It was nice. Just this, but Calder for all hsi romantic desires did not think Invictus' heart was into it. The boil only seemed to smile when he wasn't doing anything to spur it on, seemed indifferent to any suggestion he gave, and seemed rather uncaring if he had been with anyone. This was Calder's one chance to impress the boil, and he would not hold back. If he had been the lead, then he might have had an excuse to pull the boil closer, but as the 'mare' role in this dance number, their distance was close but not pressing, and Invictus was a tad bit shorter than him to rest his head against without it being awkward. He worried that if he tried any gesture of close touching, the boil could tell him to stop. Something as simple as 'darling' hadn't worked. He was attempting ever passage as he could, seeing which of the many passages to the crypt that was Invictus' heart wasn't blocked by thorns. He just had to keep trying.

Going through his list, he breathed deep. Kelpies WERE known for a certain trait, and he hadn't really used it much at all this year. While he wasn't going to put any Fear in it, not being that practiced, his kind was best with alluring looks. It was their talent. Their looks and an eye-catching gaze made others fall in love with them and be attracted, pulled towards them and win them over. He only hoped someone as experienced and well traveled as the horseman didn't know this tactic or had seen this method before.

Dropping his eyes, he summoned a look that was sure to melt the boil's heart, and lifted his head.

Sausage fiasco 2.0 earned a loooong stare from Mot. Disturbing to other, pretty damn hot to him. Though he did avert his eyes after a while. There was only so much phallic eye sore one could deal with in one night. There was a fair bit of snickering though. Good work Riley. Way to play the devil`s advocate.

Mot waved off Lizzy and Jericho, leaning back in his chair and having a drink with Levi. Mac and Tess`s interaction went unnoticed. "Having a good time, Levi?" He asked, trying to start up some idle banter, now that he didn't have to yell over the music.

Aislin gave a small smile, feeling a happy thrill through her being as from behind she heard what was becoming a familiar voice. In the back of her mind she cursed him for being a Reaper. "I'd worried you'd forgotten about me." For now she pushed it aside, reaching up to lightly grasp his fingertips in her hand and allowed herself to be lead out onto the dance floor. Tiny motes of fog kicked up around them as they moved out.

Lightly she put a hand on his shoulder, feeling his larger hand resting at her hip, and reaching out she took his other, their palms pressed together. It was a little hard to let him lead but she soon fell into step with him, gliding gently through the fog and lights as they were off.

"Are you enjoying the Prom so far?" She spoke in a murmur, the fog that coiled from her throat a pale color that trailed along behind her and hung in the air as though to mark her swirling path along the dance floor.

Sure ain't the same as no tatzel festival, can tell ya that much! Where ya learn yer moves, cowboil? Sure, Levi had learned from her parents, but where had Mot learned his fancy steps?

Being so similar to alot of the moves she'd seen back home, it interested the tatzel to know if they somehow shared a similar upbringing. Ma n' Pa always had a thing with dancin'... same with me. Just... dun ever do it n' public. Ye sure gotta way with wurds, boil. Her expression was in a smirk with a black straw lingering between her lips, sucking up the dark red smoothie.

Roch knew--just KNEW he was supposed to go find Claire right at the moment. This seemed to be the whole "Date big moment" thing, by the looks of everyone around them, and he was on a date, right?

But dammit, after listening to that lecture about mold and exploding and all sorts of gross, disgusting things, the LAST thing he wanted to do was dance around with someone so close, and looking like--like-- He stared at Calder and Invi as they danced by, having no clue who they were, but seriously bothered, nonetheless--like that.

"Oye, if you're skipping out you're NOT leaving me behind!" Roch whispered to Demi, heading off the dance floor and for the gaming area as fast as he could without looking like he was running away. Which he was.

