(well that's nice to know)
Jase took the dagger from the second-in-command's hand and almost without pause slid the dagger across the palm of his left hand. He then placed his right hand on the book and held up his left hand. Jase ignored the screaming nerves that told him his hand was in pain and bleeding. He then waited to be told what to do next.

Hunter Ikari
The Blood Seeker

Hunter watched as this ceremony went on, feeling something come over him as the scent of blood filled the air. He turned, and walked away, cursing in the language of the Fae. He walked as far across the room as he could, averting his eyes from anyone.

"If you need me to heal that when you're done, let me know." Hunter said to Bree telepathically, so that only she could hear. He seemed slightly annoyed...like he had a headache or something.

[[@Kisu: It wasn't a pact, it was a bond. Hunter is her bodyguard. Jase is doing the initiation, which is like a pact, i guess...

Anyone want to know what's going on with Hunter? Too bad. ^_^]]

((He's upset that Bree had to cut open her hand. Am I right? Or was it the smell of the blood? And sorry I've been taking so long to respond. I've been posting in a contest thread in another guild. ^^))

Reka came back into the room carrying a large wine glass and a bottle that obviously held the wine spiked blood. She noticed what was going on and glanced around the room. She was suddenly very nervous about something. But, about what? The Blood Pact that was taking place?
She went over to where Va'an was sitting and set the glass down on the table. Then she uncorked the bottle and set that beside the glass.
"Pour however much you want." She said quietly, glancing over at her sister, Mist and Jase. She shifted her weight from foot to foot. That was definably what she was nervous about.

Bree took his hand as if she was going to shake it, but she held it still. 'Ok, I will.' She respond telepathically to Hunter. There was slight worry etched on her voice for him. She'd seen how he had reacted after she cut open her hand.
She gave a small nod to Mist to continue. Mist nodded back. She turned her attention back to Jase. She retrieved the dagger from him.
"Jase, repeat after me. I, Jase Dragonil, here by swear a pledge whole-heartedly and thruthly to obey the Code of the Rouge Wolf, protect the Scarlet Wolf and our leader to the best of my abilities in times of danger, to trust in and never lie to her." Mist said while holding the dagger, blade down, to her chest.

((Damn, I feel like I could have done better on that. I just don't know how to improve it.))

Hunter Ikari
The Blood Seeker

Hunter walked towards Reka, and paused, looking up, meeting her eye to eye. His eyes no longer looked human (I'll post a pic link of what they look like momentarily). He spoke calmly, quietly...like he was almost in pain. "Would you mind getting me some of that stuff and a normal bottle of wine? I'll mix it myself.

His eyes calmed, the symbols within spinning slightly, forming into normal human eyes...however, his normally slate gray irises were blood red. He was smiling weakly.

[[Sort of? Hunter's been in something called Lament, for ten years. Sealing off his energy, hiding from the world. Now he's undergoing what's called Awakening, and he's having to deal with the power spike. It's hard to manage, but the scent of her blood was just distracting /enough/. He's in a state of irritation, and really the only three things that could calm him down are alcohol, sex, or fighting.

Well, less of calm, more of take the edge off.

I'm going to assume you'd rather he does the first. ^_^

Also, as I said, I'll post a link to a picture of what the odd eyes look like. It's...interesting. Hard to explain, but anyone who sees them feels the compulsion to think they're seeing things. It's a Fae thing.]]

((Yea, I've heard of it. Haven't seen it though. Anyway, I'm not posting with Bree and Mist again until after Amaroq responds to my last post.))

Reka jumped slightly at the sight of his eyes. She blinked a few times to make she wasn't seeing things. Then she nodded her head and quickly went to go get the requested alcohols.
"I'll be right back." She said as she looked back just as she went through the door.

[[Click here for Hunter's unique eyes.

Didn't mean for it to look like Sharingan, but...meh. It represents The Grid, which is on his profile...but not done yet. Sorry to be cliche about the whole thing, but...it happens.]]

((Cool))

Reka was back with in a few minutes. The regular wine was easier to find then the wine spiked blood had been seeing as it was asked for more then the other. She had another large wine glass that she placed near the other one. Then, like the last bottle, uncorked it and place it on the table to.

((I'm so having a Writer's block streak....-_-; ))

Jase's senses seemed to grow sharper to their owner. It was as if time slowed down as he opened his mouth to repeat the second-in-commmand. He repeated word for word,"I, Jase Dragonil, here by swear a pledge whole-heartedly and thruthly to obey the Code of the Rouge Wolf, protect the Scarlet Wolf and our leader to the best of my abilities in times of danger, to trust in and never lie to her." He knew that he could be loyal to this person, but he wanted to make sure that this person was up to his standards of fighting skills. "Before we continue, I would like to say that before I put my loyalty to you there is something that I would like to do," Jase said locking eyes with Breena. He had a feeling that this woman was highly skilled, but he was highly skilled himself. "I have this bad habit of testing a new leader before I know I can count on their skills to keep me safe. The best way to find this out, would be to have a sparring session," Jase put it lightly so that it would seem as if it were a small test that could be passed easily.

