"Came here just yesterday; in time for the kids to run off into the forest" Carol spoke and nodded her head as she did so "We spent all day lookin' for them to!" She sighed and stopped washing the dish she was working on "It was a strange string of events, and I guess thats how I knew I wasnt in a normal village. I myself have yet to actually speak to Chiaku, but I have seen her. She led us when we were in the forest. That's also where I got to know ms Sai"

Ayira stood leaning against the counter in the cornner of the kitchen watching the movement and action around her without saying a word. Finally when the thunder struck and light flashed outside she shook out of her dream like trance. Ayira moved her long brown hair out of her eyes and walked to the window, "How beautiful" she said softly as she gazed out on the drak gray blues of the storm. Turning back to face the room she blushed lightly, "Wow a room full of people and the only one I know is Ms. Kizzy..." she said with a small laugh. "Allow me to introduce myself, I am...well...Lady Ayira...but thats a formale title please just call me Ayira." she said with a gracefull and playfull bow. She stood up slowly and winked am Kizzy, the picture she drew for her was tucked away in a pouch on her belt, she now took it out and walked over to the little girl. "If I may have a moment of your time Ms. Kizzy you forgot to sign the wouderous work of art you did for me...would you honnor me by signing it now?" she said sweetly to the pancake loving little girl, as she layed the picture next to her but not in the way of her food.

Lori nodded, hefting her bags onto her back. It would be dreadful trying to get everything dry again, including herself, but worse would be her bags. She had a few precious books in there, and so hurried along with DS, hoping the teahouse wasn't too far away.

Luckily for the both of them, it wasn't. Still, DS was quite damp by the time she reached her home. Tearing the door open, she ran inside. "Linnea?"

A shortish shadow peered out from behind the counter. "DS?"

"Lita, have you seen Linnea?" the woman asked breathlessly.

"Not since this morning. Though I was in the kitchen for a while, I may have missed her-"

"Then I'm going to check the house." Finally remembering her company, she getsured to the young lady next to her. "This is, eh, Leslie was it? She said she needed to find us... be a dear and give her what she needs, Lita."

Without another word DS ran out out of the room, though her footsteps were still audible.

Lita cocked her head almost unnoticably. "Well, how may I be of service, Leslie-san?"

However Linnea was not inside. Her head was tilted up to best catch the falling rain, her skin enjoying every drop of it. Most of her clothes, including kimono and shoes, had been carefully draped over a chair inside a small lean-to nearby, and the fae was soaking in an all-but-abandoned spring, one of the teahouse's attractions before the attendant had left.

This, she thought with a happy sigh, was truely wonderful.

"An emergency?" Loki looked around the inn worriedly, but nothing seemed amiss as far as she could tell. There were still plenty of people around, and the strange little girl. She spotted another small child under the table, too. They wouldn't keep the children here if they didn't have it under control, she guessed.

"That's your daughter, right?" she said, attempting to make conversation. "The cart driver who brought me here had some really tall tales about the local children."

Kizzy munched on the last of her pancakes imagining what a blackout looked like, but all she could think of was Absalom, he was black and didn't do much, so he must be a blackout! Her attention turned to her drawing of Ayira. Kizzy didn't know what 'signing' meant. Did it mean her name, so everyone could admire that too? She licked the fork and thought about it some more. She didn't know what her name looked like. Just how it sounded. She picked up her crayon and made a hard thick line, that stood for the 'K' sound in her name. Next to it she made some squiggly zigzags, to take care of the 'Z' noise. "There, Kizzy!" She handed the picture back to Ayira with a grin.

Sai put up her hands to calm Loki, "No worries! Ms. Morato wasn't injured here in the Inn. We're just keeping an eye on her here." She looked back at Kizzy who was looking ready to be cleaned up soon. "Yes, that's my little girl. Her name is Kizzy, she's a Fae." Looking at Kapono neslted under the table, "That little sleepy one is too. Many of the children here come from the forest. They're born from little seedlings." She felt a bit silly describing them. "I'm sorry, it must seem really strange to you. Mayor Chiaku is here as well, I'm sure she'll be able to answer any further questions about the origin of the little ones."

Lori stood just inside the door, peeking around curiously. When Lita spoke to her directly, she jumped, grinning sheepishly. "The name's Lori. I'm supposed to be the new gardener here? I don't know where I'm supposed to sleep or anything.."

As she talked on, Lori thought she must have sounded pretty stupid, so she shut her mouth. She smiled again, holding up her bags.

"A hot bath and some dry clothes would be nice though."

"Ah I see, I recently came to the village and I also have seen Lady Chiaku, but it was during the time that gold fae's mother was injured...I thought it wasn't a perfect time to talk to the governess so I still have to see her" Paine said, grabbing another dish. "Miss Sai is a wonderful person" she said, starting to rinse the dish. She then changed the subject to Kapono. "So, how long did you have Kapono? He's the third fae I've met in this village, and boy is he an energetic boy" she joked. She saw with her own eyes the small fae loved sleeping. "But really, he's very cute when he's sleeping, he seems so...peaceful...and carefree" she said smiling and washing the dish.

