I'm having waaaaaay too much fun with these. mrgreen I played around with some gradients on this Hyena. It looks ok, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted. Here's a cute little Mouse familiar designed to look like a zebra. After I got done warming up on those two, I moved on to make a pair of lions, first cub stage, then the adult form. I just did the flat color for them both. First, a summer-y female, Cub and Adult. Then a winter/frost themed male, Cub and Adult. The last is my very favorite. I tried out a new method of shading on him and it came out better than I thought it would. Behold! Dragon Lord Kazul!

Yuh, brush abuse much. And the shading is pixely and rather random on the wings. If you're looking for a job, you'll be better off going to the Pricing, Assistance and Suggestions Forum. There you can find shops willing to hire you. Much better strategy than parachutting out of nowhere into a shop that isn't currently looking to add anyone else, not to mention there are people in here that are as or more talented that would love to be colorists and aren't. Though you are welcome to hang around and socialize. Quite amazed that's all you learned from having classes though, compared to others who didn't and learnt by themselves <<...

I know this shop isn't looking for people to work as colorists right now. If they were, I'd have put a lot more effort into that bunch and your right, I wouldn't have used the brushes as much. I was just having fun coloring those while I was sick and excused from going to class. That's the sort of thing I do when I'm bored and I'm trying to get my creativity going. And about the classes, actually I only started those this semester and they've focused more on photo-manipulation and restoration than on painting stuff. I have learned a few really neat tricks along with a good basic foundation, but most of what I do I HAVE taught myself. sad Sorry if it seemed like I was begging for stuff. It looked to me like this thread was just for people to have fun playing with the lineart, so that's what I was doing. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to. I just like to see what others think of some of my scribbles from time to time. I like it when people enjoy them. Here's one of my better ones, for what it's worth. If it looks a bit pixely, it's because I saved it as a gif.

You knew after being told, which isn't a good way to start things. At least with me, I was miffed to see someone drop out of nowhere with that entrance >>... but that's another story razz .
Then next time you apply for something don't pull the classes as a trump card wink .
And it is for people to have fun, making their concepts to life and the like. If you're here for praise, tis your choice, even if a little out of tune from the main concept of this thread (and shop, really).
Oh, different shading style altogether. Don't see where the light source is though, it's rather undefined. Next step to work on?

I'm impressed! I think that is absolutely gorgeous! <3
I really like the soft and furry look, I would love to see more. As for coloring the lines, you're allowed to do whatever you want with them as long as you do not steal or claim them as a pet. Don't feel bad, coloring the lines is completely fine heart
