Beans closed his eyes. Tears were forming at the corner of his own eyes, as well. "Yes. Do you need me to make anything for you? Breakfast for dinner, and later, Claire would probably be more than happy to prepare and send some food to you every now and then."
Iris was not as well off as Beans was - he had a loving wife to-be. Iris could use all the help she could get, he would wager.

Iris shook her head, "I don't know anymore...damnit....." she sat st her table again, "It was simpler when all I had to do was my job and worry about my fish..now...now...." she desperatly tried to wipe the tears from her eyes.

Beans walked in and looked around. Then he sat at the table and looked at Iris. "The only thing to do is to go on. We have to..." he wiped tears away from his eyes, "we have to grieve, but we have to keep going, too, you know?"

Beans just sighed. "I know. I know," was all he said in reply. The kitchen was part of the living room, as was standard apartment structure, and a bar separated the two. The table... that was just Iris' addition.
Standing, Beans went over to the kitchen. "When did you eat last, Iris?"