"Today" Carol stated as she shook her hands back and forth riding them of extra water before turning to a towel and wiping her hands with it. "He...Is isnt he?" She giggled staring at the boy before walking over and crawling under the table to pick him up and tehn crawled out holding the boy close to her. He snuggled closer to Carol which provoked a smile before to walked over to paine. "Wanna hold him?" She asked slightly before looking at Kizzys dishes. "Ms. Sai; we can do those for you if you wish"

"Sure" Paine said. She then eyed Kizzy's dishes. "Uh, maybe after the dishes are finished....if Miss Sai lets us" she said. But, before Sai tells them anything, Paine stroked Kapono's hair, looking at the little fae. She smiled. "Ah, children...." she sighed, remembering her childhood, but it was a little foggy. She couldn't remember certain details to her life. "I wonder why" she thought, and continued looking at Kapono.

"Oh, Carol! No, no, no! I won't hear of it! You both have done enough already. It's my job anyways, as maid and mommy." She looked at Kizzy's syrupy face. "And it's interesting how they seem to be the same thing." Bowing slightly at Loki, "If you'll exscuse me, I must tend to cleaning up." Sai picked up the dishes and headed off to the kitchen with Kizzy in tow. In a few minutes the dining ware and little girl's face were spotless, and Sai was off to polish off the rest of the messes about the kitchen. Meanwhile Kizzy was off to investigate the fire place again.

Carol smiled and moved out of the way "As you wish ms sai" She spoke and headed back over to the table, pulling out a scratch peice of parchment and a pen. Slowly she drew a face and hair and then a body with a rough sketch of the outline of a dress. "Ms paine? Could you take over from here?" She asked and slid the paper over to another seat next to her. "There; That would be the outline. Now If you could touch it up and add design, we could turn that into something, what do you think?" She asked holding the small boy close. "Im thinking i want white and pink, maybe blue" she spoke repeating the colors she had decided on earler. "And we must start yours to!" she giggled and then she remembered something important.

She quickly stood and slid Kapono back in her chair and walked over to Sai and quickly let out a deep breath to ready herself. "Ms sai" she started and winced. How was she going to get out what she needed to say? "Um...Due to recent events I have no money on me..." she said with a sigh and a frown placed on her face. "But i REALLY could use a place to stay...Is there...some work I could do for you as far as my skills go, that is to say...that I could do as to pay for the rent?" She mentally slapped herself as she relized that that had probabally made no sense whats so ever. She decided to clear it up; If only for her own sake. "Like sew something up for you all to pay for it instead of money it's self?"

"Fae? Wow," said Loki wonderingly as the maid hurried off. Children in seeds! It sounded like something straight out of a story. Though probably the type of stories locals told to credulous visitors as a joke, she thought sourly, to see if they'd believe. Sai would be laughing about it as she cleaned. But... Sai hadn't looked like the type to play such tricks. Loki found she really wanted it to be true. Surely not all the truly magical things should exist only in the imagination?

Still wondering how seriously to take the story, she drifted over to the table to see what the other women were writing.

"Hello. Are you staying at the inn, too?" she asked, taking an empty seat.

The little green and brown baby was on the chair nearby. She could see what looked like little wooden wings on his back. If it was a joke, it was certainly an elaborate one.

She pulled back her tangled purple hair and brought out her own writing implements, checking them over to see that the paper was still dry and the inks hadn't leaked.

Sai swept up the last of the flour from the floor into a dust pan and began to scrub it clean with a soapy brush. "Well, Carol, I'm just a maid... I'm not responsible for your fees." She felt a bit embarrassed about her situation, as she was being looked to as someone in charge. "You'll have to discuss things with Cordy." She pulled out a rag and dried off the floor to prevent any slips.

Kizzy glared angrily through the window at the rain outside. Over at the fireplace Kizzy looked at her pile of soot with a grin, and reached towards it. However, she quickly pulled her arm back as the rain from outside fell on it. "Quit it~! I'm sick of dis stuff!" She sat down and proceeded to kick her feet in a mini tantrum shreiking about the weather.

Sai opened up a cubboard and began to put back some of the fresh dishes, when a picture caught her eye. She replaced it with the plates and shut the door. "It's Absalom." Kizzy's screaming caught Sai's ears and she ran off to see what was up. "Sweetie! Shhh, shhh, shhh. There is no need to be upset. You're disturbing the other people." She knelt down and handed Kizzy her drawing in hopes it would calm her down. "Here, I found this in the kitchen." The little girl grabbed quickly at the drawing and held it close. "Mine~!"

Just like DS to get the names mixed up. Lita couldn't help but laugh as she wiped down a nearby table. She took great care to keep herself as hidden as possible, but was finding it hard. Already she liked this woman.

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Lori-san. I believe the rooms for groundstaff are in the back. I could lead you there now if you like. As far as baths go, there's an open-air hot spring in back, though there isn't an attendant. Part of it is covered by an awning, so it should be useable if you don't mind the wind. Clothing's a little harder, but I bet we can dig up robes for you until your work clothes dry."

Paine looked at the sketch. "Pink...White...and possibly Blue" she murmured. "Hmm" She thought long and hard about the design. "What do you think Kapono?" she said to the small fae. "Would your mother like something I designed for her?". She continued thinking...hmmm....flowers? nah... "Hmm...." she thought, looking at Kapono, lost deep in thought. She snapped out of it when she saw the answer was right in front of her. "Something Kapono related? Maybe Carol would like that...". Would she? Paine racked her brain, thinking of different designs to choose from. "Decision making is so hard..." she sighed.