After dancing like a fool with Nuk and the others Junko had wandered off to the games area, won all of one poker chip and then proceeded to have her leg humped by a cthulhu minipet. That last part was her own fault. She thankfully missed Aislin kissing Seiji's cheek, though she had caught their dance prior to that. He was having so much fun dancing with Tomoko, and she'd enjoyed seeing that, but watching him do it with Aislin had her stomach twisting in an unhappy jealous knot. No! No...she couldn't do that. Stop that right this instant. She distracted herself by pouring herself a cup of punch, giving it a suspicious sniff and looking around for any signs of someone tampering with it. No one was going to spike the punch this time or she'd have their head.

It wasn't long before Junko took a careful sip of the drink, sighing with relief when it tasted how she'd made it. Yay! No one had spiked it. Now it was time to drink away the memory of how violated her leg had just been. Ohhh and she could people watch like this, too!

...WAS SHEHK KISSING CHRISTOF?! Junko nearly did a classic spittake at the sight, instead choking a little on it in her efforts not to spit it out. Shehk?! Wh-what the...! Why was she kissing Christof?! Hadn't she...but...was she already rebounding?! No! Nooooooooo! Junko coughed, wiping at her mouth.

Sparrow took Aislin's delicate hand in his, stepping down from the ScreeJay stand. "I could never forget about one as lovely as yourself, darling," he said with amusement, and made his way out onto the dance floor, leading Aislin behind him. Once there, surrounded on all sides by various couples, he easily slipped his hand around hers, his other hand resting at her hip, sliding to press against her lower back. With a smile he fell into a slow waltz like dance.

"I am indeed," Sparrow answered her lightly. Fog curled around his ankles, snaking across the width of the dance floor as they moved. The music was low and gentle, and he was finding it surprisingly easy to both converse and dance with Aislin, though he knew she still was wary of him being a reaper. However, it seemed that though at least for tonight they could set aside their differences and have a pleasant time together.

"And what about you, pretty lady?" Sparrow asked, lifting his hand to gently spin Aislin around before he pulled her back towards him again. "How are you finding the night so far?"

"Here and there~." He answered, chuckling. "I had to dance a lot at parties my parents had. Mostly boring slow dances. But then I started sneaking out at night, and there were these festivals on the other side of town. Those people could throw real parties! Outdoors with vendors and loud music! That's where I learned my fancier steps." Mot explained, using hand movements to express his excitement.

"You should dance in public more often. Its way more fun!" Mot said with a grin. "I think a lot of people were impressed with you, tonight." If all that cheering of her name didn't mean she was doing well, what did?

Mot smirked proudly. Oh yes, a way with words. Pushing buttons, once found, was a skill with great power and greater responsibility. "I figured if I riled you up you would take on the challenge. Its not fun if a friend is left out. And admit it, you had fun out on that dance floor."

Her dress swirled out around her, the gauzy, see-through material catching the lights and making it shimmer briefly first one color and then another. As she found herself pulled back close to the other boil she gave his hand a light little squeeze. "It's a scream!" She didn't mean to raise her voice, immediately settling down after the little outburst, giving a tiny giggle.

"It's a little lonely behind the booth, maybe, but it's not so bad. I can still dance. I haven't really had time to meet others though." But at this she gave a little shrug and whirled about with Sparrow, her dress once more flaring out as they almost waltzed across the floor. She passed Calder, whom she recognized from the Open House dancing with her date. She had to admit, they made a lovely looking couple, and the way Calder's tail was braided up was very pretty.

Aaahheee heeeee~ ya dirteh 'lil sneak! She playfully gave him a punch in the arm. The boil was brittle in the bones- she tried to be careful so his currently dehydrated body wouldn't collapse. Her hillbilly laugh continued until Mot mentioned dancing in public places.

It wasn't that she didn't want to but that she just couldn't. No matter how her usual private dancing went, her body usually went into a freeze mode when it came to dancing in public. Usually. She'd never had a boil challenge her to a dancing battle before. ...........always been--- its been 'a trial. She wasn't sure what to say but she most certainly wasn't going to explain her situation back home. Ya danced 'n public alot, eh? Boils back home ain't like that none. Dancin' ... it's a sorta ghouly thang. Only tha older folk dance together.

