"Sounds like a plan," Tokai smiled, allowing the girl to pull him along, though his mind was on other things. Mostly the conversation he'd just had with Kendra. He was a bit disappointed that she hadn't felt she could trust him with her secret and he'd found out this way instead, but he wasn't going to let it bother him too much.





Alassea continued to run through the forest, keeping an arm infront of her face as best she could to stop it getting hit by all the branches as tears spilled down her face, half blinding her. She had no idea where she was, or where she was going.

Kendra had been silent for a while, and now she finally spoke up. "I think i should go out and find Alassea." She said softly, her forehead creased with concern. "The forest will not be safe tonight. I'm the only one who will be able to find her quickly and bring her back."

Kendra looked over at Tokai and nodded, giving him a small smile. "Some creatures that the forest has never seen before will be coming out soon for the night. It'll be too dangerous for Alassea to survive if they find her." She said softly, her face serious. "If i go and get her, even if i put myself in danger, she will still be back faster than if anyone else went to get her."

Flashing a nervous smile at Tokai, Kendra murmured "You too." And turned, running towards the forest with an inhuman speed, leaving stirred dust in her wake. Reaching the nearest tree, she easily leaped onto the lowest branch and continued upwards, flitting gracefully from branch to branch like a zig zag staircase. When she reached the top, she unfolded her wings and spread them wide, the wind quickly filling them as she jumped once more, but this time into thin air. For a dangerous moment it seemed as though she was going to fall, but with a couple of beats from her powerful wings she was soon soaring just above the tops of the trees. Looking back over her shoulder she shouted "Bye!" And waved, then turning back to her view of the forest floor, her amber eyes began searching frantically and her ears straining for any sound of the girl.

"Yes, you're right. It's about time I got breakfast going," he said, smiling at Shioko as he led her back inside. "Is there anything you'd like, or like to do before I start?" he asked.




Alassea finally collapsed, her chest heaving painfully and her breath coming in rasps as she fell to the floor where she lay, curling herself into a shuddering ball as she sobbed.

Shioko just smiled, "No, I don't think I really want anything," she murmured before thinking, "Maybe I could just watch you?" she asked.

Kendra continued her flight without any more trouble, although she was always aware of the strange creature following just out of the edges of her vision. Whenever she turned her head to look at it, it would just...vanish, though as soon as she'd turned her head back again it's presence would re-appear. Jeez, this thing is really pissing me off. She thought furiously, If it wants a fight, why does it make no move to start one? She sighed as she glided on small thermals, giving her wings a rest. Unless, of course, She thought dryly, It is waiting for the right moment. Her amber eyes widened as a new presence entered her magical range. "Alassea!" She called out, "Where are you???"
