Leigh stared at the Professor, aghast. "I-I don't know. Probably," she said, face shrinking. "I didn't realize how horrible that stuff really was."
Ray returned shortly with another, fresh quill and a long roll of parchment. "And I wrote my History of Magic essay with that quill, too," he said, sitting back down and beginning his assignment anew.

Leigh squirmed. "Yes. I suppose. But we'll get into so much trouble," she said, in a mortified whisper.
Ray looked up at the girl that Desiree was glaring at. "No idea. We've never spoken. She's always in the Common Room, though."

"Oh..." She quickly averted her gaze and returned to writing her assignment while speaking in hushed tones. "She's like Craig. Seems to think I feel I'm better than you or something. She probably has it in her head that we're dating too." She glanced up at him with an almost worried expression. "What if somebody has been spreading rumours that we're together? Like...like Casa Nova or Craig or Jess? I mean...it's not as if we haven't given them evidence for their claims."

Ray shrugged. "It's not as though anyone needs to spread rumors. I mean, most people think so. They just assume, since we're always together and such...I thought you said you didn't care?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at Desiree.
Leigh almost whimpered. "But then we'd be lying, and that's something altogether different."

"Well...no I don't" She bit on her bottom lip, as though she were concentrating very hard on ther assignement, though her pen had stopped moving. "I mean, I know I shouldn't, but, well I wouldn't want people to assume thigns unless..."

Ray shook his head dismissively. "Let people think whatever they want to think. It'll be a waste of energy trying to set things straight. It'll die down. Or not. Who cares?"

"I guess you're right. I mean, if we were dating, then that's wonderful, let everyone know. And if we're just good friends, well, let them be overly hormonal and make assumptions." She gave him a warm smile and returned to her assignment, finishing in record time.

Ray took considerably longer than Desiree, stopping and reading over what he had written every few minutes to make sure it was correct. He finished, and carefully put away his assignment. "They're just hungry for more gossip. Never satiated," he said, as though disappointed in the behavior of his peers.

"Well think of it this way I didn't know that the mimbules thingy would shoot out so much stinkcap..........did you? And we dont have to say that it was a prank we are just telling part of the truth not all of it...........wait I think I just said something logicall maybe I'm feeling ill I should be in the Hospitial Wing not Professor Trenny." Jackson finiished trying to cheer her up.

Leigh smiled feebly at her friend. "Okay. We'll go and apologize. Once he's out of the hospital wing. Maybe he won't be as angry then," she said hopefully.
