User Image"The King is doing quite well despite his illness. He had fallen asleep moments ago. No doubt exhausted from the banquet. Though I guess it's best that he stays asleep as to not strain himself." Vandraya thought long and hard about Grant's report on what was happening. The Queen gently lay the King's hand down and got to here feet. "...Unworldly force...Captain." She spun around to face him. "I need you to take me to the library immediately. Leave your man here with the King, all I need is you to accompany me."

Grant thought this to be an odd command. "Your Highness. This doesn't seem like a good time to read a book. We have to find the source of this problem before we go back to regular activities." Grant said feeling that it was best to limit movements of the most important members of the castle and keep then in area's heavily guarded.

User Image"I know your concern Grant, but I need to find the royal archives now. It may explain what is going on. Besides if something was suppose to happen to one of us, don't you think it would have already happen." She place an hand on Grant's shoulder. "Things are going to get more confusing before it makes sense. So why not try to figure some of it out using the royal archives."

"We aren't letting kids in and I'm pretty sure-"

The Knight on the left couldn't finish before Grog delivered a right punch into his gut. The other Knight couldn't react in time as Grog elbowed him using his left elbow. Knights were trained for combat, but this was a bit of a surprise the guards weren't ready for. Grog wanted to take out the guards himself because Sylvan always aimed to kill her opponents and Grog would only knock them unconscious. If the two Knights guarding the door knew these kids were dangerous, they would have been ready. The other Knights in the King's Chamber came running into only to see a tall chubby kid standing over two unconscious Knights with a little girl behind him. These Knights were ready and expected the children to be dangerous, so battle ensued. Grog and Sylvan were skilled in the ways of combat and used magic with their abilities, so they were both equal for a few standard Knights to fight. Grog was fighting three Knights and Sylvan was only able to take on two. Neither the Knights nor the mercenaries were able to gain the upper hand; the two groups were in a stalemate.

Grog wasn't fast, but he knew exactly the rights unarmed moves to avoid the weapons of the Knights, but his punches were slow and easy to dodge. The Knights and Grog were basically doing a dance of death that would start with Grog pivoting and then doing a devastating slow punch only to have one of the Knights avoid it. Sylvan was extremely fast, but the Knights she was fighting were good at predicting where the white blur that was Sylvan would strike next. If Sylvan used a smaller weapon, she would have a better chance of hitting one of the Knights, but her broad sword was more for intimidation.

"True information on who is attacking would give us an edge your highness." Grant said lowering his head and eyes slightly in respect for the Queen's rank."But our men are trained in the art of receiving an attack." Grant made clear. "The art of war is not about rushing in and attacking. True a good sneak attack can work in cases where you need to over come a larger force. But in this case the enemy has made their presence know which means their going to try and overpower us with a large strategic attack. To counter act we mu.." Grant was interrupted by a crash down the hall. Looking up and then to the door Grant barked out some orders. "You two! Go see what that was and report back." Grant then moved closer to the door but not close enough to allow a sudden attack to catch him.

"Grog! Incoming!"

Sylvan could sense movement coming towards the fight and they couldn't handle anymore Knights at the moment. Sylvan was most useful when it came to surprises, so the Knights coming in didn't know who they were dealing with and thus making Sylvan have an opportunity to sneak attack them before their fellow Knights could warn them about Sylvan's quick attacks. As the two Knights came in to see what the hustle was about, they could only see two of their fellow Knights yelling to get back, but it was too late. Sylvan had the element of surprise and hit both of the incoming Knights with the hilt of her broad sword. This only stunned them, but she followed up with a whack to both their heads using the blunt side of her sword.

The two incoming Knights only saw a white blur before feeling two moderate attacks on their helmets, before becoming dizzy and tripping over the other two unconscious Knights. These two Knights were however, fully awake and were just waiting for a moment to strike at one of the children. Grog and Sylvan were none the wiser and kept fighting the original five Knights they contacted. When Sylvan was focused in fighting the two Knights again; the other two presumably knocked out grabbed Sylvan by her legs and kept her immobile.

"Got ya, runt-s**t!"

Before the Knight could finish, Grog was there to help Sylvan by basically running towards the two new Knights; knocking all the other Knights off their feet.

"Put her down...Now!"

Grog took advantage of Knights since both of them were holding on to Sylvan, they couldn't dodge his fist strikes to both of their stomachs, knocking them both out for real this time. Grog and Sylvan were now left back at where they were; fighting five Knights with Grog battling three and Sylvan battling two.

((Did this RP die?))

