Brooke gazed down at the ground. She was mad at Rellick, she knew, but the reason had started to fade, so that all she held onto was the last of reason to her resentment. So much had gone on that, even though the image of his glare still burned in her memory, it was becoming hazy why she was mad at him in the first place.
She had been determined not to see his cubs, that she didn't really want anything to do with them because their father was the figure of her resentment. But then, why should they suffer? They had done no wrong, and now that she thought about it, perhaps she was the one at fault in the situation...
She heard the sound of a familiar voice. "Jade!" Her voice bubbled with joy as she made her way toward Rellick's sister. It had been so long since they had seen each other.

She looked up at Rellick and grinned. "Everyone pretty in own way. Pretty come outside...or pretty come inside." She had heard the saying before, but she wasn't know who. It certainly wasn't her mother. Synda waved her tail a little looking at the royal children. "Synda help..one day...Synda help take care of family...because...family take care of Synda." She twitched her ears a little causng her flakes to shake. Synda then gazed back at Rellick. "Synda promise Uncle Rellick...Synda take care of family."

((Hm... Shey has gone AWOL... Wonder what she's up to? xD))
Cade timidly padded over to see what all the fuss was, stretching high, and even resting his forepaws on some lion's back whenever he dared, so that he was standing up on his footpaws. He peered over, and there he saw three little cubs. They were all so adorable.
"Wow... They look so pretty..." He mused, more to himself than anything. He'd always wondered how he looked in other lions' eyes, but he'd never dared to ask whether or not they found him beautiful.
Jax scowled darkly in a corner, watching as Cade peered at Rellick's cubs. He played around with a little red-and-gold mouse (which was strangely reminiscent of the Scarlet King himself) that was calmly hopping about his paws.
"Why does he get all the attention just cause he's knew...?"
"Maybe it's cause you're being so mean to him. Maybe if you loosened up, they wouldn't jump to his defence all the time." The mouse sat still and watched Jax's shocked expression with huge liquid eyes. "Y'know, jus' cause I'm a mouse don' mean you should eat me." He added, just to remind the cub.

The small female noticed the other cub from the corner of her eye. She gave a little whine stepping to him, more out of curiosity than anything. She had met him before, but they hadn't really talked. She was always scared of him. "Synda think..they pretty too." She grinned at him and poked the cub with her forepaw. "That why Synda promise to protect them. Because...family protected Synda." She looked over at the cub and grinned. "Synda is me. Who are you?"

Rellick smiled at Synda, touched by her kindness. "Thank you Synda.. We're glad to protect you, and that you are with us..."
Watching her toddle off to speak to Cade, Rellick mused over her past and then turned back to his children. Naharia had slunk over and currently lay curled in a ball beside her half-brother Nitarin, both of them sleeping silently. He nuzzled them both and sighed in content.
Jadera laughed and greeted Brooke with the same amount of enthusiasm. "Brooke! How have you been?"
She rubbed her cheek against the blue lioness's, and then nosed her shoulder, sitting down to face her so they could have a nice talk. She was glad she had come to visit Rellick's Pride, because she missed some of its members terribly.

(Whoa, Lat, I just saw Whistle! She's so hawt! xD)
"Oh, me?" Cade's was a look of genuine surprise that the tan cub had come to talk to him, perhaps mostly because of how Jax treated him. "I'm Cade. I like your name." He added with a smile.
"Oh, I've been good, yea! Wow, it's been so long... And I never even got the chance to visit you guys again!" She sat down too, with Jade. "So how are things with you guys?"
"Why do you look so familiar..." Jax mused, staring at the mouse as it stared back boldly. It twitched its nose. "You look like..." And for some reason, his mind floated up, as if he was leaving his body behind, and went somewhere... Dark. He felt like he was sifting through someone else's memories... Until... Jax sat up suddenly. "Who's... Rackna?" He muttered quietly. "What the heck was that..."
"Rellick?" Jax picked up the mouse and sought out the King, wondering what his reaction would be to his interruption. "Is this your mouse? It looks a lot like you..."

