then use this other decision?" The female nuzzled him back, gently biting a black ear.
He nodded, biting her ear back playfully, "Indefinantly."
Kun Yi growled lightly, the paw in her mates chest pushing. "I need that!"
He inhaled lightly, stiffening his chest against her soft paw, "As I need mine, but we don't always get to keep what we need," he said, winking.
"Oh, you!" For the first time in her stay in the Pride, the red and black lioness almost laughed. "What about your tail, you don't need that." Her other paw reached for the feathered tail.
He held it just above the reach of her paw, chuckling, "So now you choose the feathers, huh?" He waved it, provoking her paw with the black and red feathers.
She growled again. The teen watched his tail feathers intently, paw quivering in the air. A slight tensing of her body would have been the only sign before she slammed her paw down. Damnit! She'd missed!
He patted her on the head with his tail, casually licking his paws, chuckling at her failed attempt, "The greatest hunter of the pride can't catch a tail," he teased, still licking his paws, flake quivering with every movement.
Amethyst eyes continued to watch the tail before smirking. With a roar, she pounced on her King, pinning him to the floor and grabbing his tail. "Oh really?"
Eyes gleaming, Shaitani pushed her up off the ground, rolling over and pinning her down, "I guess so," he said with a smirk.
"Eep!" The dragon wiggled, testing his strength before collapsing. The Hunt and this playtime drained the last of her strength. "You're heavy..." Not that she was really complaining.
He chuckled again, stepping off of her, "That's something I enjoy hearing daily," he said, a look of puzzlement now on his face. He nuzzled her, soft once more, "You look tired..."
"Just give me a few hours..."
He smiled, "Take all the time you need - You needn't overexert yourself, especially not for the sake of the pride," he said, joking on his half, but not on hers. He knew she didn't like it here, and while he did, he couldn't expect her to care.
"Hmph!" The teen rolled her eyes. "As if..." She curled, her flakes brushing over her nose. "I'm going to sleep now." The tired lioness made good on her word and was snoozing away within seconds.
Sighing, resigning from the discussion, seeing that she was already asleep, he curled up beside her, laying his tail across her body posessively. And while he lay there, looking the exact opposite of threatening, his senses were alert, and if anyone dared to threaten Kun Yi, he would be at their throat in seconds.

Ling sat in the shadows, Xia had not returned to the cave yet, and that scared him, but he would search for her later, she needed time to think. The king listened to Kun Yi and Shaitani talk, it was good that they had found each other, it was a shame he had to do what must be done.
He looked ot Kun Yi and then the male, knowing that he would not tel lher this second option. He rose from the cold stone ground of the cave and moved over to the couple. He looked directly at Kun Yi, letting her know that there was no getting out of this. "Come with me...We have things to talk about, you and I"

The dragon lioness stopped in midstretch when the other male approached her. Jaws snapped shut in mid-yawn with a loud crack. What did he want to talk to her about?
The teen got up and moved to the entrance, stepping around Leanna and the new cub. She threw an aggravated look over her shoulder, leaving the cave. No, she wasn't annoyed that he wanted to talk to her. Kun Yi was still tired and only wanted to sleep.

Ling moved from the cave with her. He made certain they were both far enough away from the cave before speaking to the teen. "Shaitani has made you aware of the situation that I and he find ourselves in?" He made the sentance sound more like a statement of fact than I question. "Has he informed you of the existance of a second option for you both?"

She really was tired. She waited for the second yawn to end before answering. "I had a feeling there was a second option." Now she eyed Ling with wariness. "What is it?"

The king continued ot walk on, not really feeling like stopping as they talked. He was restless, concerned and worried. "The second option is for you to come to me and request that I release you from the pride. You must give a reason, a good reason. I can tell that dislike your place here, and me, but those will not count towards your release. You ill have to show me respect, the same respect you've denied me since you came to us, little Kun Yi"

Shaitani watched with narrowed eyes as Kun Yi followed Ling from the cave. It's not that he did not trust Ling, or that he was worried about Kun Yi. He was only curious as to what they were going to say, wanting only to keep Kun Yi safe form anything... even if he knew Ling wouldn't threaten her - natural instinct.
