"Estoy tan enfermo de esto!" Kei muttered to himself as he listened to Westly's short tirade. "Don't waste your breath Westly, your words mean as little to them as theirs do to you." Kei said to his companion from his arial platform. What he was more concerned about was how fast that woman was or rather how slow she was going, while to the others her movements may have seemed to fast to follow; Kei had been able to pick it up. Although not entirely, he hadn't seen her hands or her feet but he had been able to follow her central mass.

"Although to be quite honest I'm with you on this one Westly." Kei said with a shrug as he squatted on his platform, his arms resting lightly on his knees as he spoke. In fact is body language came across as be almost indifferent to the threat below him. "Why go through all the hassle of leashing a mad dog like Chaos when you could have done things better yourselves? Further more, why risk it? I mean consider that Chaos betrayed the village he was born in, joined another and betrayed them too, just so he could sign up with the White Hand? Doesn't make a lick of sense!" Kei said with a morose chuckle as he shook his head in a rueful manner.

"I pity you all! I mean think about it! A bunch of powerful individuals coming together to form a single syndicate with an obscure motive! What, are you planning in start a villain's union or something!?" Kei barked with laughter as he stood up and ran a hand through his long black hair, his grey eyes were devoid of the mirth he expressed. "Don't get me wrong know, your strength and skill is to be admired! But be honest with me, what do you hope to accomplish? Do you think that your strength our ability will encourage us to lay down our arms?" Kei asked, a touch of incredulity on his voice at the last.

"I'm sick of your shadow games, tell us straight up what your goal is?" Kei asked as he looked with hard but intrinsically curious gaze to the blue haired woman. "And one more thing, how about you tell me your name?"

*Soul's hands dropped to his sides; he felt so weak, actually feeling the breaking of his jutsu through his arms. He wanted to turn his head to look at the blue haired woman, but what if the rest of her amry decided to spring up on him? He also felt like attempting to stike her with a kunai of his own, but seeing all of their level of skill, and how fast she was, Soul was sure to end up being the only one sheding blood. Instead, he waited, allowing the little interrogation to continue. "Good cop, bad cop" wouldn't work here, so they'd just have to keep pushing, hoping for an answer*
Why this village? Why these people?

The female laughed and then vanished in a flash. The little girl and her army had also vanished into the brush and foliage. They had tricked the group by these questions. "If you really want to know the truth then go to the Grove village." Her voice seemed smug and deceitful. They were up to something.

Kei growled as once again the woman fled leaving nothing behind but unanswered questions. Clenching his right hand into a fist he punched one of the walls beside him out of anger, with a sharp crack the wall was left with a fair sized crater and surrounding structure appeared to be covered in a spider web of cracks. 'Every time you come within my grasp you flee; I will have my vengeance and you will suffer!' Kei thought to himself as the dust settled around him.

"Your call Soul, do we go on? Or do we go back to the village and report in to Azure? Personally, I would send Forza to report while we push on ahead." Kei said as he pulled his fist out of the wall, sending a small rain of debris to the street below.

Westly shook his head. "If we head back, it's to get reinforcements. I meant every word of what I said: they're strong in battle, but weak in spirit. Left to their own devices, they'll cause a lot of damage, but they don't have the... vision... to achieve anything lasting or meaningful." Hopefully, his companions would forget the rest of his words. This particular audience was unique: Forza "of the Bloody Road", Kei's desire to follow in Nekage's footsteps, and Soul, the leader of the Ketushai Assassins... ruthlessness, they'd tolerate more than most, Westly suspected, but ambition, a desire to upset the existing order of things... ambition was still the sole province of villains. Westly meant to change that, but it was too soon to be running his mouth without drawing some very incredulous looks.

Grinning, Westly rubbed the back of his head. "I can get a message to Azure if you want to report in. Or to the other team, if you'd like. If we're to continue, though, we're going to need to talk tactics. I've got a lot of new tricks up my sleeve, but I don't think I should use them in front of anyone who knows what they're looking at."

*Soul clenched his fist until he heard his knuckles crack. He turned his head to his team, looking for their reactions. He turned back and began walking forward to, you could say, the center of the Village, a large blackened wooden pole with arrows pointing different ways stood. Soul rubbed off a combination of what seemed to be soot and blood off these arrows and read them all*
Gaioh....Tar...Swamp...Grove.
*Soul looked in the direction the arrow pointed toward, and spoke loudly so his team could hear him from where they were*
Westly, do what you must to contact Azure; tell him we've lost track of the enemy, and that the Tar Village is desimated. We'll be heading for Grove Village as soon as possible. Got it? As for now, check the village for any survivors and resources we may need.
*Soul put his head down and walked away with his hands in his pockets, everywhere he stepped blood stained. To the right and left were small piles of bodies. It was unlikely that those team of ninja would have left someone to live, but if someone was still breathing out there, they'll find them*

Westly nodded and sat down, assuming the lotus position. "Watch my back while I do this, will you? I still haven't figured out how to keep my mind here and the other place at the same time. If those two double back, I'll be completely defenseless." He glowed with chakra, though it seemed oddly tinged with purple. Not really a new type of chakra--not yet--but it seemed like they were looking at his aura through a darkened mirror.