Jadera laughed. "Wonderful! It really has! And you could still.. Mother and father had cubs again.. A boy, Deka, and a girl, Aritania.. Aritania looks just like father in her color, and Deka is a pale green.. Oh they're wonderful to play with!"
Rellick eyed the cub and mouse. "He isn't mine... But I imagine he's a Familiar to someone.. Or will be one day.. He looks like me, and father."
He grinned and snuffed at the mouse. "Do you have a Shaman you lead yet, Little One? Do you have a name?"

"Really? I really gotta find some time to come visit, then, now don't I?" She said with a grin.
"Who's your father?" Jax piped up curiously. His brain was working furiously on the little daydream/deja-vous he had a minute ago.
The mouse shook its head. "Don't have a Shaman t'lead yet, sir. I don't know much about healing. I know more about how t'grow up nice than healin' n' such." He thought back to the time when he'd tried learning about herbs, but had almost poisoned his entire family by using the wrong leaves. "Name's Rion." He said happily, obviously proud of his own name, although why, nobody knew.

She smiled. "Synda like Cade name. Synda think Cade has good, strong name." Her chubby tail waved slightly as she had her first true smile in days. Sure, she smiled to be polite, but what Cade said to her really smiled. She never really had a compliment before. "How Cade come to pride?" She asked. Synda was very curious about him. He seemed strange and lonely...kinda like her.

"Thanks. I always thought it sounded weird." He said, smiling at her compliment. "Oh, well... It's a long story, but my dad abandoned us and my mom... er... anyway, Jax left early and I wandered around for a long time. And when I came here, I just knew that he was nearby." He stopped, looking a little less happy. "I don't think he wants me here, though. He says I'm not really his brother." He fell into silence, frowning for a while before he realized Synda was still there. "What about you?"

She nodded. "Synda same...Synda mother no want her. Synda wander and wander until she came here. Rellick found Synda and been here every since. Synda confused though...her brothers are still with mother..but Synda isn't..." She shrugged off the thought. "Synda glad though she found Rellick pride. So, Synda happy." She gave Cade a grin and poked him with her paw. "Cade not worry what Jax says. If Cade know it true, than it true. Don't let anyone make Cade thing any different." She gave him a nod.

Cade shrugged, staring over at his brother. "He's just angry, I guess. At what happened. He's not really like that. I don't think." He looked back to the tan kit. "Well, I guess we're kind of the same in a way. Except my mom is dead."

((LOL.. Have you seen Tenari yet? Or their brother Regius? I gave him to Ambrel.. He's smexy too! ^.^ They are are all the wonderful work of Fanta.. And their parents are done by Odet and Muffin.. So much hawtness in the family...))
Jadera nodded. "Yes.. Truly.. I left not long ago, and I miss them.. But I do love exploring the Pride Lands and moving around.. So it's not too bad..."
Rellick smiled. "Rackna.. My father, and Jade's, is named Rackna.. And as I said, he and I, look very much alike.."
Smiling at the mouse, Rellick nodded. This Familiar must be a young one, or perhaps he was just not destined to be a Shaman's familiar, but someone else's. "Well met Proud Rion... You can stay here for as long as you wish.. And perhaps you will meet Dashira the next time she visits..."
He paused to wonder about the pale-green Shaman, and then shrugged it off.. Knowing she would come when she was needed, or called, or when she felt like it...

"Oh. I didn't know you left." Brooke said with a sympathetic smile. She knew what it was like, missing the warmth and welcome of Rackna's pride. Not that she was unhappy here. She loved it at Scarlet Shadows with Rellick. "I take it you've seen your brother's cubs?" She added. "I've yet to see them... I think Rellick's mad at me."
"Rackna..." Jax repeated with a puzzled frown. But he shrugged it off for the while. He wasn't a big fan of trying to solve the unknown. The unknown scared him, and while it was still in the future, it was unknown.
"Well met, Scarlet King." Rion replied politely. Always a flare with words, he had put his assumptions and skills together to accurately guess Rellick's title. "And thank you. Perhaps if Jax here doesn't mind, I might tag along with him, maybe." He smiled.

She nodded and stretched a little. "Synda thinks that Jax will come around one day. How far that day is, Synda does not know." The tan cub licked her paws a little and felt her tummy grumble. She gave a little pouty face looking around for food. Her nose twitched slightly as her tummy began to protest more. "Synda hungry..."
