Jager was unable to dodge or counter Ryuk's attack. His arm and part of his body was trapped in the clamp of his sharp teeth. He fought back a jolt of pain and tried to resist it as best he could. Valk, who was trying to figure out just how this happened, rushed to Jager's side.

In the surging of the pain, Jager dropped his blade and dropped to his knees.
"Urk..!"
He placed his hand on the jaw of the biting dragon and tried to push him off.
"AH!"
Valk flew high into the air. He stopped suddenly and looked back down to get a good view of the fight below. Valk began to swoop down at an enormous speed, accompanied by the faint vision of hawk wings at Valk's sides. After the bird for which he was named, Valk was about to preform his attack. He rammed his head into the side of the dragon that held onto to Jager in his mouth.

Landing on the ground Luka hissed hearing something not sure what it was though she shoke her head ignoreing it not sure if she sould go fine out or not.
.:Whats wrong?:. Jade said conserned
Jade looked over at her and snorted slightly .:Its nothing:.

Luka yawned tiredly but she was hungry. .:Il be right back Jade:.
Luka flew up into the sky scanning the area then she saw some rabbits, it wouldnt be much but it would be something. Luka silently flew near them without being seen when then they didnt look up and started to eat the grass Luka swoped down grabing one in her claws, she shoke it brakeing its neck after a moment then after dieing instently Luka brought back the dead rabbit to Jade.
.:You killed that?:.
.:yup...:.
Jade smiled seeing how much she was learning, then she started a fire and cooked the rabbit giveing some to Luka and some to herself.

"Now what?" Fire said brightly, almost as though she had forgotten the reason they were there.
Are we not going to visit the elves? Tharazzi asked tilting his head slightly.
You must come back. A familiar voice suddenly came into Neo's head, stopping him from hearing the rest of Fire and Tharazzi's converstation.
"What?" He asked frowning slightly.
Go back to the others, meet Jager, find me... Then the female voice faded again.
"Neo...?" Neo focused again to see Fire watching him closely.
"I'm fine." He muttered looking to Tharazzi.
"We must go back."
"Why?"
Neo didn't say anything, he walked over to the little red dragon who nodded and grew larger so that both Fire and Neo could fit on.

Em and Siencyn just sat there on the cliff for a long while. Then Siencyn stood up and grew to a larger size again.

-C'mon, let's go back to the others.-
Emelin reluctantly got up and jumped up on Siencyn. He spread his wings and flew high above the tree tops. As they went on, the forest got thicker again and they came back to where they came from.

Siencyn landed next to the knarled tree and shrank again.
-Does shrinking and growing ever tire you out?-
-Eventually.-

They walked back to the small group and walked into town.
"We should get something to eat, I'm starved." Sien hopped on her shoulder and they searched for a cheap place to get something.

Emelin aimlessly wandered the streets of the town until she came to a cart with food upon it. She took out all the money she had. "Thirteen coins... hm... we'll use six."

She stuffed the seven left back into her pocket and walked up to the merchant.
"Excuse me, how much will six coins get me?" The merchant handed her four fruits and a loaf of bread. She eagerly took them and handed the man the coins. Both her and Siencyn went back to where the group was and sat under a tall, thick tree. She gave Siencyn half of the bread and ate one of the fruits.

Siencyn ate it in a couple bites and looked at Em. "Sorry dearest, we gotta save the rest for now. If your so hungry, go hunting for something." Sien gave a snort and wandered into the forest.

Romana opened her eyes and looked around sadly. She was alone yet again and always would be. It was just how things were. After a while she saw flashing images of Lyude's prey, he had flown off to hunt and get his mind off Neo, a topic that Romana couldn't stop talking about.
"Ok, forget about him." She told herself spreading her mechanical wing in time with her real one then flapped them, rising into the sky and making her way towards the pale light dragon.

Topaz and Onyx waalked along when Topaz suddenly felt as if something very heavy was being lifted from her chest.

.: He's gone :.
.: I felt him, too. Do you think he... :. his thoughts trailed, but Topaz knew he was talking about.
.: He hasn't the smallest clue. Don't worry, little one. Onyx doesn't understand the danger we were in. Yet. :.
.: But he might find out? Might Jager tell him? :.
.: There is a chance, but I don't think he'd betray us. :.
.: Betray? It sounds as though you are afraid of telling Onyx. :.
.: He would worry. :.
.: What is there to worry about? We are safe. :.
.: And you know that. But he doesn't. He needs me now, as much as I needed him then. :.
.:What do you mean? :.
.: It is a long story. :.
.: We have no rush. :.
.: Very well. :.

And she began to explain how they had met.

Topaz had been buying some fruit at a market. Then, a man had walked up, and began to talk with her. She walked away later, after a nice conversation, and he followed her. Then when they were alone on the streets, he had caught up with her, covered her mouth, and contained her. She had struggled, but he was much more physically strong than her.

The she explained how he had dragged her into an alley, and tried to rape her. Onyx had been passing, and had killed the man. Then he walked Topaz to an inn where she spent the night. He had seen her leaving in the morning and had walked with her, talking about the events of last night, and offering himself as a bodyguard. Still shaken, she accepted, but soon realized that she didn't need him. But not having the heart to tell him, she just kept up the charade that he was her protection.

.: Then why don't you stop him? :.
.: He wouldn't stop. :.
.: If he cared about you, he would. :.
.: If he cared, he wouldn't. Because he cared, he wouldn't. :.

There was a long silence.

.: He has a loud mind. He cannot control it. :.
.: How do you know that? :.
.: I don't know. Its just like an aura. You feel it too, :. he pointed out.
.: How are you so much like me? :.
.: Basically put, I'm a reincarnation of your soul. But I didn't tell you that. I have the same feelings as you. That same sense of being. It has nothing to do with our connection with the wind. I just make it stronger. :.
.: Interesting. :.

They both fell silent again. Onyx hadn't a clue that Topaz had just rlated the most important detail of their lives to her dragon, right under his nose.
