Marissa swore loudly. "What the ********!? Where's the damn movie?" she took a look at the door of the theater. "Wait guys look at this." She said reading the sign on the door out loud.
"Closed for Christmas. Will reopen on December 26, 2008. Happy Holidays!"
She looked at her friends with wide eyes. "Does this seriously mean that like it really is Christmas all over again?" Tristan jumped in with a tap to her nose that made her twitch and frantically rub her nose to get the weird feeling from her skin. "Of course it's not Christmas again. That's ridonkulous." He said also using the word they'd stolen from the movie "Bolt". "but if it is Christmas then we must have been thrown somehow into an alternate parallel universe. Something like a Wrinkle in time maybe." He said laughing. He quit laughing when Marissa pelted him in the back of the head with a snow ball. "Hush you!" she said hysterically.

(Maybe she has the keys for opening duties?)
There was no one else at the theatre. No one in line, and no one in shop setting up for the morning films. It hadn't been Katherine's job to open that day, but her boss hadn't shown up yet. It was unusual for him to be late. He liked to be there a little early just in case she was late, so that he could get on her for it.
What Katherine didn't know was that none of the other employees were likely to show up any time soon. It would be a large theatre to run by herself. Then again, these kids would probably be her only customers. They didn't realize it, but they were all different because they had been outside of town on Christmas Eve. Casey had been to a party just outside of town for a friend whose birthday was Christmas Eve. Sam had had to stay home at his family's insistence, it being a tradition for the entire household to whole up on Christmas Eve and Christmas, no matter what.
Officer Orson had also been out of town, taking the statement of a distraught older woman. An older friend of hers, who lived in town, had been missing since Christmas Eve. Normally cops didn't take much notice of these things, especially if it was an adult missing. Adults went "missing" all the time when they decided on a whim to move and neglected to tell their "friends" or family. But Orson knew this missing woman, and he decided it was best to do some followup-- off duty, of course. He had the day after Christmas off.
He'd left a message on the answering machine in the theatre office, a message that Katherine would mostly likely be the first person to get to. He wanted to ask if any of the employees had seen Mrs. Blackwell. She frequented the theatre and was thought to have been there on the day before Christmas Eve. Orson was careful not to say that it was police business.
(I'll be gone for a few days-- I think the hotel has internet, but if it doesn't, and if I fall too far behind, we'll just say that Casey and Sam went back home)

"Wait a minute... I thought yesterday was Christmas?.. Did I lose track of time and slept less than I thought?" Aurelia looked at Tristan like she was a bit crazy. "Oh, I wish I could get ahold of Erik..." She looked at her phone again. "He would know what to do in this snow.." She looked up at the group in front of her. "I'm sorry, I just moved to this town with my boyfriend--but he isn't here in town right now and he seemed to have forgotten to give me a map to all the stores. Do you know any good places to shop?" Aurelia was friendly and pretty trusting, though she sometimes talked a lot, especially when she was nervous or confused, and she was the latter due to the christmas issue.

Andrew got out of the car and walked into the door being held open by a theater employee. He'd seen the sign saying the place was closed, but figured maybe since they were just opening, no one had time to take it down yet. Maybe that explained the marquee as well. "Excuse me." He asked Katherine as he stepped past her. "Chainsaw Christmas opens today, right? December 26th? We were just checking out the signs and stuff but we didn't see it."

Tristan took Marissa's hand. "Yeah, there's this thing going on about how it's Christmas again today." He patted Marissa's head. "No kitty! no freaking out." He said laughing. He gave her a hug and smiled. Both Marissa and Tristan listened in on the conversation Andrew and the girl was having.

"Christmas was depressing one day, I don't really want to have to deal with it again....is it a big joke some of the town folks are doing on the rest of us do you think?" She was trying to understand this town, just moving here and not knowing any of the townsfolk she wondered if the whole town was just goofy like that. "Oh, my name is Aurelia. But all my friends call me Aura."

We'll it's lovely to meet you Aura. My name is Marissa, and this is my fiance Tristan." She said as he bowed a little to Aura. These are our friends, but we'll let them introduce themselves. That way I'm not taking charge of a meet and greet." She laughed as Tristan rolled his eyes. "And by the way, your aura is beautiful. A gorgeous color of serene blue and light pink. I think you are going to fit in just perfect in this kooky town of ours." Marissa said with a smile. Tristan scoffed at his fiance, and then turned to Aura. "She only thinks she see auras, although I'm just skeptical so I'm not sure." He said with a shrug. "Welcome to our town though. I'm not one to help you with your shopping, but if you're anything like the other kids, youth, or young adults here you'll find the Hot Topic and or Spencer's to have all your needs." He smiled.

She looked up and quikly put her phone away. Maybe she was just delusional, seeing it as the wrong number so something. She nodded. "Yea, it actually opened yesterday, but we weren't open," she half-explained. She took down the sign that said "Closed, etc." and put hte "Open" on on the hook instead. She ushered the group in, out of the cold, and checked her boss's office. It was closed, but not locked. No one was inside, and the light for the answering machine was blinking. She didn't touch it for now, thinking, Lucy will get it when she gets here, and if she doesn't show, I'll get it when these guys get to the movie. Heck, I may watch with them if no other customers show up. She stepped from the office, flicked on the light switched of the building, and went to the counter. "So how many for the first showing of Chainsaw Christmas?" She grinned her trademark grin, a finger over the number pad for the ticket machine.

"Alright! Guys, come on, we're seeing a movie!" Andrew was both relieved and feeling pretty stupid. He couldn't believe he'd let Sam and his family get to him with this stupid prank. Of course it wasn't Christmas all over again! Andrew went right up to the counter and waited for the theater girl to come back out. "One adult ticket for me, please." he said, reaching for his wallet. He sure as heck wasn't paying anybody else's way. "Hey, are you running the concession stand, too?" He supposed that wasn't too bad, seeing as how there weren't that many people here. Heck, most of the people that had arrived he knew and some he'd invited himself.

Aurelia smiled, "Thank you, I haven't talked to anyone who could actually see my aura besides my mother." She laughed, "I think that's why she named me Aurelia, so she could call me Aura. Anyways, I hate to be intrusive so if you could give me some directions to where the shops are, I would be in your debt."

Georgie pulled up to the curb. She had been blocked by a snowdrift and was only now arriving to the theater. She hopped out, locked the car, and hurried inside after the departing crowd. "Yo." Her eyes flickered to the sign that suggested that it was still the 25th. "Groundhog day parody much? Or am I the only one thinking that? One adult ticket for me, please." Even in all the freakiness, Georgie was proud that she was now 18.
Probably.

Katherine punched in Adult twice, and the dollar figure(s) came up. Not that she'd needed to; she knew the figures by heart. "That'll be seven-fifty," she said, handing both Andrew & Georgie a ticket each. "And, umm," She leaned forward to quickly look out the front window. The street was still covered in snow, and no car, nor walking person, was in sight. "I guess I will be running the concession stand. Also, the movie will start in 15 minutes, so you've got a bit of time." Seeing as she was the one starting the movie, this was true. Unless of course someone else happened to show up.
