"Heheh, you're old." She joked with a laugh as she glanced towards the male. Truth be told, he wasn't that much older... He was an adult, but a young one. Just a few seasons were between them.
"So, what? Y'gonna stay here, Northerner?"

"I'm not that old." he said. "I meant that you are too beautiful to be seen with an ugly thing like me." he sighed. "Well...I have nowhere else to go. Can't go home and this place is the only other place I like. So yes, i will stay."

"Orange is a pretty color." She stated bluntly, but still had a smile on her maw. "S'like the changing of the season from summer to fall, the leaves turn orange." She got to her paws and left what little remained of her badger behind, mostly just bone.
"Wellllll, I guess it's okay. I'll take it easy on you. I was just gonna chase you out and keep all of that hill to myself." She teased as she padded a little ways off and glanced back at the male.

He pushed her with his head and wagged his tail. "But the change of the leaves means the end of the warm times." he said with a smirk. "So you are the tree of flowers and I will be there when you die." he chuckled.

She shook her head, but grinned broadly. "Fine and good and whatnot. Ready to head back?"
She hopped to her paws and her long tail swished back and forth playfully as she peered down at the older larger male. If only she knew the truth... But the youngster was too happy and dreaming of a wonderful future with this great big brute, who she was now sure would treat her well.

"Yeah." he said with a laugh. "You have a lovley den. I assume you have to fight for it often." He picked up the last tidbits of badger and padded along beside her. She would be grown soon...

"Huh? Ah, yeah. Now and then. There are plenty of ruins, though. Packs need larger space, so it's been fine, for the most part." She padded along and playfully sped up a few paces, glancing back at her new friend and soon to be mate.
"You like it? There's probably better places, but I love it!"

He nodded with a wag of his tail. "Its shady and I assume it's warm when it gets cold." he licked behind her ear.

"Yeah... It's usually pleasant." She flicked her ear slightly as Efreet licked her and a broad grin split her maw. She padded to her little, shabby ruins and plopped down to her stomach once inside. It was nice, quiet, peaceful and cool.
"Care to nap? I'm exhausted."

He lowered his ears and panted as he went in. "Yes." he said. He laid down a little farther away from her.
He smiled. "I am so glad you didn't chase me off." he said. He closed his eyes and thought his next words. 'Just the two of us forever.'
He never wanted pups.

Efreet's wish to never have pups was completely unknown to the camouflage hued, young female. She shuffled nearer to the male in a rather comical, wiggling motion and snuggled into his brightly dyed fur.
"As am I..." She drifted off into a peaceful slumber, dreaming of the day when she and her future mate would have their first litter. Although she was more adept to life as a loner... Well, the exciting possibilities as a new mother were boundless.

He smiled, as he had smiled when Joska had cuddled against him like that. He licked her head softly as he began to drift into sleep.
'forever...and ever..'
And with that, he fell asleep. It was the only night he had not been woken by nightmares in six months.
