Jade hmmmmed lightly, looking over at the very scraggled scenery laid out in front of their troupe on the note of finding these 'rocks' that would prove most useful in finding them a nice camping spot that would be relatively safe, given their location. Mmmmm,hmmmmm... well...

"I do know that my vision is significantly lacking," Ha, he probably saw better WITHOUT the glasses on "but perhaps that up ahead will work out for the best." Jade motioned with a hand to the scene in front of him, oh ho ho?

Aster's ears flattened a bit at the gesture of 'MAYBE THAT Y/N?' from Jade as she looked towards what he was gesturing towards, squinting her eyes in the dark to try and make out the form of-.... Dammit, she needed better 'night eyes', because all she was seeing was Darkness.

And darkness...
... oh, and those funny shapes. Was that what he was pointing out?

Okay, now THAT had been a little too conveniently close, Kanda having to squint as well to see the formation that was being pointed out. Nnngh.

Indeed, that WAS a rock formation (and from where HE was looking, it looked vaguely familiar.. oh hell...). "Will it fit our party though?"

Jade was practically glowing; or perhaps that was his aura of 'OGODGETITAWAY'. He didn't know. "Well, we'll just have to go look!"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 3:31 pm

Just the look on his face revealed that Yossarian didn't believe any of Jade's claims about poor vision (just like he didn't believe in those brittle bones and arthritic pains and all other age related woes the man kept spouting), but he bit down on his tongue, hard, and didn't let himself comment.

"... Well then, let's look," he mumbled flatly, pushing right on past Hanna at the lead with little patience whatsoever while the rest of the group DAWDLED to start off towards it.

Waste time? Hmph, he was far from that dense-- and the others should have known better, too! Why on earth were Shae and the swordsman just idling like that?!

Shae, of course, had her reasons... but she wasn't about to say them out loud either, and just passed Kanda one of those looks-- the kind that said its share without words-- and shrugged her shoulders, trying (and failing) not to let her ears sink back any further than they already were.

"I think it should..." She, of all people, would've known.

"Well good!" Hanna beamed, "seems like Mister Yossarian's determined to lose us-- let's not give him the satisfaction, hmm?" With that, she, too, was trotting along after... and the latter halfbreed girl followed in tow, not allowing the anxiety to show.

Karma had a very cyclical sense of irony, and she already knew that, even, but... Why here? Why now? Why again were they running across the same places?

Couldn't they have come from another direction? ANY other direction at all?

She even wondered (guiltily) if the flowers were still in bloom.

Aster's ears drooped as she followed along at the tail end of the group (obviously away from her pretty man ;D. Though srsly, did she have to act all 'depressed' whenever something he did upset her? Because she was acting like a VICTIM!)

But she at least was KEEPING UP instead of trailing off to sit somewhere and wibble and whine and SOB THATHEDIDN'TLOVEHERANYMORE. Because dammit, she knew better than to accuse him of that. He had proven there was ..'feelings' and stuff of the mutual nature so many times over and then some (plus some self control preventing things was also a factor..ah ha ha). But..
...
...... She just felt like perhaps he was getting a little..sick of her clinging. So she was backing off.. and whining to herself at the very least. Maybe someone in front of her could hear that HIGHPITCHEDOHGODOWWW sound. Maybe.

Or something.

Truth be told, she was just trying to ...meeeh. She was becoming ANNOYYIIINNG. SHE DIDN'T WANT TO BE ANNOOYYIIINNGGG. WAHHH!

While following along of their 'fearless leaders', Kanda's ears flattened back against his head at the sound of the DEATHWHISTLE from behind him. Good GOD that girl was just 'WHIIIINNNEEE' for some reason. If she really wanted Yossarian to come to her so badly, she could have ASKED.

afjdslfkhasdfkjaskdfasdh;fsakdfj.

However, Kanda sighed a bit to block it out. "Seems like we've come full circle from yet another point in our travels." he said, looking to Shae.

YES.

BECAUSE TALKING WILL MAKE THE WHINE GO AWAY.

Jade, who had easily taken the lead, was the first to GET to said rock formation and chitter almost like Langston would. "Why! Would you look at all of those flowers, Hanna?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 5:12 pm

... For the record, he could hear every high-pitched note of it back there.

