Cordain heard the rapping on the door as he made his way down the stairs, still wearing his red yukata and sandals. He made his way over to the doorway and smiled at Lori, "Hi, I'm the inn and tavern keeper, anything I can do for you specifically or were you just checking to see if anyone was here?"

"Yes, I'm quite new here," Lori replied to Ayira, smiling in a friendly manner. She felt quite lost in here, and..well, was that someone else coming down the stairs?

"Um, hello," she answered Cordain, setting her bags down beside her on the floor. They weren't much, a large canvas bag and a slightly smaller one, with all her gardening tools hanging from loops on the smaller bag. "I'm supposed to find a lady named..um.."

Lori was so nervous, especially in front of two strangers she didn't know. She dug a piece of paper from her pocket, eyeing the scribbles she'd written there earlier today. "Chiaku, that's it. I'm supposed to work at the teahouse, or something? I thought the inn would be the best place to start."

Realizing she was probably rambling, she turned and kicked at her gardening tools a bit. "I'm the new gardener." After she said that, Lori wondered if there had been an old gardener. Would people hate her because she wasn't as good as the last one?

Cordain bowed his head faintly, "Lady Chiaku lives in the large manor in town, and I myself am Cordain, the innkeeper." he smiled at Lori and motioned about, "If you're hungry I can bring out some bread and water for starters. I need to go and start the stew though."

He tilted his head as he looked at Lori, "Sound good to you Lady Gardener?"

Rae smiled as he walked into town from the forest, a large, cured leather backpack upon his back. He paused momentarily as he looked up at the sky, "Hum...should head to the inn and find a room..." he muttered to himself before he turned his violet gaze to the town before him. He continued on down the road and eventually arrived at what looked like the inn and opened the door, "Ah! Hello?" he asked as he entered from outside, "Any rooms available?"

"Sounds lovely to me, I haven't eaten all day." Lori sat at the bar, kicking her bags under her seat. At hearing someone outside, she glanced over her shoulder, smiling at the new man.

"Hello sir, for a room, you might want to ask the innkeeper," she inclined her head towards Cordain. "I'm Lori Silentsong, the gardener in town." That sounded so odd to say. She actually had a place.

Cordain smiled at Lori then looked over at the new arrival, "Yea, we have plenty of rooms...only three are taken." He laughed lightly then turned and walked into the kitchen. Once in there he grabbed a plate of bread and a pitcher of water as well as a couple glasses.

He brought out all of the food and water and set it on the bartop before he returned to the kitchen and began preparing vegetable stew.

Rae smiled at Lori as he walked across the tavern room and gently set his backpack down next to the bar, "I'm Raeyvar Aislinn, I'm a member of the Royal Academy of Science and Alchemy." he stated. After a moment he gave out a cough, "I'm an alchemist." he finished in plain terms, "Actually, I'm Astora's alchemist...Or will be once I contact and present myself to the Lady Chiaku."

After a brief moment again he pushed his violet glasses further up his nose and smiled at Lori, "So you're a gardener...I might have to buy herbs from you if you do plan to grow any. Easier than growing my own."

Ayira yet again shook her head at all the activity around her, but jumped at the chance to go amd talk with the Inn Keeper. Se bowed to the two in the room with her and smile, "Please excuse me." she said softly before turning and walking towards the kitchen.

She opened the door quitly and walked in, "I dont mean to be a pain but earlier you said you might be interested in having your son join the Dojo." she said standing by the door of the kitchen and looking at the man infront of her. "If it isnt too much to ask may I meet your son, I would like to see if he would have any great need or want of joining before I get to excited about teaching again." she said sweetly, meaning no problems just interested in meeting the youth of this village, and getting back to her passion, fighting.

Lori took a glass and poured herself some water out of the pitcher, taking a piece of bread for herself before answering Rae. "An alchemist, huh?" The young redhead didn't exactly know what an alchemist was, but she didn't want to sound stupid. She nodded to the other woman in the room as Ayira left to go to the kitchen.