[Suddenly, the echo sound of the clock ranged out throughout the castle. It was now 2am, and everything seem to fall into silence. The glowing faded off and the light flicker back on. Back in the banquet hall the guest wonder with amazement as the doors slowly unlock themselves and open.]

The queen let out a deep sigh. "Alright Captain, if you feel that is best. I'll cooperate." That's when they heard the loud crashed down the hall. Perhaps he knows more then I thought. As they ran out, Vandraya ponder on what was going on. As if by magic, the lights flickered back on. She stared into the flames into the fireplace. The weak voice the king called out for her. She walked over to him. "Please my dear, don't strain yourself."

Grant nodded in thanks to the Queen before realizing his men hadn't returned. "Your highness. I will be going down the hall to see what has happened to my men. If anything funny happens call for me." He looked to his men. "I don't want a ROACH to enter this room without being notified." With that Grant slowly moved down the hallway, taking extra time to remain silent. Keeping one ear fixed on the door he was heading to and one on the Kings bedroom Grant listened for what or who was attacking. Grant's left hand held tight to his swords that were now attached into the staff form of his weapon. His right hand was lightly gripping the sword staff to be ready to move into a defensive position.

It took a bit, but Grog and Sylvan ended up victories against the fives Knights. Grog had got some minor cuts and bruises, but as usual Sylvan was absent of injury; she always let Grog take the hits since he could usually brush them off. Sylvan was worried now; the halls were lit again and it seemed they -or rather, Sylvan- wouldn't get the loot they -and once again meaning Sylvan- wanted.

"The lights seem to have come back on, Grog! We got to take what we can and get out of here."

Grog simply nodded no, things were far too dangerous to go into now. On the other hand, they already knocked six Knights unconscious and injured three others; they were already in trouble anyway.

"Fine, but I don't like it Sylvan; I would rather we look for him then loot the Chambers or maybe get my wounds healed."

Sylvan scoffed, uncaring for what Grog had to say; she only wanted riches and finding the person they were after wouldn't pay as much as loot from the King's Chamber.

"I read the record, Grog! It doesn't match, so let’s loot!"

Sylvan wasn't paying attention to her surroundings, she wasn't listening for others; she was far too excited with the promise of royal treasures in the King's Chamber to pay attention to anything right now. With a skip in her step, Sylvan stepped through the doorway into the King's Chamber. (OOC: Not Bedroom)

User ImageAlmost instantaneously, the lights came on and the struggling crowded fell through the now unlocked doors. "Cyrith, find Zireno, I shall go check on Father," Ric ordered his younger brother then hurried to the top of the stairway, following behind the crowd, trying his best to remain unnoticed.

Once in the hallway, the man headed immediately towards the nearest staircase, paying no mind to the court members' barrage of questions.

Zi winced from the light as he woke. Stretching he stood up and looked around yawning. "Man back to the humdrum life I guess." Zi said as he looked around for the guards. He figured they would be on their way to so call protect him. All they ever really did was get in his way of having a life. Looking around he didn't see anyone so he figured he get a little enjoyment in before it was back to princely hood. With a quick motion, "fwap!" Zireno's hand was suddenly upon a ladies behind. A squeeze and a slap later Zi had a soar cheek and the young lady was curtsying.

"My apologies prince Zireno." she said averting her eyes.

"Make sure it doesn't happen again or I'll have you arrested." Zi said with his usual tone of voice. As the lady left Zi said to himself. "Bloody peasants before spitting on the floor."

Grant reached his men that where passed out in the doorway of the royal chambers. Taking a quick look inside Grant saw two younger people inside. Just two? He thought. thinking about the rooms around he realized he was at the only way out. He motioned another guard over and whispered. "Get me ten of the backup troops from the garrison." With that the guard left. Grant waited their and observed what these two where up to.

User Image As Prince Ric reached the top off the stairs, a guard came rushing pass, nearly colliding with the royal, "Your Highness, I am terribly sorry, the Captain sent me to retrieve reinforcements for the intruders."

"Intruders?" the Prince nearly gasped. Were they after his father, did they cause the ballroom lock in? Ric needed to know, "My father, is he safe?"

"As far as I know, yes," the soldier replied nervously, staring over the Prince's shoulder as he wished to continue his mission.

"Then you are dismissed," Ric replied, then immediately headed in the direction of the soldiers origin. Normally he would have left such affairs to the guards, but this was personal. Upon turning the corner, he found the Neko Captain and called out to him, "I heard you could use reinforcements."