Perhaps Yossarian's ears were just unfortunately tuned to the sound of whining, but he couldn't even block it out when he tried, and it... it drove him nuts, every step of the way. He winced at it, and perhaps even grimaced, but with his back turned to the others and his eyes forward, surely it was imperceptible.

If anyone asked, he'd blame it on the flowers... which had an odd, intoxicating, yet faint sweetness about them as soon as he got within sight of the little pseudo-oasis. A slope in the dusty earth, covered in blossoms, some scattered rocks here and there on the outskirts... Unpleasant as it seemed, they probably wouldn't be finding any better campsites in the near future.

"Well, at least it should reduce sand in the bedding..." he mumbled to himself, promptly grabbing a couple of bags from Fabio's saddle as soon as the irksome horse had caught up and proceeding to start the 'settling in' without any further ado.

Shae had endured the same suffering as both males when it came to that whining, although, unlike Yossarian and Kanda, perhaps she felt a twinge of pity for poor Ma'am along the way... Something was obviously distressing her to be acting that way, wasn't it? Probably wasn't just environmental stress, either... but no, she had other things to keep her mind busy.

"Seems like it..." was all she had muttered in turn to Kanda's commentary, just sort of... staring out at the flower field in vague detachment, almost as if her brain were trying to discern it all as real or fake.

She could even smell it faintly. It was the very same as she remembered.

"Let's help Mister Yossarian unpack now," a hand on her shoulder startled the poor girl out of whatever thought she'd been having, nearly jumping out of her skin as she saw Hanna pass by. "Before that frown freezes on his face."

"... O-oh, yes Ma'am," Shae nodded hastily, forced away from just standing there to go and do just that. Del, however, had actually fluttered off her shoulder to just whirl around aimlessly instead-- perhaps taking in the surroundings?

It was difficult to say. One never knew with the little golem.

Aster too had taken to unloading the horse (who seemed delighted by the flowers.. perhaps as a snack), grabbing off a few of the 'lighter' bags within her own carrying capacity before sighing and arranging them in a sort of 'orderly' fashion; given they had no reason to crack them open yet.

Only once she had done some 'decent' work, did she grab one of the bedrolls to unroll and curl up on top of, not quite willing to melt herself underneath it yet.

That and her sunburn yelled protest of it. Ah haha. Silly sunburn was silly. And then some. Not to say it didn't have it's own special variety of pain as well. But..asjfl;.

She'd just settle for slowly freezing. Maybe it would take just as long to wear off in the morning... once she could get herself to go to sleep. fajsfl;.

Kanda, on the other hand, had no problem with hefting about heavier bags to set aside and even unpack some cooking supplies to make a rather.. modest meal out of. Though one wouldn't be able to say Kanda couldn't cook.

He did at least make something that was substantial enough to not make one go 'NUUUZ, IS HUNGREEEE' or whatever else.

And even in her depressed funk, Aster ate, so it wasn't as though she was falling back into her 'PUNISHIN' MAHSELF' habits. Which was most excellent.

Though the scent of the flowers at least reminded him that LOOK, THEY'D COME BACK ALIVE.. Huuh. "Wonder how the puppy is doing.." he mumbled to Shae with a slight smirk. OH YES, THE CUTE LITTLE GIMPY EGG-EATING PUPPY. OM NOM NOM.

Jade, on the other hand, was just SOOOWEAK he couldn't manage anything outside of moving some of the lighter bags (that even Aster and Shae could have outmuscled) to settle in with one of the journals, writing busily away.

Ha ha.

"Well, we're off to quite a start!"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 12, 2009 6:53 pm

And thus, they settled, and ate, and slowly relaxed into the flowery hellhole of choice for the night without complaint. With Yossarian and Kanda both present to handle the heftiest luggage, and the girls (plus Jade) to deal with anything left over, Fabio was swiftly freed of his weighty saddle entirely and left to graze.

The former male snapped out his own sleeping roll as a first preparation, too, checking all of the bedding for any unwelcome life forms (like scorpions) and even doing the same for Aster once she'd wandered away) before dinner was prepared and served: a basic rough stew for the road, as was such common traveling fair.

They even brewed some bitter (unfortunately so) coffee and offcolored tea to wash it down with, which no one seemed willing to complain over. So long as they had a fire going to keep the (now undeniably present) cold away and food in their bellies, why bother? It was better than it could've been.

