Life had been well for Kay, a run of the mill average girl who'd freshly graduated from university with a language degree. Wanting some peace of mind for a few years before starting her career, the femme set out and found a chef job at a small noodle shop out in the remote reaches of a picturesque valley. Seemed simple enough cooking noodles!

Securing a place to stay she'd set to work the very next day after arriving, the shop and valley in general gave off a strange feeling; one which she didn't realize the full extent till she put on her apron and got to work. Her first task? ....turning a bowl of noodles into a fox. Well, in due time of course. Although it seemed impossible to wrap her mind around; the commons area was filled to the brim with foxes of all different calibers, gods, demons, angels, moving bowls of noodles....all of which who talked and acted like they were human! The weight of responsibility of this new, magical job weighed heavy on her, and it was then that she decided that this was not something she could wing with tossing noodles in boiling water and calling it done.

Over the next two months she worked, Kay had met one peculiar fox named Briareos; who was definately more human than animal. Although unsure about the locals; she couldn't help but offer him refuge at her place since he too was from out of town. He made sure everything was in order and often would go out for food or even cook while she continued to study the different spices and magic used for being a chef. Yet things never came in ones....and sooner than later she found herself taking in a forest demon, and then an abandoned bowl who turned into a lovely vixen. A tiger demon, a penguin....suddenly it seemed that her house had become filled with the foxes; but Kay didn't mind at all as her hours increased she found herself less and less at home; and in gratitude the foxes usually had everything taken care of when she managed to drag herself home for some sleep.

That fateful day however came on a saturday, particularly exhausted by a large batch of bowls for a number of eager and excited parents she'd worked well into the night as well as overtime to get them done. Yawning every few minutes it seemed, she'd grabbed her coat to head home when she saw one last bowl on the counter....and figured one more couldn't hurt. Although well past two am, she sat down and began to paint, letting her paintbrush flow across the smooth porcelain till she was satisfied before taking it to the stove and pouring in the noodles and broth. Yawning again, she moved the bowl back to the mixing station and began to put the ingredients as if it was second nature....but she didn't notice that someone had added a new spice to the rack where another would have been. All the ingredients for creation had been added....but who would have known creation was just one switch away from transformation...

The noodles exploded in a glittering magical cloud of multicolored smoke, sending the chef stumbling back till she tripped and knocked herself out on the edge of the table. Completely unprepared for what was to happen when she awoke.

It wasn't until the next morning that she did, and when sitting up and spotting the canine legs under her pants...the young woman was quick to discover she was no longer human - but a vixen! She'd gone and accidentally changed herself into one of the locals; and the thought scared her to no end as she ran home without a second thought...having no idea how she was going to cope with the transformation till she could find a way to change her back into a human once more.
