"I don't deserve one," Sario gave a bitter smile, bowing her head as she did so. "Good luck, Captain. I wish you safety and peace."
She closed her eyes, feeling a lump forming in her throat.
She loved him enough to say goodbye, that was all she could do now. Nothing would change the fact that she had hurt him and nothing would take it away. The rift was opened and it continued to grow wider.
Turning, the woman walked off as quickly as she could before another wave of tears fell.

Without realizing it, a tear slipped from Legede's eyes as Sario left. He stood, wiping it away as he watched her.
"Sario! Wait!" the captain called out, realizing how hard his words had been.
Was he really mad at Sario... or was he simply angry with Talli?

"Aye, it seems we're in trouble all the time, does it not? I don't know how we get through it." She yawned, thusly grabbing his arm and dragging him over to her bed. "I need my pillow. Sleepy." "I have been reduced to your pillow now?" Legolas asked with a raised eyebrow. He was silent for a moment, before laughing. The prince was surprised at just how funny that sounded. With a smile, he fell backwards onto the bed, pulling Sallia with him, though catching her gently. "If I am but your pillow... then that will just have to suffice." Legolas added with a mischevious grin. heart

Sario wanted to make a run for it, she wanted to hide and not let him see her the way she was now.
But she didn't. Instead the woman did as Legede commanded, standing still but with her back turned to him. Hands over her eyes, she wiped away most of her tears.
Her tears would not mend or fill up that hole, no matter how hard she cried or wanted to.

Silently, Legede walked up to Sario. He stood behind her for a long moment, his eyes narrow as he considered his conflicting feelings.
On the one hand, he was angry that she had thought so little of their love. She had betrayed him by sleeping with the one person whom the captain would have killed on the spot had he not saved Legolas.
On the other hand, he was angry with Talli for taking advantage of Sario once she was weakened from healing him. No, not only healing him but transforming him back to the Elf he had once been long ago.
The captain's mind and heart waged an epic war then. One saying he should be angry with the both of them, and the other saying that to forgive Sario would make everything better once again... It would at least start them on that path.
Without thinking about it, Legede reached out and put his arms gently around the Maia's waist, pulling her backwards to rest against him as they stood within the forest.
"Forgive me..." he whispered, feeling his heart ache at the admission. "I am selfish and Mandos was right. But please, Sario... forgive me."

Sario choked out a sob, startled to find herself in an embrace. At Legede's words did she begin to cry harder, tears spilling out from her eyes and she couldn't contain them any longer.
The woman turned her head to let the side of it rest against his chest, staining his tunic near where his heart was.
"It's okay...Its my fault! You only did what you felt was right," she curled her fingers into a fist, pressing the knuckles of one of her hands into her mouth, trying to still her sobbing and quiet down.
"I'm sorry, I really am! You're not to blame, no one is," her voice was muffled now, staying within his arms. It was all she needed, and Sario felt both relieved and sadened. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Oh Valar I'm sorry!"

Legede held the woman tightly against him. He too had tears slipping sliently down his cheeks.
"I forgive you, Sario. I forgave you the moment I realized what truly had happened. But I... I felt as if I had failed somehow. I was hurt and because of that selfishness, we may not win tomorrow. I... Valar... I will love you no matter what you do!"

Her body shook with emotion, racked by the sobs that erupted from her form. Sario couldn't stop, her breathing hard to control as she listened to Legede.
He forgave her. Even when she didn't deserve it.
"Don't...Please, don't come with...Me..." she forced in between each draw of breath, pulling away her hand to let it rest on his chest. "Melkor...She'll only use...Us against each...Other...I don't want...To lose you!"

"If Mandos does not give me my power back, then I will go with Aragorn to lead the armies. However, if it is bestowed upon me once more, I have to come, Sario. You will need aid. You can not do this alone, and you know it." Legede replied, looking up to the stars, "The Valar know it."

Sario took deep breaths, letting her eyes stare at the forest floor, the opposite of what Legede gazed to.
"You will only be my weakness there, as I will be for you," came a hoarse voice after another minute of silence. Every now and then her body would jolt, dealing with the sobbing she had done not too long ago.

He shook his head. "Sario, this is different. I... I know this will sound harsh to you, and I do not mean it to be. However... Melkor must be destroyed. If that means I have to die, so be it. If that means you have to die, then so be it. If one of our deaths, or the deaths of us both will seal this evil away, then we must be willing to sacrifice ourselves and each other."

Sario kept her thoughts silent, but she understood the reason behind his words. She knew sacrifices were need to ensure the safety for the rest of the world, but she would rather it be her instead of him.
He's had to die so many times before.
Instead the woman nodded, fingers curling around the fabric of the tunic.

Legede sighed, glancing down at Sario to notice how pale she suddenly was. "Are you alright?" he asked, wondering if his words had somehow upset her. "I did not mean to make you angry nor sad."

"I am well," Sario answered, closing her eyes as she wiped her face. "I...I'm sorry, I did not mean to break down it's just...Valar, even if you've forgiven me I can't help but feel remorse and I'm so overwhelmed with sadness..."