(Shae, in particular, knew that one from experience.)

She'd been silent ever since they'd unpacked, scooted up close near the crackling flames and idly scooting the latter half of her uneaten meal around its little tin vessel.

Only when she was spoken to did she seem to faze back into reality again, and just sighed, softly.

"... Probably full grown," she reasoned, more or less under her breath. "Well groomed, well fed... playing with children in some quiet neighborhood..." It sounded so nice and sweet, didn't it? Much better than a terrible desert, where nobreeds came to live and others came to di-- ...

"It feels like this place hasn't changed much..." she added even more quietly, forcing down another bite. "Even after all of the recent military threats and foreigners..."

She wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing, either.

"And things are only assured to get more exciting as we go," Hanna mused as she slunk over to take a seat beside her dear friend, carrying not only her portion of dinner, but a journal of her own, too. She wasted no time in getting comfortable, either, even plucking a desert flower to smell and shove behind one ear.

"So... do you think we'll have fortune enough to get through the night undisturbed?" she couldn't help but ask, more amused than alarmed. "I wouldn't be surprised either way, myself."

oh yes, having Aster get stung would have caused her to wail and wibble and whine and generally be a pain in the a**.So at least they had THAT to be thankful for not happening, She'd just be a perfect little...well, not so perfect. She was too far from being 'perfect' to be much else relate to it.

However, Aster WAS cold, figuring out VERY quickly that she would NOT be spending the night outside of her blankets, almost immediately crawling into them to shiver.. and whine a bit because the sleeping roll was ATTACKING HER BURN..

which was actually just on her face-and-chestarea because all over exposed 'skin' was just her fur. WOO, MOSTLY COVERED. THough damn if peeling off all of those pesky outer layers didn't feel niiiiiiiice in the long run before she settled into the blankfjd;fkladf. UGH, MOAR NEKKID MEANT MOAR COLD. SHIVERSHIVERFAIIIIIIIIIL..

fadflkads.

She'd just curl up and stay warm that way. NOPE, NOT RETREATING INTO YOSSARIAN'S BED TO WHIMPER AND LEECH HEAT.

Jade, who was happily ignoring the female whimpers of COLD, seemed to have picked up the 'cold' itself, unfortunately. Bleeeeeeeeeeegh.

Now it was time...
for him.. to go into hiding under his blankets as well, happy as could be to sit and write and chitter with Hanna while the TWO BIG STRONG CAPABLE BOYS TOOK CARE TO WATCH OUT FOR BEING ATTACKED. AH HA HA HA HA.

Not that Kanda was thrilled about it by any means. Because he, unable to sleep, had volunteered to be the first stickler who would be staying up and.... keeping watch, he guessed. Seemed to be the right course of action. Or something like that.

Nnnngh.

Though he had sacrificed his jacket as an extra 'blanket' for Shae. HERE, STAE WARM PLZ. But once he'd done that, it was off to sit with Ako and stare off at the..flowers.. and Fabio. Couldn't have their horse stolen away now.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 13, 2009 7:12 pm

Of course it wasn't within Yossarian's character to leave someone (particularly, a very important and emotionally invested someone) suffering, and thus, the dark male followed suit with his fellow swordsman to sacrifice a blanket (HIS sole blanket) atop her bedding, draping it as lightly as he could across her rather... miserable looking frame.

They probably should've invested in some kind of halfbreed sunscreen along the way, huh... or at least kept their damn bare skin not exposed, which she'd missed the memo on.

As for why he didn't stick around after that, and quietly slunk off to go stand (well, sit) watch with Kanda... who knew. Perhaps he simply needed to give his ears a rest, or maybe it was his mind, instead. Either way, he'd left her with a soft mumble of "stay warm" where she lay.

Two pairs of eyes were better than one to watch for danger, right?

"... No disturbances that you can perceive?" he grunted by way of a 'greeting', wearily idling a few steps behind and just sort of... staring, out into the nothingness.

Aside from Aster's whimpering, that was-- a noise poor Shae couldn't have tuned out if she'd wanted to, curled up beneath her own scants covers and even Sir's own jacket (which, sadly, was a far better insulator than all the rest) and still not able to lull off because off it.