"I do plan on planting an herb garden, as soon as I get settled in. Some fresh mint, chives, and especially lavender. Some other herbs too. I'm going to go wild herb hunting whenever I find this Chiaku lady and get assigned a place." Lori knew she was rambling again, but herbs and flowers were her specialty.

Cordain looked over at Ayira as she entered and smiled at her, "No pain at all..." he then listened to the rest of what Ayira said. He nodded his head slightly, "You can meet him tomorrow after school, he's sleeping right now but I believe having him in the dojo would probably help him. He's...Wild and angry..."

He turned his attention back to the stew, "But fair warning, his mother was the previous martial arts instructor." he nodded his head slightly and smiled again faintly.

Rae watched Lori's reaction and sighed, "I mix stuff and make potions." he said in even more plain terms. He then nodded his head a couple times and flashed a bright, happy smile at Lori, as he did this, two of the blue tattooed tendrils upon his face seem to meld, but that's just a trick of the eye.

"I'd be happy to go wild herb hunting with you lady Lori, I have need for them as well so I can use them for potions, tinctures and salves." he said to her, tilting his head to the side afterwards, his raven hair falling into his violet eyes, "That sound alright with you lady Lori?"

Ayira smiled and walked over to were he was making stew, "Well lets hope he doesnt hold that against me." she said with a laugh as she leaned agaisnt the counter and watched him. "So his mother...your married?" she asked quite confussed by what he ment use to be the instructor. I wounder what happened to her she thought as she gazed at the counter infront of her. She pulled out her favorite dagger and twirled it between her fingers as she thought, a bad habbit of hers but what can you do about habbits.

"Oh!" Lori exclaimed, finally getting it. She was a little slow on the uptake sometimes. "I'd love company to go hunting with. normally everyone thinks it's boring to collect flowers and herbs."

She took a sip of her water, glancing up at Rae. "So what brings you here?"

Cordain shook his head, "No...I'm not married...I was engaged but she died..." he gave a deep sigh, "Crimson left here and I adopted Nekura." he glanced over at Ayira again, "I hope he doesn't hold it against you either...if he does I'll just train him in kendo myself."

Rae gave a long chuckle at Lori's reactions, "So would I, I tend to go hunt and gather the components for potions and such myself, left over habits from the days when I was part of a tribe."

He continued to smile at Lori, "Well...I was actually sent here because this city is growing is size and the RASA decreed that any city of a certain size or more should have an alchemist there for the purposes of creating potions, salves and other such from the local flora and fauna."

He leaned back on his barstool a bit, "Well...Also I heard about the fae here and I am very curious as to what they are, and such...I have no intentions of harming them...just observing and researching them..."

Rae smiled at Lori, "So...what about yourself lady Lori? Why did you come here?"
PostPosted: Tue Apr 26, 2005 4:06 pm

Lori nodded, thinking that it sounded very important, whatever he was here for. Her reasons weren't nearly as important sounding. "Fae? Sounds interesting." She'd heard something about Fae children in this town, but her main priority was gardening here.

"Why did I come here? It sounded like a nice town, I guess. And from all the weeds around here, it looks like I'm needed." Lori laughed, wrapping her hand around her water glass and taking another sip. "Plus, I like traveling."

Raeyvar laughed lightly, "Ah traveling well...this is probably the first time I've settled down for long in any one place..." he poured himself a glass of water as well and took a sip. "...Hmmm...OH! Where did you come from and why gardening?" he asked, smiling at Lori still.

"GAH!" Paine yelled as she saw Kizzy put a bunch of knives on the table. "THOSE AREN'T SPATULAS!" she said. She put the knives on the side, and tried to explain to Kizzy what a spatula looked like. "Well, a spatula is, flat...and shaped like a square...a flat square! You use it to flip pancakes and other stuff...now hurry and find one, unless if you want this pancake to burn.." she glanced over at the pan, the batter seemed fine for now.....but how long will Kizzy take to find a spatula? She was the only one who knew this place...

Carol giggled lightly and went over to where Kapono slept and picked him up carefully, letting his head lay on her shoulder. "poor poor Paine" She said in between giggles. "Here kiz, lemme help" She spoke to the red headed girl. "Where do you get all the items you use to cook?"
