Aiane looked at him and smiled. "Why would you have to be bold to ask my age? I'm 10 years old." She smiled at him some more flicking her ears. "Why do you ask?"

He was surprised by her answer. 10? Really? I thought you would have been younger then that. You don't look like a 10-year-old at all. She wasn't much younger then he was, and that really surprised him. He could have sworn she was two or three, but never in his wildest dreams would he have thought of her as 10.

She looked at him and thought. "Really? I think I'm 10 I don't really remember." She laughed blowing some more dirt around. "How old are you?"

I'm 16. I've been roaming around for a while, and seeing places. I've traveled a lot in my time, and I will probably continue traveling until the day I die. But that will be a good death for me. He smiles as he looks up to the stars starting to appear in the heavens. My spirit will always be with the wind, and nothing will ever stop me again from going where I want.

She looked at him and smiled. "you don't look that old." She followed his eyes and stared at the sky with him. "I don't want to live alone. It would be sad. But still you shouldn't jinx yourself by talking about that!." She smiled and looked at him again.

He gave her a sad smile, an looked out over the sea of grass. I tried romance several times, but I was not interesting enough for them. I will probably never have children, and maybe that's for the best. I do not think there are any who know as much about these plains though then I do, and maybe I may help one wayward traveler or another find their way through. I am occasionally luck to have a companion or two, like you yourself, who have found your way here. He itched his nose against his hoof again, dislodging a fly as he did.

Aiane looked at him and smiled. "I don't find you boring, though I am confuised at how you came to romance." She smiled. "I am glad that I can give you company."

I would rather enjoy the company he smiled at her as the stars gleamed brightly in the sky above. He watched them glow, and remembered the many stories he had come up with about the glittering guides above.I would enjoy that a lot.

Aiane tilted her head and smiled. "Why don't you find a companion who will stay her with you." She closed her eyes and laid her head on her legs, enjoying the night air.

Because everyone has their own romances, and have their own herds that they stay with and have paired off with, and the only ones I have found who like the plains, or to travel, are hard, or have a nasty temper. I do not want to spend time with someone who's company I can't enjoy. It would defeat the purpose of having a companion.

He shook his head. I'm not one to be under authority. I could never answer to another stallion. I can be friends with them, but they can't be in a higher command. So a lot of herds I can't get into. And not many females like traveling like I do, so I can't even find those. I've been trying, but the relationships I've tried, they never go very far.

She nodded her head and smiled. "I see, You've chosen quite a lonely life style." She didn't think she could live her whole life with out knowing that she could easily find friends. She lookd forward her eyes now open as she gazed at the land before her.

I guess I have. He slipped off into silence, just enjoying the cool night air. This had to have been the longest conversation he had ever had with another soquili in a long time. And he was rather enjoying it. Not just because she was a mare, but because she seemed to genuinely enjoy his company as well; something that had not happened in a rather long time. A sudden bright light caught his eye, and he watched the quickly racing star slide across the sky and vanish back into nothing. Foals made wishes on those stars, hoping that they would come true. He had stopped wishing a long time ago.

Aiane smiled and watched the sky as he stayed silent. She closed her eyes and sat there with him. When she opened hem again, she saw the same flash as he. He eyes widened and a huge smile formed. "A wishing star!" She clamored to get up and walked a little closer and watched as the little left over light vanished. She looked at Hidalgo and smiled. "I haven't seen one of those in forever! Did you wish for something? Wait you better not tell me or it wont come true!" She smiled and sat back down, right where she was before.
