Soul when you and your team are ready post.

Soul's teams mission is to check out the Tar village on information about the local villages and their actions. To find out exactly why they have stopped with communications!

*The day was cool, the season's winter now transitioning into spring. It was very early in the day, about 5 AM. The sky was grey and the clouds covered just about every inch of greyness. Soul walked towards one of the village gates, a black nap sack over his left shoulder. He wore his usual clothes, a sleeveless black shirt, a dark red jounin vest with a pair of pants to match, black ninja shoes, and a pair of black fingerless gloves. His katana was off to his left hip as his weapon's pouch was on his left "cheek". He stood near the gate, awaiting his team*

Westly walked up to the designated meeting place. No flashy entrances, no nothing. He didn't even appear to have his gear with him.

"I may be a few minutes late," said Westly. "My apologies. I'm, uh, still making some last-minute preparations. Just, uh, smack me or something when Kei and Forza show up. Or if you want to talk. My attentions are, uh, presently elsewhereabouts. Preparations." Westly convulsed suddenly, and his lips moved out of sync with what he was saying. He made a noise that sounded like a thunderclap underscored by the buzzing of electricity. "OW! Sonnovabitch! I'm sorry, I have to take care of this. I'll call you back."

Westly then froze in place like a mannequin... or like a paused recording. Soul had probably puzzled out that it was some sort of bizarre illusion/clone thingy.

Kei strode to the gate in a silence befitting the somber mood of the predawn sky. He seemed to be shrouded in shadows, the smooth black silk of his yukata and pants draping neatly over his skin and coupled with his erect carriage of himself lent him a noble air and presence. Coming to a rest beside Soul, Kei gave his fellow jounin a curt nod of greeting.

*Soul politely returned the nod to Kei. He had his arms crossed, body laying against a nearby tree*
So, are we still awaiting someone?

Kei sighed to himself, "It would appear that something is keeping Westly and that probably means that the same thing is keeping Forza as well. Sorry about the delay Soul, if I had known that those two would be so unpunctual I wouldn't have recommended them to you." Kei said with a shrug, "It seems that we'll just have to wait for those two before we go. Unless you want to move on and let them catch up?" Kei asked the other Jounin with an impish smile of mischief.

Westly's lips didn't move. "No... no, I'm kind of nowhere near Forza. I merely... concluded... that I still had time for some final preparations so long as we're still waiting on his arrival. I might speculate that he went out drinking with Yamado again, and this resulted in an impromptu contest over whether or not a pirate could do more shots of rum than an earth-nin... again." More distant explosions. "Like I said, though, if we're leaving without him or some such, I can be there in about... thirty seconds. That might even be a better idea than--" A louder, closer-sounding explosion, underscored by crackling electricity. "--CKING GNOME BEARDS! Why did I think I could make a working weather machine? I should never have tried to play God!"

The image went silent for a bit.

Forza approached the group shouldering his recently acquired giant brush.
"Sorry for the delay, I had an unexpected visitor... never mind, On to business"

Westly through his head back and screamed. His eyes, his mouth, and even his very pores seemed to emanate light. He exploded violently, and when the smoke cleared... Westly was just kinda standing there, fine. He had his gear with him this time.

"Dramatic entrance enhanced by illusions, check. Gear, check. Travel Guide and maps of the area, check. Alright, I think we're ready to start walking. You know, unless someone feels like summoning a wind spirit or some such to bear us to this village of wings of the very sky itself? No? Well, we'll work on that. Onward!"

He stepped forward as if to begin the journey.

*Soul did not move; he just gave a puzzled look towards Westly. He had not seen the boy much, and in his opinion, he was a bit odd. None the less, Soul shrugged it off and began walked forward, through the village gate at a moderate pace*
Let's go; we have no time to waste. From this point, we will not stop unless it is urgent. We will set up camp one hour after nightfall. Understood?
*Soul did not look back, nor wait for a responce from any of them. He frankly did not care; he just wanted to get to the Tar Village as fast as possible*

"Wasting your strength on flash intro's again... Your playing with the big kids now Westly... Try to keep up" Forza joined Soul in a brisk stride, pausing only to pull out a small notebook and pen. As he moved, he began making sketches of the surroundings.

Westly grinned. "Nah, minor illusions like that don't take that much chakra. It'll grow back before I need it. And on the subject of things that take less stamina than walking, Autohypnosis no Jutsu." He stared off into space for a bit, perusing a memory he'd recorded earlier. Reading the Clan Scrolls, as it happened. There were perks to joining a clan, and even more to joining the winning clan. Forza was a Jounin. It was all fine and good for him to be sketching the forests. Westly, the only Chuunin present, was going to need every edge he could muster just to keep up with his teammates.

"Don't fret over it too much, the one on one competition you go through in the tournament is generally more intense than anything you'll see in the field. Just keep your wits about you and you'll be fine." Kei said as he stepped beside the chunnin and gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder for encouragement. Opening his pace somewhat, Kei seemed to glide forward silently as he caught up to his fellow jounin.

After a few days and nights of travel the group came to the border of the nations. They stood on a large cliff that overlooked a large plain that seemed to go on forever yet in the distance they could see the tar pits that led to the Tar village.

The Tar village was famous for their fire Ninja. The village was often at war with the Village Hidden in the Jungle for territory. Recently however the two villages have stopped their fighting with the Tar nation gaining large amounts of land.

"So," said Westly, deferring to Soul. "Do we walk in the front, announce ourselves, and hope that diplomatic immunity will protect us? Or do we sneak in the back, blend in with the natives, and hope that our wits and subterfuge will protect us? Or half-and-half. You're the only ANBU here, I could..."

An idea struck Westly. "Soul, I have a couple side businesses, one of which is import/export. I could pass for a traveling merchant easily and probably draw less eyes than a ninja in uniform. Three ninjas is a typical team size. They won't expect a fourth."
