Kitsune_Dakota Around here, staff at Tim Hortons aren't allowed to have free baked goods. Everything gets thrown out at the end of they day, and staff can get fired if they take anything. A friend of mine had to throw out an entire cake once, she wasn't allowed to even take a piece of it. sad Wow, that's really weird. neutral I've never, ever heard of something like that before. People always say to go work at places they sell food (i.e. DQ and Tim's -- good food) because you get free snacks. So, they check the trash to see exactly what was thrown in and, if any, what wasn't?

I would imagine not, but the shift supervisor probably makes sure that the staff doesn't take things home. I think it's ridiculous, they could be giving that food to the food bank or something.

It's a head office decision. If they donate the throws to food banks or whatever and people wind up getting sick from it for some reason or another, it would look really bad. To avoid some huge crazy lawsuit, they just throw everything out.
I can see the good and bad points to both sides of the argument, so I just cringe slightly everytime I have to throw something. sweatdrop
That's nuts, though. We get free donuts, Timbits, muffins, tea biscuits, cookies, bagels, sandwich buns and baguettes. Soup and bottled drinks cost $1.00, sandwiches and chili are $1.50, and everything else is 30% off. 3nodding I don't buy groceries, I just eat at work. xd

That must be nice. And what about those bread bowl soups!? Gaaahhh. Not only was the idea the coolest, but it was SO good. O_O; Haven't seen it really since I had one (for the first and only time) though.

Well, the old gang is starting to unravel. We're inevitably going our seperate ways (these all my real-life friends, but I'm gonna name 'em off anyway).
James has already moved down to Victoria, and Chris will soon follow suit. Sebastian is making plans for his post-secondary (as am I), Dustin is already going to the community collage, and Paul has decided to plant his roots here.
So, next Monday, what's left of us (okay, we're only out one member xD) is going down to ye olde arcade for one last nostalgic round of Laser Tag, followed by Boston Pizza.

D: That's really sad. It's why I'm really, really dreading the end of this upcoming school year. It's inevitable though, isn't it?

Veelah D: That's really sad. It's why I'm really, really dreading the end of this upcoming school year. It's inevitable though, isn't it? Yep, that day comes as surely as any will. For me it wasn't too hard. I haven't seen most of my highschool friends in more than a year, but that's not so bad. Your really close friends you'll see more often. When I came home from Fredericton for Christmas I partied with all my old friends for new years. It was a good time. It's good to see them again, but I don't really miss them so much. Maybe I just wasn't that close to them.

Yeah, but it's not the same... I mean, I suppose you do make new friends, and that makes losing touch with old ones less hard, but there are still all the memories... [/Sob]
I knew this person who graduated last year, and I was depressed for him. And I was depressed for myself (future-self) too a bit maybe sort of. All I can say is my future friends are going to have some big shoes to fill.
I'm bad at keeping in touch with people. Why is that? I should be good at that. Everyone should. mad

I suppose I just ought to be thankful that I'm not graduating any time soon. It's kind of hard to think like that, after all that "I don't like school" stuff. sweatdrop I've been in the same school since grade one, so I've made quite a few friends there.

Grade..............one? I've been in the same school since grade seven. :/
Oh, by tha way, Ahab. Accept all Join Requests now. It helps to just put your hand on the screen and not read them, that way even the horrendous ones get passed! It's worked amazingly for me. Did you know we've fallen to third, on the third page, now? This calls for drastic action. In fact, Ahab, I'm good now. You can stop manning the Requests completely.