Sure she'd had fun, but she wasn't going to show weakness despite having already danced. He was tricky all on his own, this one. Levi had a lot of good tricks up her sleeve, but this kind that Mot knew- it was in her head. Levi just slyly turned her head up like Mot already knew the answer- she wasn't going to repeat it. Think you sure had fun, cowboil...clickin' dem boots

"................................"

Yeah. Invictus was pretty damn sure that if he'd not been aware of this 'admirer' before, that look the kelpie was trying to woo him with would have solidified it for him. Truly, however, if being on a 'romantic' island getaway with three lovely woman didn't do it for him, a single look wasn't going to do it either. Then again, that may have been the exact reason why Calder thought it was going to work.

To be exact, it didn't work. It required Invictus to have a bit more of an open heart than he actually possessed, and if the thorns protecting his heart had one opening in them, there was nobody at this school that would be capable of fitting through such a gap.

Ever.

Invictus kept the serious look on his face, and continued through the stepping motions of the dance. Alas. The smoldering look just hadn't worked.

The sloth demon was speaking and in Lilith's head a little bell went off, pulling her attention off everyone else. She didn't look over immediately though, her head waiting a moment before it slowly turned to greet him. Was he finally going to dance? She smiled, tilting her head to the side for a moment as she looked up at him.

"Oh? And who am I going to have the pleasure of dancing with then?"

Mot giggled at her comment about him being a sneak, flinching at the punch on the arm. He really needed to think about beefing up if a ghoul made him flinch.

Mot tilted his head and frowned slightly at Levi's admittance about dancing being ghouly. "Not here though. Dance till you drop, Levi!" He smiled reassuringly.

"I did have fun clicking my heels. A lot. Me and you made an epic team." Ha ha. he said team, not rivals!

Mot looked over at Riley as she sat at the table. Had she danced? He was sure she had. She looked a bit lost though.

Suddenly. An idea. "Sorry Levi, I'm gonna ask Riley for a dance. She looks lonely." He winked... though it could not be seen thanks to his hat. He probably would never wink at anyone without the hat hiding his eyes anyway.
Mot got up from his chair and addressed the mindflayer. "Riley. I have an amazing idea. Come to the dance floor with me?" he took the demoness's hand, getting the gist of her eye condition from those who talked about her earlier.

It seemed he lacked the proper kelpie arts and training to create an alluring look, and he watched Invictus continue to the dance unfazed. His heart sank down his his hooves and he looked away, before setting his head softly on Invictus' shoulder.

He continued to enjoy the song and slow dancing. It seemed fancy looks weren't going to work, and he felt that further testing of the waters might break up his happy little illusion.

As he turned, he noticed a sight to behold. Shehk was locking lips right on Christof, and Calder felt his grip tighten just a bit out of jealousy. Lucky Jacken b*****d. It was just too easy for him to get a smooch! What did a kelpie have to do to get a tousle in the hay around here?!!!

"Said second-place champion," Barth said, keeping one claw about her waist and the other providing a gentle place for her hand to rest.

But with a slower song and the fog rolling on to the dance floor, Barth's grip on Lilith tightened.

It wasn't all out of romance.

They were (relatively) safe on campus in Halloween. It was October. Fear was delightfully thick...in the air, in the tables, in the floor, in them. Still. He checked over Lilith's shoulder to make sure Christof wasn't going to collapse into a seizure of war flashbacks. Christmas was a touchy subject with him, Barth didn't see why fog should be different. ...Fortunately, Christof seemed to be not warflashbacking at all, and instead buried in a kiss.

He hoped Shehk liked pickled tongue.

He returned his attention to his date, taking a slow lead through the steps. Barth's dancing was on beat, just a significantly different tempo. "I don't really mind dancing, you know. ...Not with you," This was only slightly a lie.