Even Del, tucked in against her chest, seemed restless with its quixotic twitching and clicking, finally uprooted when the little halfbreed blearily sat up (coat around her shoulders, of course; desert nights were freezing and she was far from stupid) to drag her one 'essential' bag over, rifling through it with some sort of intent... and withdrawing some sort of little glass jar, containing a faintly gray-geen... salve-ish looking gunk.

"Ma'am..." She even worked up the gall to get OUT of 'bed' and sidle over to the whimpering heap, lightly setting it down next to the bedroll. "Here... I-it should help if your skin's hurting..."

She always came prepared, somehow. Always.

(And besides, as a fellow halfbreed with even less fur, she knew that pain personally, too. She just didn't complain about it.)

And chittering? Oh, that was quite alright with Hanna! She could chitter away all night with her dearest friend, like little child pals in their own fort.

"... Well?" she just had to hear his opinion on the matter. "Things seem to be calm for the moment, anyway... though in a place like this, I doubt that can last too long..."

O bby, that extra blanket did help out... but that didn't mean she wouldn't feel bad LATER when he went to sleep and GOT TO BE COLD AT HER EXPENSE, WOE WAS SHE. Then again, by the time 'sleeping' came around, she'd probably be all saddled up to roll over into his bed and snuggle right up against his chest.

Y'know, her usual spot. It was quite comfortable and supported her body nicely. Mmhmm! And was warm.

And gave her a happee... and PRRPRRRPRRRPRRRPRRRRRRRRR.. oh yes, she'd worked herself up into a tissy of HAPPEE, nuzzling into her blankets and half-zoning out into a state of fake-sleep before Shae's offer had caused her to jump RIGHT out of it.

fasjdl! SHE WAS HERE, WASN'T FANTISIZING ABOUT SLEEPING WITH HER MAN... ER.. IN THE NON-BADWAY.dsfjal;d. "o-oh... thank you."

Not about to pull a Yossarian-at-times, Aster was more willing to take the offering, sniffing it curiously before taking some of it to slather on the sun-offended skin, making sure to rub it in well (ow ow ow ow ow ow), before she offered the jar back to Shae.

"It helps a lot."

And it seemed now, given more warmth and less ouching, Aster was DONE WHINING. THANK GOD. His ears could be at peace and she'd stop attracting things that may have been inclined to prey on her weakness.

THe dysfunctional freak.

"I hear and see nothing.. but given how dark it is and the extra blinding effect from our fire, that is no surprise." Kanda answered to Yossarian, shooting the male a glance, before looking back out into the flowers.

Nnngh.

Flowers. He remembered them well. fajsdlf.

Jade seemed to agree with Hanna's observation.

"But we DO have two strapping young men to take care of us, so that's not a big problem at all."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 13, 2009 11:59 pm

Quite frankly, the cold was irrelevant to Yossarian, who had long since labeled it a tolerable woe and just ignored it thereafter. Sure, there might've been a little cold biting through his fur-- but would it kill him? Surely not. Therefore, it wasn't worth bothering over.

"Which means you really haven't the faintest whether or not something's out there," he concluded blandly in Kanda's wake, but didn't really harass the latter male any further, and just sighed, slouching ever-so-slightly.

"... Well... did you suffer any looting issues that last time you were here?" he added on after a pause, almost awkwardly. Honestly, beyond Shae's occasional mentions he was still in the metaphorical dark over what they'd been doing there last time... sans maybe a vague suspicion or two he'd probably never get the chance to validate.

Maybe once they actually got to and through that wretched Plateau, things would be a little clearer. Until then, he'd just-- ...

His thoughts froze and one ear twitched curiously. Had he just heard something ever-so-faintly, or were his senses playing tricks on him?

"Ah... you're... welcome, Ma'am...." Shae, all the while, had just silently idled there while Aster went about relieving her poor skin, patiently awaiting the return of her jar before an awkward reciprocal mutter and lamely taking those few steps back to her own little bedding nest. It really was just that, too-- a few short steps.

Staying close was the easiest way to make sure they stayed safe and together, after all.

"If you need anything else... p-please don't hesitate to ask..." Because of course she of all people would probably have something for everything. Settling back under the bedroll 'covers', she readjusted that borrowed jacket across her front and, much to Del's elation, settled back down again... more or less.