Hunter Ikari
The Blood Seeker

Hunter's eyes widened, and his irises changed to skyblue once more as he spoke a single word. "Dance." Hunter suddenly moved incredibly quickly, almost too fast for anyone to react. His hand twitched, his scythe now in hand. The haft extended, the blade popping up as he brought it up, stopping the blade in front of Jase.

A skyblue aura emanated off of Hunter, and he had a cold face on. He was staring intently at Jase.
"Your job is to keep her safe, not the other way around. Either you can get over your pathetic pride and submit, or you can answer to me, child, and I don't play games." Hunter twisted the haft of his scythe, and light gleamed down the razor sharp blade, asserting his point.

[[Sorry, Hunter's reaction, not mine. Also, that's the last time he can react that fast to anyone other than a simple NPC commoner. Being that he had excess amounts of energy, he's pumped up, but that still took a dangerous amount. He'll play fair in a real fight, but that warning was a show of force.]]

Jase hadn't reacted as fast as Hunter had, but only a second later he had up a sword that looked like it was wreathed in fire. Jase's face was one of anger. He very quietly, but with a firm tone told the man,"You mistaken my intentions, but if you wish to challenge me on the grounds that I mistake my duties then I have no other choice than to accept. However, know this; if I cannot be sure that she can get me out of a mess that we just happened to be in, then we will surely be lost. It is not a bad thing to know the abilities of one in whom you are putting your trust and loyalty. Not to mention your life. That and it will comfort me to know that I won't die before I see them."

Jase's seemingly sword of flames dissipated as he bowed his head to Breena. "I apologize if I offended you, but it pays to be too cautious. I have learned this the hard way throughout my travels," Jase offered no excuses other than the reason he presented.

((Right, see ya then. Night Shade.))

Both Bree and Mist blinked in surprise. Though it was not unheard of for someone to ask this during the ceremony, it was still rare.
"Hunter, please calm yourself. It's not unheard of that someone ask this during the ceremony. Jase, you can have your spar, but only after we finish this. We can't leave in the middle of the Blood Pact or it shall fail and we would have to start from the beginning. And there is no offence that needs apologizing for. It is only natural for someone to want to know the strengths of someone else before they agree to anything." Bree said in a calming and sincere voice.
Mist cleared her throat again and then continued on. "Right, Breena repeat after me. I, Breena Sarvis, as leader of the Scarlet Wolf hear and accept your pledge."
A hard look appeared in Bree's eyes. This was the part she hated. Having to repeat after Mist. Oh well. They had both agreed on this, so she had to do it.
"I, Breena Sarvis, as leader of the Scarlet Wolf hear and accept your pledge."
As soon as the last word was out of her mouth, the dagger flashed again. This time with a bright red arua. That was a good sign. It meant that Jase was serious about this. Had the dagger flashed with a dull red arua, they would have immediately known he was lieing and would have to watch him until they were sure he wouldn't betry them.
Bree and Jase should have been feeling a sharp tingling sensation in their hands as their blood and Seishou mixed slightly. Bree knew she was feeling it.
"As an offical witness to this ceremony, I comfirm that it has happened." Mist said as the arua around the dagger started to fade. She turn to the other in the room.
"Do you confirm that it has happened?" She asked them.
Rick grunted and nodded his head once. Reka gave a quiet yes. Several of the other customers rasied beer or ale glasses and shouted some nonsense. They were as drunk as shunks so they didn't know what was going on and would agree to anything. Several barks from the wolves that had been watching from dark corners or from under tables unseen but probably sensed were also heard as they came out and sat. They started up a chorus of howling, welcoming their new brother. Jase would be able to understand them now.
"Jase, can you hear and understand what they're calling you? Firery One. It's considered a great honor to the Wolf-kin to be given a name by a wolf." Bree said quietly.

((Both of you are lucky I can react quickly to what someone else posts and calm a situation.))

Jase's demeanor changed fast. He was true to the fire mages ideal in that he didn't let much get to him. He smiled as he chuckled. He said in reply,"Well, that definitely suits me in more ways than one. I think I will be enjoying our sparring session. If your skills are as good as your charm is then we'll have a good session on our hands. So, do you think you can handle a match tonight? Or do you need to wait until tomorrow, so you'll have had enough rest?" Jase knew that the answer to this question would show several things about Breena. Whether she knew it or not, the question was more like a test than anything. As was the sparring session.

Hunter Ikari
The Blood Seeker

Hunter's arm twitched, and he hesitated, before turning his scythe, the blade folded in, and he placed it on his back. Muttering something to himself in Fae, he turned and sauntered back to the alcohol that had been brought to him. Pouring the wine into a glass with one hand, yet retaining perfect grace doing so, he grabbed the glass, and turned, sitting down.

Sipping his wine, he closed his eyes to enjoy it, and get over his transgression just now. He knew better...but...no. He should have remained calm. If trouble had presented himself, he was prepared to deal with. Then, he sighed, and glanced up at Bree, sending her a telepathic message.
I'm sorry I reacted so...harshly...to something that was none of my business. I will take whatever punishment is sent my way.
