Guedes simply nodded, looking around as well for a moment. "I'm used to it. It never changes and I've seen it every day of my life. I know every plant and tree along this path and my usual pathways." She told her, continuing on.
"If there's a change, I usually notice it. It's normally nothing to worry about, but the ringing of bells from you has definitely brought a huge change to the area. ...I'm not sure if I like it or not."

Rondel winced flicking her ears back. "I'm sorry." she said meaning it. She put her head down and trotted along the clinking of her bells the only noise coming from her. She did feel bad about having intruded so much into the older mare's territory...but the entire area had just been so interesting...and she couldn't help it that she was curious. It was part of who she was and she didn't want to change it either, but now she wondered if sometimes she went to far.
"I'm sorry again..." she muttered.

Guedes sighed and stopped to look back at the foal. "Don't be..." she muttered and yanked a branch off a nearby bush, offering the berries to her. "Take these, rare but sweet and safe to eat." She said, smiling a bit and continuing on, trying to get to the forest's edge at a reasonable time.

Rondel blinked and looked at the berries taking a quick nibble. "Those are good~" she said her natural exuberance reasserting itself. She picked up her pace and bounced over to another plant. "What about this one?" she asked.

The mare paused again to look back and see what Rondel was talking about. Her eyes widened a bit and she moved quickly to shove the foal away. "Hemlock. Don't touch it! It's not only fatal to the two-leggers but can be just as dangerous to us. I don't even have use for it in anything I do."
She snorted and shoved Rondel along, intending to keep an eye on her now. There was no sense letting her wander around and get into any more trouble then she was already causing.

Rondel nodded and quickly got away from the plant making a mental note of it. "Right..." she said making sure not to lag to far behind again. "And what was the stuff you put on my cut?" she asked. "It really helped." she said. "I want to be able to remember that."

"An herb called comfrey. I found it among several pouches in the two-legger's camp near the forest's edge. I'm not sure where they obtain it, however, so I must steal it for my own uses." She said, falling back to inspect the wound on her side. "I prefer it because it seems to promote swift healing for everything."
She continued on ahead, thankful to reach the forest's edge in a timely manner and paused to look up toward the sky. Good, the night wasn't even half gone yet. She smiled to herself, this was fortunate for her even though she had a foal with her as well.

Rondel nodded taking that in. "I'll tell Momma...maybe we can dance for it." she said pondering. It would be nice to have such a useful herb on hand for cuts and scrapes.
Rondel was only a little tired when the trees finally broke and the night sky opened over head. "Already?" she asked feeling slightly disappointed. Despite the mare's harsh manner, Rondel had felt that there was a sweet side to her too.
She sighed quietly then trotted ahead looking in every direction. Yes, from here she was pretty sure she could make her way back to Melody. She turned again and looked back at the mysterious mare. "Thank you." she said. "Thank you very much." she nodded her head and then turned to start on her way. She suddenly realized something then turned quickly and called back. "By the way, my name is Rondel."

"If the two-legger's even understand what you want..." the mare said quietly, looking back up at the sky. It was going to be a long rest of the night if she had to keep the foal around. Hearing a word of thanks, Guedes quickly looked back down toward Rondel as she started off.
"You can't just go, you'll get lost--!" She started, but felt as if her words fell on deaf ears. She did manage a small smile when she got the little one's name. Rondel. Very pretty.
"Guedes..." she murmured to no one in particular, not expecting to be heard. "My name is Guedes..."