Sleep was going to be a precious resource and she needed to take advantage of it while she could... except that there was just this tiny prickly something nudging at the corner of her thoughts she couldn't put a finger on.

... Oh well. It'd pass in her dreams, surely.

"I suppose that's true," Hanna, too, had seemed to let it go just as quickly, smiling feintly and rolling back her shoulders in the dark.

"Well, I'm sure things will be just thing then..." Famous last words, perhaps, but they just sounded so very comforting. "Here's to a good night, hmm?..."

And once Aster was all 'coated down' from the burning, she was free to curl back up in her bed and purr away, back into her 'la la' land and snuggle into her pillow and blanket(s). AH HA HA, SHE SO WASN'T IN A FANTASY LAND WITH HER MAN, NOPE. PRRPRRRPRRRPRRPRRPRRPRRR.

Had a happee.

She did so.

Jade chuckled a bit at the purring of the fold-ear, before shrugging his shoulders lightly. "Well, she's quite prone to letting everybody know when she's in a good mood, now isn't she?" Jade commented, waving a hand non-chalantly and musing again with his journal.

"Hopefully she'll become quiet enough to let the REST of us sleep in the long run."

MAYBE.

PLEASE?

The purring caused Kanda's ears to flatten back against his head, frowning a bit. Either way, the swordsman's woman was loud and ..loud. He really couldn't see why he liked her so much.

Then again, Kanda had preferences to quieter beings.. with more sense.. and less 'I R UPSET' habits. Booooooo.

"We didn't suffer much of anything. I was too up on edge to allow for it." he answered, one ear twitching up all of a sudden.

...
..."?"
PostPosted: Mon Sep 14, 2009 10:03 pm

Well, at least Aster was completely assuaged now, which meant that Shae was free to relax and-- ... okay, maybe she wasn't about to actually relax and pass out as swiftly as her fellow female, still secretly trying to deal with a twinge she couldn't place...

But at the very least, she could settle into her little bundle and try to rest her eyes a little, keeping one ear out for any sign of the sound's return. Perhaps the whole thing had just been her imagination getting the best of her, she told herself; surely, nothing ill would come of it.

"There are worse sounds to keep a soul up than purring," commented Hanna, meanwhile, with a sagely little nod in the dark. "I'd rather than than a whimper, anyway... for whatever reason..."

But she trailed off there, perhaps at first to dig in her pocket for that familiar pill vial to partake of, but then to yawn, scrubbing blearily at those jewel-green, bespectacled eyes.

"... Seems I can't stay up as long as I used to, either," she mused, with a weak smile. "Must be about time for me to sleep, too... Here's to a calm night, hmm, Jade?"

Yes, here's to calm and here's to tranquility... or so it seemed for what felt like a long time, Yossarian eventually droning off in whatever idle conversation with the other swordsman until silence fell, and he was staring blankly into the darkness and not really seeing anything, just feeling the cold bite worse than ever through the tips of his fur and the warm puff of his crystalized breath across his nose.

It was chilly and still, and as for how much time seemed to be passing... he couldn't even tell anymore. All he knew was that there'd been no more noises for a good while, and even his unshakeable concentration was beginning to waver in a lull of false security...

Of course by the time he picked up that soft whizzing sound it was already too late, and a hard, sharp, hefty something L shaped had flown out of nowhere to crash RIGHT into the back of his skull, spilling the dark male so abruptly that he barely splutter out a profanity before he was belly-down in the sand, and the mass of figures had seemed to materialize from darkness in what seemed like less than a second.

A huge scaly leg stamped out the fire with its bare underfoot, and there were hands-- no, claws, paws?!-- grabbing at them. Shae instantly shot upright to fend them off... but no, at least two pairs of unfortunately strong arms were wrenching her hands behind her, clamping something over her mouth so she couldn't even scream.

Of course Hanna had no better chance of defending herself than the other halfbreed girl, having actually lulled off into a more or less pleasant slumber only to get (quite literally) torn out of it when something ripped her from the bedroll. Two others were already yanking down the horse, and a far shadow seemed to be watching in the distance, perhaps looking for reinforcements...

They were cold. They were calculated. They were merciless.

They were desert bandits.

