Yakov caught with Jeff as he was headed back with Kyle. He changed as well. "Oh s**t. Is he okay?"

I blame my lack of posting on work, because it's been eating my soul. Here's my attempt at catching up.

When the room had cleared Connor plopped down next to Luka with his empty champagne glass. It had been a decent beverage, but couldn't hold a lit match to the scotch she'd given him last week. There was a tiny drop left in the bottom, so he tilted the glass this way and that, watching the golden fluid move around.
"So... someone's finally fond of your brother enough to put up with him permanently?" Connor smirked. "Never thought that would happen." He was quiet a moment. "Still, I'm glad for them. Jeff has been pretty good for the truck-destroying hard-a**." At this he laughed. He might never forgive Yakov for tearing the door off his truck all those months ago.
"Make any New Year's resolutions?"

At some point Curtis had fallen asleep, and with an incredibly pleased smile on his face. The smile was still there when he woke, though he couldn't help a slight sigh of disappointment. He was going to miss care-free nights like that when Katra went back to school. Curtis blinked his groggy eyes. Wait a minute...
Katra would be turning back into a wolf in a couple of days, assuming that all went well. Did that mean she'd be able to take day classes instead? The smile returned to him. Maybe on some nights he could help her... unwind... after a long day of studying.

Kyle was shivering in Jeff's arms. "He's fine, just cold. The sooner we get him back in the house, the better." Seeing Kyle half frozen had calmed Jeff down quite a bit. He ran back to the house with Kyle and Yakov. Once inside he put Kyle down on one of the sofas and covered him with blankets.

Katra had been feeling more and more of the pains and pulls from the bite Curtis had given her the week before. She was so close to the full moon, it was almost unbearable for her. But she wouldn't let Curtis know how much pain she was really in.
She had had a fine evening with Curtis and the girls. Once the girls were in bed she had thoroughly worn Curtis and herself out. She was curled up against him, waiting for the sun to rise. She could be awake when it was up still, but sleeping during the night was still near impossible.
A gasp caught in her throat as her insides contorted and rebelled against the two waring sides of her. Thankfully the wolf was winning, but either way, it was still painful.

Yakov sighed. "Those two have got it pretty bad for each other." He put an arm around Jeff. "They remind me of this other couple I know."

Jeff huffed. "Well, this is my fault, and there is a big difference between us and them. First off, neither of us are 18, or human."
Kyle was in and out of consciousness, he heard kind of what Yakov and Jeff were saying but he couldn't quite tell.

Yakov laughed. "No, but if it weren't for someone who will not be named, we would've been mates before I'd even dealt with the fact the I like men."

"And so humble, too," Connor laughed. Then he stood up and stretched before setting the glass down. "Well, everyone else is gone, most of them to their rooms." He smirked. "So why don't we follow the trend?"

"Are you alright?" Curtis asked when he heard a soft gasp coming from his mate. He'd been just awake enough to hear her. Her discomfort was easy to sense, so Curtis reached over and placed a hand on her back. "You're almost there," he assured her.

Luka smiled. "That's genius." She grabbed Connor and practically pulled him upstiars.

Kat was silent and still for a moment before she let out the breath she had been holding. "Just peachy. You should get some sleep, love." But it was Kat that was falling asleep, the sun had just risen. It was only a minute or two before she was out cold.

"Well, if I remember correctly. You slept with me, told me you didn't like guys and ran...that doesn't sound like you were dealing with being gay very well..." Jeff was smirking down at Yakov.

Kyle stirred and groaned. "Will you two please shut up."
Jeff rolled his eyes and bent over him, checking his pulse and vitals. Once he was sure Kyle was ok he turned to Yakov, "Do you think we should get Holly?"

Yakov rolled her eyes. "Oh I don't know, maybe because Kyle said all he needed was your permission and maybe because she's the reason he wants this and even knows about it."
