((I don't know what you think would happen to Rio, because as far as Morrigan and Dante know, Quint was doing this on his own. I doubt they're paying attention to what Rio is doing, and unless they have super hearing, what he's saying))

Unable to do much with the giant mouth in its current form and unable to tell exactly what was wrong, Morrigan reluctantly started to deconstruct Dante's current prison. As she was in the middle of it, she started to notice what had happened...
At first, she thought he was dead, albeit very sticky for some reason. Even as she was withdrawing her minions, he was still sticking to them. As a result, she began to bang and scrape her minions against the ground and surrounding rocks in an attempt to get him off, separating portions of his body from the main mass of him in the process.
"Gross..."

Morrigan didn’t need to bother trying to get Dante off of her minions. He was all but happy to oblige her in that. The mass of sticky goop quickly converted itself into a liquid, but no less adhesive, material and flowed towards Morrigan like a burst of water from a massive fire hydrant. It covered her completely, from head to toe, forming a very thick, very tough shell around her body. It may have seemed like an attempt on Morrigan’s life, but rather it was merely the first part of a simple yet very effective plan.
While this was taking place, step two had already gotten underway. The bits and pieces of Dante that Morrigan had managed to scrape off slowly crawled together at a central point. They fused back together into a single entity that flattened itself against the ground and spread itself over a wide area. There was but the briefest of pauses before something began to surface. Whatever it was, it seemed eerily similar to a plasma lamp. In fact … he couldn’t have just converted his being into pure plasma, could he? That, in fact, was the reality of the situation. And with an almost inhuman roar it attacked …. Quint and Rio.
An invisible dome of energy began expanding from it’s core, it’s assigned distance limitation being twice the area between itself and it’s intended targets. Obviously, no chances were being taken that they could possibly realize what was going on and somehow outrun it. The attack itself was what some militaries in distant parallel worlds would call PEP, or Pulsed Energy Projectile, weaponry. In such worlds, it was in a laser form and still in development, but Dante was much father along than they were.
The idea behind PEP is to emit an invisible pulse that, when connecting with a target, evaporates the surface and creates a small amount of plasma. This results in both a sound and shockwave that stuns the target and the creation of a form of electromagnetic radiation that affects nerve cells to cause very painful sensations. In other words, complete disablement and demoralization of whatever it was fired at. Though a fully charged emission could result in death, death was not Dante’s intention. He wanted to send a message, loud and clear, to the both of them: Do not interfere again.
The sphere of pure plasma them began to condense, and in time it reverted back to the form of Dante, well and whole. The ambient energy that remained after his most recent form crackled across his skin as he descended the brief distance to the ground. He landed easily and shot a brief glance over at his handiwork. Satisfied that the message had been sent, he turned back towards Morrigan. The bits and pieces of himself that had coated Morrigan had protected her from his PEP assault, and now that their job was over they left her and rejoined with his main body.
He assumed that Morrigan may have perhaps been a little disoriented after the brief yet sudden loss of all her senses. So, to refocus her, he spoke for the first time since their fight had begun.
“Enjoy your break?”

Rioushu had gotten a bit chilly himself from his plan with Quint, but had no intention of leaving the area just yet. He was focusing so much on the fight between Morrigan and Dante, he really wasn't paying much attention to anything else. It was nothing else but the roar before the attack that got his attention. Rio had turned to see what was coming at him, and at the speed it was going he had no chance to run. Still, not a look of the slightest concern appeared on his face. He made a hand sign and jumped back quickly. "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu." He said and a clone appeared just ahead of him.
He stood behind the clone in a perfectly symmetrical stance, the idea was to stall the plasma, but to his surprise it stopped with the clone, not breaking through the clone but instead stunning it as an annoyed look came on its face and it disappeared from the damage. Hmm, that not's good, wasn't even that strong a signal from what the clone tells me... Rio thought, but as soon as he had done so a sudden shock ran throughout his body, his legs nearly giving out under him as he felt like he could hardly breathe, he most definitely couldn't move. But the truth was this was a good thing, as a direct attack, this was an excuse to retaliate. Though it appeared that he was just standing around, if one looked closely at his right hand they could see sparks started to form into an erratic ball of lightning.

Anything within the AREA OF EFFECT is EFFECTED. Basically, area of effect abilities like that radiate outwards from an epicenter, in a circular pattern. It doesn't matter where in the circle you are, be it the center or the edge, you still get hit.
By all the rules of spatial reasoning in roleplay, he didn't block at all. Therefore he took the full hit, full damage, and forfeits a saving throw or evasion roll or what have you.

For a while after Quint had finished his recent casting he studied Dante's copy-mass, noticing that while it had gathered a layer of permafrost, it retained its soft gel-like state, a sort of black spongy snow. Other than that, nothing worth mentioning, and Quint was ready to call it quits with his specimen 'given' to him expired. Nah, maybe I just didn't put enough into it, if it got this fa--aaAAGGFFFTT!! Pounded to mother Earth by an otherworldly boom across his ground, Quint writhed about as if his skin was bitten by fire ants with acidic fangs, unable to hear, see, or even talk, just feel a pain he wouldn't soon forget. Even as the effect subsided, all it left was even more agony in a lesser biting across his skin, and this noticeable constant tone in both ears, Quint only able to lie looking to the sky, trying to get bearings. ((...Rioushu, really? You played WoW, you know what AOE means, get really real.)) ((And Dante, actually about the last post, I'll pull up a bit you said here.. Dante. And with an almost inhuman roar it attacked...