It was with a shriek that Aster was also ripped from her bed, before she too was silenced by something (THAT SHE BIT AT, NOM NOM NOM NOM D8<<<<), flailing and squirming and definitely NOT waiting on anybody to save her from it. Her last run in with a certain...
...
group... had at least given her survival instincts in THAT scenerio, hissing through her gag and puffing up.. at least until her arm was wrenched out of it's socket in an attempt to silence her.

djf;lashdf;adslfjkldsjfkl;asdfh;ldsfjsadkhf;lJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIIIIISSYOWLOOOOOWWWWIIIIIEEEE ;AAAAAAAA;.

Kanda had also thrown a good fit about the whole thing, but he'd been turned into a gimp more easily, what with a knife through one arm and a bullet in his leg to keep him from rising and taking up his weapon. From where, disarming him had been...
...

Too easy for his tastes. It upset him greatly. Nnngh. Then again, he wasn't even in a position to take them on, given he was now a GIMP. fjakslf;.

FAILGUARD, HE WAS ONE.

The real surprise came from when one of them tried to grab up Jade, who, under the excuse of 'writing' had stayed up, his eyes darting up into the darkness even before Yossarian had been thwacked. Hmm, most curious: someone had to help those two boys with their night vision. (Then again, he was the one with the light-sensitive eyes.. ah ha ha).

The moment the paws and claws had come after HIM, however, Jade had reacted with instincts that would probably make the mercenaries jealous, grabbing the STRANGEST object out of his bag and with a trained-by-constant-use ease, snapping things into place as well as a... oh hell, he had a Thunaga crystal (amongst others, it seemed), which he easily popped into the device that, only halfway assembled, he had carelessly slashed through the hand grabbing at it, the weapon sparking and charring the flesh it went through, causing the hand to recoil and roar in pain.

"Well well, it seems I have a few guests to teach manners." he chuckled, standing up and dusting himself off before he continued assembling the spear, slowly popping in MORE of the Yrova Crystals into it.

Oh hell, he had a superweapon. Everybody was going to die.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 15, 2009 3:07 pm

It was chaos, pure and simple. There was just no better way to describe the hellish, wild, frantic scramble within that little camp, all parties thrashing and fighting desperately to no avail against their unnervingly powerful foes. Yossarian was seeing stars in the sand, Hanna had gotten the breath so strongly knocked out of her with a hard crack in the torso that she couldn't even choke a syllable out, and Shae had practically been crushed under those hands that tied her, hearing shots go off and frantically trying to get out something, anything...

Until she felt something cold and sharp at her throat and froze stiff as a board.

Of all the ways to meet their end... it seemed like, after cults and avalanches and so many more dramatic fiascos magically avoided, some scruffy steroid-fed bandits would finally do the trick, huh?

Except that apparently the one they were supposed to be guarding had some out-of-left-field violent TRICK up his sleeve as one of the raiders fell back in screams of agony, and another (quite stupidly) launched forth... only to meet the very same fate.

But was that going to scare them off?

"Put the thing down, furry man," a gravvely, deep, husky voice hissed-- coming from the particularly large one who happened to be pushing Shae down with one huge, heavy foot on the halfbreed's spine. "Or we kill them all!"

Of course with a knife already at at least one throat and another promptly shoved against Hanna's (and then Aster's) neck thereafter, they weren't simply bluffing. Oh no... in fact, they'd purposely picked on the women first, as Yossarian and Kanda were excluded from that particular point. The 'fragile' made for far better bargaining chips, and hell, just easier targets, too.

It was only the cruel way of the desert, apparently.

Jade 'Hmmm'ed lightly at the comment from the bandit, seeming all too amused by the threat. Oh no, was-fjs;lf... HE DIDN'T REALLY CARE, DID HE? Oh ********, they were going to die.

Aster was convinced of it at least, freaking out more NOW than she had been before (and wishing she had a kingdom to trade for her life at that moment). She was going to die.

In the dark

in pain

without Yossarian

Noooooooooooooo!

Jade didn't really have Aster's 'dying without Yossarian and still a virgin' concerns anywhere in his agenda though. Nnngh. AH WELL, HE'D JUST... Kukukukuku.

With a sort of Nonchalance, he pulled ANOTHER thundaga crystal out of his pack and with a sort of training that only someone who had probably zapped themselves SEVERAL times with SMASHED it against the one in his spear and just tossed it out with an almost perfect aim.
