"I am sure that you will. Now...the beginnings...your pieces are white and mine are black. They can only move on their respective colors on the board. Though each piece has its own restrictions."

"Yes. You see the little rounded pieces, the ones that there are the most of? Those are your pawns. They can only move forward and only one square, unless they are starting out for the first time. The attack diagonally. Two pawns head on is a stalemate and are immobile until one is somehow removed."

Sinthos nodded, "And next, on each end in the back row, you see a castle tower. That is called a Rook. It moves forward, backward, left and right, and only on the white squares."

"Those are the heroic knights. They move in a couple of different ways, both forward and backward. One way is an L shape, three spaces forward or backward, and one space to the side. The other way is for them to move three spaces to either side and one space forward or backward. Much like Ls turned on their side."

"She can move in any direction, for any number of spaces she wishes. Trapping and removing her is extremely hard, since her capabilites make her nearly invincible. She is a lot like you."