"And for the record," his voice echoed from everywhere and nowhere, "There is nothing alive that dreams in this village. Save the four of us. Though there are many dreams of the dead. One from the Village Hidden in the Grave could tell you more."

Westly cast out his mind past the Astral and the Ethereal towards the Dream, and like a bird flying to its home, his mind sought out those who came closest to understanding it. No one truly did, but some tried. Friends, allies, and the closer the better. He was fortunate. Two of his friends, though not particularly close, were standing in the same room. Azure... and Hideki Tougura.

Kei settled to the ground quietly as Soul gave his orders, the jounin gave a nod of his head to Forza to move out and scavenge for survivors or supplies they would need while he moved into a shadow cloaked nook in the wall of a building. Kei would stay with Westly and defend him, his skills as a tracker and combat specialist would be better used standing guard over the genjutsu user. Kei while rash at times was most often exceedingly patient and was quite adept at being perfectly still, save for the movements of his chest that proved he was breathing and not a lifeless statue.

In such a state, Kei was able to focus on one particular sense and block out the others. In this case, the raven haired young man was intent on his hearing. In the deathly quiet of the village, it was more likely to here an approach than to see it, and with his refined keenness of hearing, he would be alert and ready for any action directed towards Westly.

Kie could hear heavy breathing as he moved through the streets. A lone man sat in a back alley holding his bleeding leg, a kunai in it. He wore light shinobi armor but had no headband. A tatoo of a white rose on his shoulder and a scar down his left eye stood out.

Kei's eyes snapped open as he fixated upon the sound of the sound of breathing. Raising his left hand he veiled Westly's body in a skin tight fluctuating armor of wind, using his full breadth of skill in the creation of the armor; Westly would be protected from all but the most powerful of fire jutsus or the fastest moving projectiles. Certain that it would take a Kage-strength attack to get to the genjutsu user he moved out.

Slowly traversing the streets he kept his footfalls silent as he rounded a corner and proceeded down an alley way. Pausing at a junction he listened intently once more before turning to his left and moving down the cramped space. As he reached the end, he extracted a lighter from his yukata and flicked it open with a practiced flourish and sparked a small flame that illuminated the small corner of the alley.

To the man hidden in the corner, all that was evident was an aristocratic face with long black hair, so deep that in the firelight it reflected hues of deepest amethyst, emerald, and sapphire. The light reflected off of the band of metal, sewn into the left shoulder; a single feather etched into the surface.

"What happened to you?" Kei asked the wounded shinobi as a chilling gust of wind flowed into the alleyway and rushed over the pair.

Meanwhile...

His conversation with the Kage complete, Westly's eyes opened. He took in Kei's absence, and the weird freaking protective jutsu he was encased in, and put the two together. Still... "...the heck?" Westly said aloud. "How did he...? A persistent chakra effect requires persistent chakra expenditure. If he's not here to maintain the jutsu, why is the wind armor stuff still swirling around?"

As if in response to Westly's disbelief, the wind armor winked out. "...I need to stop doing that," he muttered.

"I was attacked by that b*****d girl and her minions..." He said as he stood up, using the wall to hold himself up. "I've been spying on her for a while now... This is the first time she found me... And who are you?"

"I doubt you know of me but if you must know my name is Kei Norisu." Kei introduced himself but he abstained from revealing anything beyond his own individual presence as if the man turned out to be hostile he wouldn't know that there were others in the area. "I just encountered the girl myself but her forces retreated before I could get any information out of them. Mind telling me what you know?" the raven haired jounin asked as he kept his eyes trained on the wounded man.

After a few moments of being bored, Westly decided to figure out where everyone had gone. The ability to sense the chakra of others wasn't unheard of; Westly could manage it on a good day with people he knew. Friends, allies, especially people actively thinking about him. Positive emotional connections. Hatred tended to fuzz things a bit, and apathy killed it.

Kei hadn't gone far, it seemed. Westly leapt across a few rooftops and hopped down from the nearby building into the alleyway. He looked from Kei to the wounded man and back, waiting expectantly for something. "Umm... Ya maybe want me to heal him?"

Westly looked the ninja over. "Then again... I hate to say it, but I don't like the looks of this. How the hell did he manage to get away with only a knife in the leg? Everyone else here is chunked or extra crispy." He looked at Kei meaningfully. "Five bucks says it's a trap. Girl was a 'Genjutsu Master', remember?"

*Soul's ears picked up their talking from his position, so he began walking over to them with his hands in his pockets. He gave a sigh, knowing that Westly was right. They had to make a quick decision to whether help this actual victim, or be put in some avoidable predicament((SP?)). He made it over to them and observed the man closely, checking him inch by inch until he made it to the tattoo on his shoulder. It could be nothing, but nothing was really going the way they thought, so who knows? Soul spoke in a soft, yet stern tone towards the man*
If you can give us a few answers, our little medic over here can help you out with your leg. We are nin from Gaioh here to retrieve some information; maybe you can help us. Why did communications stop between our two villages? What exactly has been going on around here, other than that group of thugs slaughtering this village?
