Shane stopped, "That thought-- she's not innocent. She's corrupt, she has everyone thinking she's never done anything wrong. Besides, that's who I was, not who I am. Also, to give you something to think about-- what person deserves to die, so we can live?"

Evera turned her gaze to Shane, a tear falling down her cheek. She quickly wiped it off her face with a scowl. Such a freaking crybaby, she scolded herself. "Shane I didn't mean to make you mad. I just--" She stopped, figuring anything else she said wouldn't make a difference. Instead, she went to Shane and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her cheek to his chest. "Im sorry," she whispered.

Shane starred down at Evera for a second, jaw still clenched, but eventually he wrapped his arms around her torso, kissing the top of her head. "It's alright, you didn't make me mad-- I was having a hard time trying to explain..." He mumbled.

Evera nodded in understanding. "So, if you don't mind me asking, Why did you finally allow her to leave?" She looked up at Shane with love in her eyes and a smile on her face.

Shane frowned again, "You seem morbidly attached to my past-- but if you want to know, I got bored." He replied, turning her in his arms to her back was against his chest, he pulled her closer to him.

Evera shook her head and pressed against Shane. "No. Just curious. I should probably actually get to know the man I fall in love with." She smiled and reached one hand up to cup his cheek, and she kissed him upside down.

Shane nodded, understanding Evera's curiosity. "There's not much to know-- besides the person that you have now, completely different from the person other people have." He told her, sliding his hands down her arms slowly.

Shane shook his head once, with a small smile. "You've asked a question already-- it's my turn." He thought a question up and gently massaged circles into the palms of Evera's hands. "How'd you get this-- vampiric quality?" He asked, letting his cool breath caress her neck and shoulder.

Evera shivered and closed her eyes. "Why should I tell you?" She asked. What she really wanted to say was 'make me.'

Shane shrugged, he didn't want to make Evera do anything she didn't want to. "You don't have to, if that's what you want." He replied.

Evera laughed and turned around, putting her hands on his chest. "I was kidding. I thought I might turn you playful." She thought for a minute and then decided to just spit it out and take cover. "Darren did it." She adverted his eyes, not wanting to look Shane in the eyes.

Shane immediately clenched his teeth, a growl low in his chest. One day he was going to have that annoying vampire's heart served to him a silver platter. He dropped his hands to his side and let them clench into fists, knuckles turning white.

Evera smiled at his response, happy that he wanted to protect her. She pried his hands open with her thin fingers and held them. "You could go beat him up if you want to. I think it would make you feel better." She stood on her toes and rested her forehead against Shane's. She didn't actually expect him to, but it wouldnt suprise her if the vampire went after her ex.

Shane smiled for Evera, "You think so, think I could take him in a fight?" He joked, kissing the tip of her nose. He really wanted to take her advice, smack the man around for a bit-- break a few bones, dislocate a few joints; all the typical stuff. He shook his head to himself, no he wouldn't. He wasn't going to waste time trying to find the man-- but if he ran into him sometime, he'd make sure he got a point across with a swift kick or punch.
