Please be more specific about the going on you are inquiring about. There seem to be rather a lot lately.
*Nikkos saw that Ben was still breathing and let him be. He went over the Layra and tried to help her off the floor.*

"What happened to that Haines fellow?" Jon was still feeling a little over protective over Chesna. He didn't like thinking that she was hanging around with this Layra. She seemed to be even more to his disliking this visit.
Nat came out from down the hallway covered in blood.

I don't think any of us rightly know. What to angry mobs usually do with the victims they capture? I've always managed to excape the ones after me. *Layra looked over at Nathan as he came down the hall.* Well, don't you just look delicious. I suppose that belongs to Chesna. So, how does whe taste. *She said this last with obvious contempt.*
*Nikkos just stood beside Layra with his mouth hanging open. He never seen her act like this before. Than again, he had know her less than week.*

Nat glared over at Layra, "Her blood is better than you'll ever know." Nat entered the kitchen and brought out a pot of boiling water and head back to the back room.
Jon ignored Nat. "That poor fellow is probably lynched to high heaven by now."

Better than I'll ever know? That's cute. Yes, I'm sure Haines has long departed. I kind of miss him, he was usuful...and rather fun to play with.

Chesna screamed from down the hallway.
Ben was wide awake and jumped up. He dashed down the hallway and into the room Chesna was in.
Jon follwed Ben.

Chesna, who was also covered in blood, was holding a very small pale baby in a very small towel. She was smiling, the baby was biting her wrist, trying to feed. She looked up at Ben and smiled even bigger, "It's a girl!"
Ben was floating on air. He staggered over to Chesna's side.
Jon stood next to Nat and kissed his cheek, smiling too.

*Layra walked over to Chesna and puhsed a strand of her hair behind her ear.* How ya feelin' hon? *She asked softely.

"Ow..." The baby was biting quite fearlessly at her wrist. Suddenlly as the baby hit her vein she felt a familer chill run up her arm and she knew the child wasn't Ben's. The color drained from her face and she became sick to her stomach.
Ben being oblivious to this turned to Jon,"I thought you couldn't bite your own kind?"
Jon, who was now leaning on Nat answered, "Only the Velti's cannot bite one another."
Nat noticed Chesna's face and became concerned. He walked over to her.

You see Benny Boy, its just a small defect THEY bread into us so that we couldn't have unregistered children and ruin their experiments, or develope an independant society.
*Nikkos actually laughed. He couldn't be believe he had but he did. That was the oldest Velti joke in the book. It made people feel so sorry for them, but it wasn't even close to true.*

Ben now noticed Chesna's face. He stored Layras comment in the back of his mind to ask Chesna later. He put his hand on her head and asked, "Whats wrong?"
Chesna began to shiver. The child was still feeding, she couldn't stop it if she wanted to. It needed quite alot of blood before it could sleep. She wasn't sure how to tell Ben about the child. Her mind flashed back to the night with Lucifer, she still didn't remember anything that happened.
Nat and Jon were looking from the child to Chesna to Ben.

Nat and Jon understood. They both thought, 'Maybe it's best not to tell him...' They weren't sure what to do. Then a thought popped into Nat's head. "We'll take care of the child for you Chesna, once you are done with the first feeding." He was hoping everyone would go along with it.
Chesna understood what Nat was trying to do. She looked up at the confused Ben and said, "I was worried that I wouldn't be able to travel or have to take the child with us, I don't want it in danger. Thanks Nat." She understood how hard with would be for Nat to take care of something that was his.

Well, it seems that these people have things to discuss and we seem to be in the way. Come on everyone. *She walked toward the door. On the way she grabbed Nikkos's hand as he walked out with her. Ben didn't weem to be moving so she grabbed him by the shirt and drug him out.*
